Oh my, the timing of this question is spot on. My parents got into town yesterday (BTW for anyone that may remember my post earlier this week- DH took Hilary sticker down before I could make a final decision LOL), and it's been a bit painful. I am SO different from them and it's gotten harder and harder to even just chat or make small talk. DH is at a conference so they came to visit me (after much coaxing on my part, which I don't even get- they're retired and not doing anything with their time and 4 hours away which is close considering we used to live across the country from each other). Anywho I suppose my dad and I have a similar dry sense of humor.

@ChefRamsay Good for you! That can be a hard decision even if it is the right one.
@Buthayna My guess is that FF doesn't want to give you CH because of the previous fake-out spikes and the lack of secondary signs this time. For slow rises, it still follows the "0.1 higher than the last six temps" rule so your CD20 and CD24 temps could be stopping it.
@FLAshley If you were in Wisconsin rather than Canada I'd be asking you if we had the same grandmother ;-) That's tough.
Sorry for everyone who is dealing with tricky or stressful political conversations today. I do not envy you.

Boo.
I'm going to go drink some coffee and watch the movie Joshua with the hopes it convinces me all children are evil anyway.

@JulesDP I already decided before I started this cycle that once I confirmed O, I wasn't temping after that. I don't need to obsess over my chart in TWW. Last month I spent way to much time comparing it to other charts. @FLAshley snow?! Yikes! Thankfully there's no snow in my part of Canada yet
@Immtravels boo for taking the sticker down !! Your relationship with your parents sounds similar to mine. Making conversation is not easy. When they come to visit from 2 hours away (which is rare), you can feel they are ready to go when they arrive and that's A OK with me !
@JulesDP Enjoy the day with your newphew !!! Sounds fun ! This is my first cycle temping so I find it incredibly interesting but I can see how one would need a break.

@lmmtravels I can't believe DH took your sticker down! I hope you have a decent visit with your parents - at least you still can have a glass or two of wine to ease the process!
@ChefRamsay I've worried about that as well, since my DH goes away for work quite a bit. I've compared his work calendar to my chart a couple of times, and find that overall it doesn't make much difference. Sometimes the first night he gets home or leaves, but that's usually because he gets in late and leaves super early so it actually disrupts my sleep a bit. If you're really curious, you could try making a note on your chart and see if there is a trend?
@JulesDP Have fun with your nephew (and family) today!
@FLAshley I'm on the complete other side of the country from you... and luckily no snow here (or anywhere in the forecast), just lots and lots of rain!

GTKY: My parents and I think I look more like my dad, although other people often say I look like my mom. Personality, I definitely am more like my mom, but I got my smarts from my dad.
@Sailing_Mama I've never temped orally, only vaginally, so I can't speak for what differences to see in your temps, but I advise no bottoms or at least loose/stretchy ones for easy access. (I don't really know it moving around a lot can mess up the temps, but I'm always paranoid and go commando if possible. If not possible, I just wear undies or boxers, not pj pants so I can just pull it to the side easily without actually undressing under the covers, because that would be awkward and possibly give false temps.)
@adirat thanks for the FF rule re-cap. Even if I put in a few more days (in spoiler) continuing to go up for 3 more days, it doesn't put in CH. I want to be patient..but it's so hard! Usually I can get CH by putting in a few realistic temps for 1-2 days in the future, but look at this ridiculous chart with 5 days of future temps that just keep climbing and no CH. Maybe I'll just have to predict my own CH if FF won't? Not sure whether to think CD25 (lowest before the climb started) or CD27 so it's higher than CD24....or maybe I still haven't O'd yet and my temp is just being super dumb.

@Sailing_Mama I think I've read that vaginal temps are higher than oral temps, but I don't know the magnitude of the difference.
@Buthayna That is so odd that FF won't give you CH even for the extreme chart you posted! So by my read, there are a few options if your temps stay high: CD23 (with fallback rise), CD25 (lowest temp) or CD26 (last low temp before higher than presumed coverline). Without secondary signs, there's no good way to differentiate, though I would probably pick CD25 just because that's the most common pattern. (That isn't a good enough reason to rule out the others entirely, but if you have to pick one I'd pick it.) If your temps stay high for another few days, I'd probably override for CD25 since FF isn't going to do it. Is your LP usually the same length? If so, then you can back out which day it was later so you know.
@adirat That's what I've read, but like you, haven't found any comparison. I guess I'll just have to find out - and I'll be sure to post about it so that others can learn too

@adirat thanks for the suggestions on dates! It's hard to say a predicted LP length *TW* pre-loss I was 11 days usually , occasionally 12. post loss I've been slowly growing in LP length, starting with 9, then 10, 10 but counting "partial days" the first 10 was a smaller 10 than the second 10 if that makes sense..like, 10 in the morning vs. 10 at night almost on to the next day...so I would predict this cycle to have a 10 or 11 day LP, but I don't really know...especially with the rest of my cycle being so wonky, I feel like any predictions I would have felt confident in previously are out the window!

Sorry to sound harsh but I don't consider her a Grandmother ! Ahhh great question.... sorry it turned into my rant !

I look more like my dad. Actually when I was little, he bought me a hat that says "I look just like my daddy" and I still have it! I also have his lack of patience, which I'm trying to work on. I have my moms personality and feel like I'm more like her.

WAYDTGKU: shrug
R/R: I'm depressed. We're into cycle 7 with no luck. I'm not sure what else to do at this point but obviously what we are doing isn't working. At first, I thought I wouldn't be too upset this cycle since we originally thought we were going to TTA, but we hit O day and that makes me depressed, too, because it was like an experiment with just hitting one day and still nothing. Boo.
I'm going to go drink some coffee and watch the movie Joshua with the hopes it convinces me all children are evil anyway.
CS/Q:
GTKY: My brother and I both look exactly like our dad, and I definitely resemble him and his sisters in personality much more than my mom. My mom and I get along OK now, but most of my life we haven't gotten along well because of how different we are in personality.

R/R: I woke up with a cold (no surprise since I was around my snotty nieces this week). I feel like I had daggers in my throat.
CS/Q: is it ok for me to take Tylenol cold? Based on past cycles I should be gearing up to O in 2 days.
@JulesDP Enjoy the day with your newphew !!! Sounds fun ! This is my first cycle temping so I find it incredibly interesting but I can see how one would need a break.
@BertieMeetsGertie Yum to the cupcakes. I'm also VERY impatient.
@adirat I have cut Grandma out of my life. Grandmas are suppose to be sweet, loving, and protective. I got a grizzly bear for a Grandma. I don't need her drama ! So sorry your feeling down in the dumps. Fx for you that this can be your month !
@britvahok Enjoy your relaxing walk !

@zwink1 Have fun at the show! Share pictures if you get anything cool
@BertieMeetsGertie Mmm.... movies and cupcakes sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday!
@adirat Sorry this cycle is getting you down... lots of creepy internet hugs

CS/Q: I'm going to switch to vaginal temping this month - any advise? I'm wondering how much difference I should see in my temperatures
GTKY: My parents and I think I look more like my dad, although other people often say I look like my mom. Personality, I definitely am more like my mom, but I got my smarts from my dad.

I think I've read that vaginal temps are higher than oral temps, but I don't know the magnitude of the difference.
@Buthayna
That is so odd that FF won't give you CH even for the extreme chart you posted!
Yes, please do! I'll be interested to know.

@lmmtravels too bad DH took down the sticker! Your patents sound a lot like my mom and stepdad GL with the visit
@buthayna if you end up overriding FF I would guess CD26....

@ladymillil If it were I, I would probably make the decision based on what is less stressful -- stressing over trying or stressing over not trying. Either decision is a good one. Good luck Also, a few weeks ago you mentioned a book about fertility and egg health you were going to read before ivf but I can't find the name again -- what was it? Would you recommend it?

R/R: Rant: The negativity on social media this week has been emotionally draining.I wonder if I am getting sick again as I have been exceptionally tired. Love it! and love having the security of a reliable vehicle

WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPK, eliminated caffeine, avoiding antihistamines (even though my allergies are crazy!), avoiding alcohol (had to drink at boss's house last night.)
R/R: DH is going out of town for work at beginning of FW & I'm doing the same at the end of FW--and it looks like I'll be traveling during next month's FW too. Rave: I found the perfect new travel bag so that will make it more bearable.
CS/Q: With the holiday party season coming up, how is everyone planning to deal with comments about not drinking (for those of you who normally do)? DH isn't ready for his family to know we're TTC and they have never seen me turn down a glass of wine.
@ChefRamsay @Sailing_Mama DH and I both travel a bit for work but I have not noticed different temps when we are apart or together. He disrupts my sleep with his early schedule too, I will start looking for patterns to see if anything does impact my temps.
