I know we all hope for a perfect labor and delivery experience, but we rarely get it. I'm sorry @dmontgo it was especially rough, but I know in the end its all about getting baby out safely. Congratulations @dmontgo , welcome to mommyhood, it's a beautiful thing.

Just saw your post in "announcements"... for starters. You have nothing to explain... you were having a baby... and having it at great difficulty! We were all very content to pray and send you our love and wait. Second. Know you did good. SO good. I know this because you did what had to happen and you did it for Ashton and yourself. I'm sorry it was hard. I am praying for your heart and mind and all that hurts right now. But, know you rocked it and you need time to rest and heal... allow this time to be sacred and enter into it fully. Kiss that baby and smell his head deeply. Hugs!
@maamawaabangi I needed this post right now. Thank you so, so much. A lot of tears, happy and sad, and have been shed these past few days. Thank you for letting me know it is ok.
@dmontgo YOU HAD A BABY! You were forced to change from your ideal path, and likely didn't have time to process or adjust emotionally. Enjoy your recovery time, talk it out with your H or BFFor whoever you need to. Just remember YOU, no one else, YOU had a baby. And you did everything you could to make sure he was ok. That all anyone can ask, and more than some can give.

She underwent extra monitoring, medications that caused mental grief, had to move houses, had an induction that wasn't planned, went over 24 hrs of monitoring with invasive checks, and had a major abdominal surgery: all so he could get the help he needed.

You are so brave and strong! It's going to get better every single day! I know having a baby in the NICU isn't fun and it comes with unwarranted guilt and doubts etc but that won't last. What a beautiful boy you gave life to!
Congrats! I can't imagine how hard it was for you, and not being able to see him for so long! Just wow. But now you have him for the rest of your life . So happy for you!
Welcome Ashton! @dmogmo he is amazing. I'm so sorry that your experience was traumatic, but am thankful that you and he made it through- you are incredibly strong. And yay for baby snuggles today! Here's to many more of those to come.
