How big is baby? A tall frappuccino, or an artichoke.
Appointments this week? Say my OB for my monthly checkup. HB sounded great, but my uterus still refuses to pop! My back is killing me...get off it, kid! Also got scheduled for our AS the day before Thanksgiving...I can't wait!
Symptoms? Feeling pretty good, pregnancy-wise. Now, as for the state of our country...
Rant/Rave/Questions? Being the only liberal in a family full of Republicans/Trump supporters is exhausting right now. I think I'm going to deactivate Facebook for a bit.
GTKY: What traditions (if any) do you have surrounding Thanksgiving? Any favorite Thanksgiving foods? Thanksgiving is my favorite because I love to cook. Green bean casserole is my specialty! We always pick (if it's a real one) or put up (if it's a fake one) the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. I violently oppose any pre-Thanksgiving Christmas shenanigans!
Appointments this week? One week from tomorrow! (11/17)
Symptoms? Backaches are back. Round ligament pain especially when I twist my torso a bit or move suddenly. Other than that, I'm doing pretty well!
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rave: I *think* I felt Nugget kick for the first time this morning! Apparently he/she is an extreme morning person like me because the only time I'm ever able to feel anything is between 4-5:30 am.
GTKY: What traditions (if any) do you have surrounding Thanksgiving? Any favorite Thanksgiving foods? I LOVE Thanksgiving. I typically get together with my mom's extended family (40-45 people this year), which will be fun since I haven't seen them since sharing the big news! Favorite Thanksgiving foods include ALL THE CARBS (mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, etc.) Turkey's aight, I guess. I know we've hashed that out in Unpopular Opinions before though
Feeling pretty good right now minus the RLP and random feeling that my back is going to go out every so often.
Rant/Rave/Questions?
I'm really bummed I have an anterior placenta this time. I still cant feel the fun kicks, I only feel the weird shifting and rolling, which is really uncomfortable.
GTKY: What traditions (if any) do you have surrounding Thanksgiving? Any favorite Thanksgiving foods? We are still working on developing our own family traditions when it comes to the holidays. DH works retail, so we are usually limited on the time we have off to travel. The past few years have allowed us to travel to our families in South Texas to celebrate Thanksgiving, but we have had a couple up here at home. Still trying to work things out, but as long as we are together, we tend to have a good time doing whatever.
Appointments this week? Nope, anatomy scan next Friday though!
Symptoms? Not much to complain about really, my hips get achy if I am on my feet too long and I have to pee way more often than I'd like at night time but I really don't feel too bad right now thankfully!
Rant/Rave/Questions? Loving feeling baby girl moving around - it's mainly at night right before I go to bed so I enjoy our little bonding moments. DH actually got to feel her the other night too and the look of excitement on his face was adorable. DS has started to pay more attention to being careful of my belly and telling people that I have a baby in my tummy periodically. Makes me melt. If we are just laying in my bed he'll want to come lay his head by my stomach to "lay on baby". He was "telling her stories" the other night before bed too. All of this is definitely helping calm my nerves of wondering how he'll adjust to a sibling!
GTKY: What traditions (if any) do you have surrounding Thanksgiving? Any favorite Thanksgiving foods? We don't have any exciting traditions, just a big meal with my immediate family and my grandparents that are in town -such amazing food though! Pretty much anything my Grandma makes is my favorite! I love her dressing though and she makes a delicious broccoli salad that I can never ever get quite right and will be so sad when she's no longer around or able to make it!
We then put up our tree/decorations usually that weekend sometime and my mom and sisters and I will do some "light" black Friday shopping provided the weather is decent. When I say light I mean go at 9 am and only go to about 4-5 stores and make it home early afternoon. It's fun and just the right amount of time for me and not as crazy by then!
GTKY: What traditions (if any) do you have surrounding Thanksgiving? Any favorite Thanksgiving foods? We put up the tree at my moms the day after thanksgiving. i enjoy all the food...lol Ham, greens, mac & cheese, candied yams, dressing, sweet potato pie...i could go on and on and on
Me: 40 DH: 51 Married 15 years Pregnancies 4 Children 0, 1 miscarriage, 2 stillborn Expected #4 due 04/06/17
Appointments this week? Second attempt at the anatomy scan tomorrow. Little one wouldn't turn around for the first one.
Symptoms? Back to the heartburn. And some RLP.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I appreciate that TB isn't a political place and I don't have to defend my beliefs here.
GTKY: What traditions (if any) do you have surrounding Thanksgiving? Any favorite Thanksgiving foods? I get to celebrate 2 thanksgivings. In October we do Canadian Thanksgiving with our friends and usually in November we have DH's family visit. This year we are using Thanksgiving as an opportunity to visit his family and probably the last time I'll be traveling by plane until after the baby. We do smoked turkey for our thanksgiving and must have the mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy trifecta.
Appointments this week? I had my monthly appointment last Friday. Everything was good. I haven't gained any weight but my midwife isn't concerned - yet. I got to listen to the baby's heart on the doppler and it is always so magical.
Symptoms? I think my energy and appetite are finally coming back. I don't want to celebrate quite yet since the last time I thought my nausea had dissipated it came back stronger than ever. Also, while I'm no longer nauseas, every once in a while, for no particular reason I will just start gagging.
Rant/Rave/Questions? It's been a really emotional day for me today. I knew it would be a rough day give the election results, but I just started bawling at my desk at work in the morning and just continued to cry on and off all day for various reasons. A part of me feels like a lot of it had to do with the pregnancy hormones.
GTKY: What traditions (if any) do you have surrounding Thanksgiving? Any favorite Thanksgiving foods? This year my husband and I are doing Thanksgiving with just the two of us. We are excited to start some traditions when the little one arrives. I'm not feeling the Thanksgiving food right now though. I have been to two Thanksgiving celebrations and haven't eaten a bite.
Appointments this week? YesI had my AS yesterday! It went very well, not perfect as they couldn't get one measurement very well due to baby's head being way down in my pelvis. So I have to go back in 1.5 weeks for them to double check it.
Symptoms? Feeling baby move a lot. So nice to feel. Otherwise my nausea and fatigue is long gone. Loving the second tri energy.
Rant/Rave/Questions? They were testing out a fancy new US machine on me yesterday so the AS was really long. But as a bonus, I got so many high quality pictures and 3D pics for free! So yay to that!
GTKY: What traditions (if any) do you have surrounding Thanksgiving? Any favorite Thanksgiving foods? Canadian here so we already had out thanksgiving. But as my birthday is usually on or around thanksgiving my family and I all get together at my parents house and have a big feast. Turkey, stuffing mashed potatoes you name it. So good.
