I will have an appointment before the next time we do this thread - it's on Monday and I am praying that they do an u/s! 

Any new symptoms or changes?  
No. I have had so few symptoms this time around. I am feeling like that is how my two healthy pregnancies were (can barely remember!), too, but since my M/C pregnancy had ALL the symptoms, and it was just a few months ago that I went through that, I am having a hard time not letting it worry me!

GTKY: Do you have siblings? Does (or did) that affect your desire for siblings for your children?
I have two half brothers and two half sisters, and the closest in age to me is 9 years so I grew up feeling like an only child in many ways. To this day, I don't have the best relationship with my siblings and don't really care for any of them. It's even a little more messed up beyond that but I would need to write a novel on that so I will just say that it's pretty complicated all around. Seeing families with close siblings has always made me want to have 3 or more kids so my kids could grow up with each other and rely on each other no matter what! On the flip side, I worry that they will be so different from each other that my dream of their closeness won't come to fruition no matter how hard I work to cultivate their relationships.

Even more nauseous than before.  And the constipation is worse.

Wondering if I should look into getting my breastpump now, while we still have healthcare policies that support women's health.....

GTKY: Do you have siblings? Does (or did) that affect your desire for siblings for your children?
I have 5 younger siblings.   I wouldn't trade any of them for anything, but I definitely don't want that many. There's also a huge age difference between us (the next one after me is six years younger than me.   and there's a sixteen year gap between me and my youngest sibling).   Having been an only child for six years, I definitely want to give my LO at least one sibling for companionship.   And I want them to be closer in age.   My younger siblings have a bond with each other that they don't have with me.

Not too much, nausea still lingers around and I'm tired a lot but have a hard time sleeping.

I've been in Illinois since last week visiting DH's side of the family. It's been a good trip but I'm ready for my bed tonight.

I have 3 sisters and a brother and it totally has influenced how many siblings I'd like to have for my kids. I like the buddy system so we'll try to stick with that.

Any new symptoms or changes? RLP seems to be picking up. Seems awful early but it;s certainly there.  

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave:We are telling our parents this weekend. I;m super excited. I bought digital photo frames for each set of parents and put about 200 pictures of DD on and the last picture of her says " Evelyn has something to say " and then the following photo is the picture of the ultrasound with the words saying " I'm going to be a big sister" I can;t wait to see our parents reaction. 

GTKY: Do you have siblings? Does (or did) that affect your desire for siblings for your children? I have two siblings. Both are younger. It does play a huge factor in our decision to have more children. DH is an only and he hated it growing up so we vowed to at least have 2 children.

GTKY: Do you have siblings? Does (or did) that affect your desire for siblings for your children? I do have a brother and a half sister. But I didn't affect our decision at all. I'm not close to either of them.

@JAGinMI I also wish that my children will be close and always be there for each other. However, it;s something that cannot be forced. For myself, my sister and I are only 1.5 year apart and we don;t get along the greatest. We are two completely opposite people and it effects our closeness. Of course we will always love each other. My brother who is 5 years younger than me, we have a great relationship. We see each other almost every day and get along fantastic. 

Another example: My father has 4 sisters. He despises 2 of them and refuses to even associate with them. 

My point is that I think it all depends on the siblings and their common interests and likes. Of course they will love each other, even on the bad days but they may not be best friends like we secretly hope.

@itsfine I know it can't be forced, you see discord among siblings all the time in families no matter how much the parents wanted otherwise. Just because you have the same parents certainly doesn't mean you will like each other. But I know that in the case of my family, my parents made no effort to bring us together and TRY to cultivate a relationship. With us, a lot of our disconnect is due to my parents, and then accordingly, my siblings, not making an effort to cultivate a relationship with me when I was a kid so they are mostly strangers to me and they definitely do not feel like "family". Even already, when my kids are arguing/hurting each other's feelings, I am talking to each other about how they have a built-in best friend if they want it and they need to be each other's biggest fan, etc etc. I can only pray that my words resonate AND they end up liking each other.

How far along are you? 8 weeks, due 6/21. So many 8 weekers right now!

How big is baby? A 2x2 lego brick which seems HUGE compared to a grain of rice. 

Upcoming appointments this week? US tomorrow, Panorama scan next week. 

Any new symptoms or changes?  The nausea struggle is real. I'm hoping my OB can help me with that. I'm also tired ALL of the time the past few days. Woof!

Rants/Raves/Questions? My rant is just about the election last night. Woof. 

GTKY: I have a brother, who I was very close to growing up, but I'm not now and it's a huge disappointment. He's an addict with significant mental health challenges, and has no ambition to work on getting better. He's done some pretty terrible things to me and my husband, and one day I just couldn't deal anymore and cut him out. So, I want this baby to have siblings, but I don't think it guarantees lifelong companionship or camaraderie. Also, having had three losses this year, I'll be grateful just to have one take-home baby.

Upcoming appointments this week? I see my specialist Friday to find out if I graduate to my OB.  FX!

Any new symptoms or changes?  Symptoms are slightly letting up a bit this week which caught me off guard and kind of worries me at the same time.  I mean I went from horribly sick last week, to not as bad this week.  I'm just never satisfied I guess.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  Well I mean there is that minor detail of the election.  So many questions.... so many rants.... so little comfort

Does (or did) that affect your desire for siblings for your children?  I have one brother (also adopted).  My parents wanted 9 kids, but couldn't have any biologically.  I grew up so close to my mother's family (my father's family immigrated here and most had died in WWII).  My mom is 1 of 5 which is the smallest of her family.  My grandfather was 1 of 12 and my grandmother 1 of 9, so lets just say my set of cousins and second cousins is HUGE.  I LOVED being part of a big family in a roundabout way.  That really shaped my desire for 5 kids (this LO will be #3).

GTKY: Do you have siblings? Does (or did) that affect your desire for siblings for your children? I have one younger brother. I originally wanted 3 kids because I like the idea of a big(ish) family. It was so fun growing up with my brother, I could only imagine adding more to the family. However, seeing how hard it can be to reproduce, I'd be happy with just one sibling for DD.

10 weeks with twins - Look at my belly already! Not gonna be able to keep it a secret at work for much longer. Good thing I'm out for a long long weekend (Fri-Tues), and then I'm telling people next week (and not wearing mat clothes when going to work--pic is a mat outfit). Ah well, people probably just think I'm letting myself go at this point...

I had my first midwife appointment today. I was worried because from what I understand, they don't usually take twins. The woman I met with said she had to meet with her team before they decide to take me, so I thought, "Uhoh..." But then at 2 o'clock, they called and said they accepted me! Wahoo! My intake appointment has been rescheduled for next Tuesday.

Any new symptoms or changes?  
No. Still so sick off and on. Still so tired off and on. (More on than off.)

We announced to a small group of friends the pregnancy today, and everyone is suitably stunned and excited!

I have a younger brother. I always wanted to have at least two kids, and I'd been thinking 3 seems like a good number. But with how sick I've been, I didn't think I'd be able to handle a third full pregnancy. So yay for 3 for 2!

1 brother who is significantly younger.  DH is the 3rd of 4 and I was 1st of 2.  We have twins that are the same sex and I know DH wanted another shot for the other sex... so I was open to 3 kids but my sibling relationship just made me want to ensure that the kids are all closer in age as I wish I was closer to my brother but you can't relate sometimes when the other person is always in a different stage of life... we still love one another immensely and enjoy ganging up on our dad for fun, haha!

Had my US today at 8+1 and everything looks good! HB of 168 with arms and legs and baby was wiggling away.

I am 8w5d today and my first appointment is this afternoon. This is my first prenatal appointment being PGAL and whoa, it is a mind F. Last time around my appointment was at 9w6d and they told me baby stopped growing at 7w4d.  Also, I got my BFP a little later in this pregnancy than all my others so, on one hand, I won't be surprised to hear that baby is a few days less than what my LMP says, but, on the other hand, if baby doesn't measure right on with my LMP, I will probably freak out. I am going to try to keep myself very busy at work until then but all I can imagine is being told there is no hb and walking away in despair instead of elation.  Ugggghhhh.
