This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.
Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility".
Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appt is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, please let me know and I will add you.
Morning ladies! Today I am 25w3d. I had an OB appointment last week and everything looked normal so far! I'll have my glucose test in a week or so, but otherwise no appointments until December.
Since I'm in my final two weeks, I am eager for the second trimester to END! Mostly because that means that my shower is coming, maternity pictures will be done, and we'll be finishing everything up to be ready to meet our little angel

Good morning ladies! I had an eventful day yesterday. So I took a nap yesterday afternoon, and when I woke up to go to the bathroom, the toilet paper felt different than it should, so I turned the light on and it was bright red. I wiped away to make sure, and again it came back bright red. There was none in my undies, but I was still freaked. I called the nurse advice line, and while waiting on hold twice I checked again. It came back with blood again, but less than the first times I wiped. I was advised to go to the ER (urgent care isn't open on Sundays), so I went downstairs to wake DH, but luckily he was already awake. He asked if I was going somewhere, and I said "yes, and you are too. Time to get up and dressed, we're going to the emergency room". I was seem relatively quickly and had my blood drawn and gave a urine sample. The us techs in the ER weren't fully trained for pregnancy bleeding after IVF, so the on call OB came down to do an abdominal and vaginal ultrasound. Babies looked great, and B was seen bouncing around before it was his turn to have his heart checked. My cervix was also nice and long and super closed. There didn't seem to be a reason for the bleeding, so I waited a bit more the results of the blood/urine tests, and told I was good to go home, but to come back if the bleeding got any worse. Luckily it hasn't, and is almost completely gone, just the tiniest bit of color when I wipe. There is a note in my chart that I came in, and my MFM should see it when he opens my file on Monday.
Today I am 17+2. My next appointment is on 11/14.
QOTW: I was most looking forward to finding out the sexes. Since we didn't do PGS testing and are having more than one, I couldn't do the blood test to find out, so we had to wait for an ultrasound to tell us. Now I'm most looking forward to feeling them move, and then DH getting to feel them move.

@AandDM2014 Sorry you had a visit to the ER, but glad those babes are doing well in there.
AFM...I am a little over 15 weeks, due April 28th with a girl. My next appointment is this Thursday and I'll finally meet my OB. I've met with the nurse and the nurse practitioner, but our schedules have never aligned. Hopefully, she's cool, but I"m not overly attached to my providers, so as long as she can catch a baby, she's good in my book!
QOTW: I'm most looking forward to feeling better. I've had a super rough time with "morning" sickness this pregnancy and I'm looking forward to feeling a little more like me. It has made me so grateful for my overall health.
I also can't wait to feel baby move. I am a STM and it was such an amazing feeling during my first pregnancy, I can't wait to experience it again.
Hi girls! I am 15 weeks today. My morning sickness is getting a bit better although I did have a little vomiting yesterday. My next appointment is next week, and I'm really looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again. I find that very comforting.
I've gotten to the point where my bump is noticeable. I had a stranger come up to me and say it is a boy because my bump is low. I was a little annoyed with him because I mean, ya know, he's so medically trained and all.
As far as looking forward to things, I can't wait to find out what we are having. I'm also excited to feel the baby move.

@clt2pwm11 Oh lol about that stranger. I'd have responded with something like "yeah my bump is low because my uterus just popped out over my pelvic bone". I'm sure that would have shamed him and hopefully prevented him from making any stupid comments in the future!

FET cycle #3 Transfer July 28th 2016, Triplets born healthy on February 26th 2017 at 33w1d!
Hi all! I am 15w today and on Friday we finally got our MaterniT21 results back! We are having a perfectly healthy baby girl! I have a prenatal appt tonight and the 1hr glucose test Saturday morning.
@AandDM2014 So scary but I'm so glad everything is ok! When I read your post I felt like I was writing it though. I had a nearly identical scare Saturday btwn 2 and 4am. I was fine when I woke up at 2am to pee, but at 4am there was red blood. I wiped it all away and tried to calm down. At 6am there was only a tiny bit of mucusy brownish spotting and I've been having that on and off since. No tissue, no cramping, so I was told to wait for my appt today, as it was normal. We did have sex Saturday (for the 1st time since transfer), so I'm blaming that and off it completely now LOL
@clt2pwm11 people are so strange! I've found that they have no filter around pregnant women. Maybe it's their way of trying to connect? I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's just so hard sometimes lol
QOTW: I'm looking forward to feeling baby girl move. I know i'm pregnant but I don't always feel like it and that will just make it so real!

Been away on "babymoon" (kinda hate that term, but that's what it was!)! Went to DC, NYC, RI, Martha's, and Boston with some stops along the way. So much fun, but so glad to be home! I felt GREAT the whole time - 2nd trimester energy hit at the perfect time!
@clt2pwm11 aw, I'm sure he was just trying to be kind to you - ppl love pregos! But I would be a little annoyed too. I don't like when strangers comment on my physical appearance. In DC, a solicitor tried to stop me to sell me something... looked at my belly and said "it's abt kids!". LOL. So I guess it's finally obvious that I'm preg, which is exciting!! But how bold of that dude... what if I had just gained a little weight?! jeeeez. smh ppl!
So jealous of all you ladies who are having regular check ups. I haven't seen bebe since week 9!!! I'm 17+1 today. Heard heartbeat at 13 weeks, but so ready to SEE my LO!
QOTW - excited to feel babe move!! I keep thinking I feel something, but can't tell if it's baby or gas LOL.

@babylonghorn16 that baby moon sounds great. I work in NYC so it's no vacation for me but I love visiting all the other places you went to!
18 weeks tomorrow here. I have an ob apt on Thursday. Seeing ob #3 of 6 in the practice, so far they all seem fine. I'm most excited to really feel this baby boy. I think I've maybe felt movement but not 100% sure so looking forward to feeling those definite kicks.

@babylonghorn16 I'm so glad you had fun on your vacation! I thought I felt something when I laid down for bed one day last week, but then I haven't felt anything since. Bummer! The OB I saw yesterday asked if I could feel them, and she wasn't too surprised I couldn't because most people don't until at least 20 weeks.
@ale9687 Thanks! I too am thankful for health insurance and the ability to use it without worrying about how much it's going to cost!

Hi ladies, I can finally join you here too. I am officially 14w and 6 days today, although LO is measuring a week ahead ... but I am sticking to the official EDD I was given which is 5/3.
@AandDM2014 so sorry to hear about your scare. Glad all is ok.
AFM, I have been having major stomach cramps over the last couple of days (not lower abdomen, proper stomach cramps). I am thinking it's gastritis but messaged the OB.
QOTW: I can't wait to find out if we are having a girl or boy. Last visit on Sunday the OB said it looks like it is a girl, but we will have the test results to confirm next Friday.

Welcome @flanners! @AandDM2014 bleeding is always terrifying. I am so glad your babes are doing ok.
I am doing really well. DH and my Dad painted the nursery this past weekend and it is starting to get put together, it is soooo exciting. Baby boy is kicking up a storm lately and pretty much all day long and I love feeling him. I love that my DH gets all excited to try and feel it . No appointments until Dec 1st (growth ultrasound because of my two vessel cord) and Dec 6th (midwife appt, glucose test, rhogam shot, and Tdap shot ) which seems like an eternity. We also have a childbirth class that week. In the meantime I am looking forward to thanksgiving- only two more weeks!!
QOTW - What were you most looking forward to about the second trimester? I was super excited when I hit 14 weeks and my vomiting/nausea literally disappeared overnight. That was amazing! I was looking forward to finding out what we were having and feeling baby move!

I tried my best to take it easy ALL weekend long just in case. Now im just watching everything my DH says I should request an ultrasound during my next appointment just to be sure, so well see what my doctor says on the 18th when I see her next.

AFM: check up went well yesterday. Baby girl was moving around so much OB couldn't get a solid read on her heartbeat, so they had to do an u/s (darn! ) so I got to see her again. She was so active! Showed us her bum a lot too lol. I go to see the high risk MFM dr's in 4 weeks for u/s and consult and see my Ob again in 2 weeks.
Are all of you planning to do labor and delivery classes? I know it's a little early for me to do them, but my hospital said they book up quickly and way in advance.

@AandDM2014 I'm sorry for the scare. I'm glad the bleeding has stopped and babies are okay! @BornReady I saw a NP at 11 wks and the OB at 15 wks (that's their normal process). @halips I’m glad you got good news! We’re planning to take all the classes the hospital offers
and I'm glad you mentioned that classes can book up – hadn’t even thought of
that! @flanners1 and @blueeyeddreamer Welcome to 2nd Tri! Hope you feel better soon! @cmm012 I hope the cramps ease up a bit soon!
This is my 20th week -halfway! Due 3/28 with a girl. I got my flu shot and had a slight headache for a few days and still have a painful swollen lymph node (all normal). My OB seems pretty confident that DH will be able to feel baby move soon even with the anterior placenta. I'm starting to feel things that I think must be her, but it's still hard to tell. And there are definitely mild growth cramps and uterine spasms (vibrating, no pain). No appointments for a month.
QOTW: I was looking forward to no more MS and the return of energy in 2nd tri. MS didn't magically go away. Definitely much better, but I still have weird food aversions and bouts of nausea. I do have more energy, but not like before pregnancy. Now I am looking forward to feeling more movement.
Anybody experiencing terrible back pain? I've really noticed it kicking in this week. I'm in and out of classes doing guidance lessons, but I never stand for more than thirty minutes at a time. Still, I definitely notice an ache. It is worse when I eat a big meal like I did tonight. Can I use a heating pad on it or is that a no no?

@clt2pwm11 I had some terrible back pain last weekend, and I tired both icing it and using a heating pad. It seemed to help for a bit, but I think time was ultimately what made mine go away. I used my heating pad on the lowest setting and made sure that the rest of me was cool to prevent overheating. I hope you feel better soon! I think heating pads are only a no no if you actually put it on your tummy, or let it overheat you.

@BornReady good luck with meeting your new OB

@AandDM2014 @halips so glad your bebes are okay! How scary!

I am doing really well. DH and my Dad painted the nursery this past weekend and it is starting to get put together, it is soooo exciting. Baby boy is kicking up a storm lately and pretty much all day long and I love feeling him. I love that my DH gets all excited to try and feel it
QOTW - What were you most looking forward to about the second trimester?
I was super excited when I hit 14 weeks and my vomiting/nausea literally disappeared overnight. That was amazing! I was looking forward to finding out what we were having and feeling baby move!
I tried my best to take it easy ALL weekend long just in case. Now im just watching everything my DH says I should request an ultrasound during my next appointment just to be sure, so well see what my doctor says on the 18th when I see her next.

@aandm2012 I haven't taken a nap since probably 13 weeks, but I was never a nap person. You are growing three babes, I am sure you are exhausted!!!

@halips congrats on the baby girl! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!
@BornReady I saw a NP at 11 wks and the OB at 15 wks (that's their normal process).
@halips I’m glad you got good news! We’re planning to take all the classes the hospital offers and I'm glad you mentioned that classes can book up – hadn’t even thought of that!
Hope everyone is having a good week.
