  • How far along are you? 7 weeks

How big is baby? a large blueberry

Upcoming appointments this week? 11/8 ultrasound, I'm so nervous!  This is our last chance at having a baby.

Any new symptoms or changes?  Still nauseous, but now I'm getting up to pee overnight at least once and my skin is breaking out.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  DD has an ear infection which has kept her up at night and we're both exhausted, but she's a trooper!  I guess that's a rant and a rave.

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long?  Not this time around.

    8 weeks yay!
    How big is baby?
    A raspberry.
    Upcoming appointments this week?
    None this week.
    Any new symptoms or changes?
Constipation, ugh.  Busting out the prunes.
    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Maternity pants keep falling down off my butt but they feel so much more comfy that I'm going to wear them anyway.  I've gained 5 lbs already so I guess that's a rant.  I got out my snoogle pillow the other night and I forgot how awesome it is, so that's a rave.
Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long?
Nope.  We just had to redo our budget so I can continue to stay-at-home for a few more years.

How big is baby? A grape/ cherry

Upcoming appointments this week? I have one tomorrow at 8am! Saw our little one at 7+3 and excited to see them again.

Any new symptoms or changes? Well I am guessing I will be throwing up everyday now. This is day two that right after I eat the little breakfast I can stomach it comes right back up minutes later. I have also been extremely tired (went to sleep last night at 8:30), ache, and really stuffy. I love my food and am sad I have not been able to enjoy anything recently.

Rants: I hate throwing up I always cry and get very emotional so this has really helped me kick that habit. Yesterday my husband took me to Golden Corral and I was so hungry!! Two bite later I though I was going to throw up and sure enough when we got home I did! I have a very sensitive gag reflex so any time I cough my food comes with it!

Ravs: My DH has been so great through the whole thing always checking up on me and making sure I am feeling semi-ok. Any time he hears me throwing up he brings me some paper towels and a water bottle. He also tell me everything will be ok when I am going crazy thinking something is wrong. Like yesterday I had pressure when I peed well turned out I was just constipated and it all went away after I was able to relieve that!

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long?
We are headed to the Outer Banks in December to have a relaxing end of the semester (I am a full time collage student). Other than that nothing because I will be full time student teaching January-May so not much time in there!

  • @peachykeen16 I am so sorry you have been up all night! I can not imagine not getting 10 hours a night right now! I am already tired when I wake up in the morning! I am glad she is being a trooper sounds like you have a great one there!

  • How far along are you? 8weeks-- feels like it's taken forever to get here

How big is baby?  Apparently the size of a Raspberry

Upcoming appointments this week?  Yes, TODAY!!!!

Any new symptoms or changes?  I get these stabbing pains in my boobs overnight, that wake me up.  I slept pretty much all of Saturday, while I spent most of Sunday trying not to vomit.  Oh and like @peachykeen16 I also am getting up to pee overnight now.  And finally I celebrated u/s day by vomiting for the first time.  Yay.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  I'm so thrilled to go to the OB today for my first u/s.  Thrilled, anxious, slightly terrified, all the feels.  Also pumped that the election is almost over and then maybe my husband will be able to talk about something... anything else.  I love that politics is a passion of his.  He thoroughly enjoys reading up on policies and knowing both all sides of an election.  He will stay up all night waiting for the results.  But I mean, I just want to watch New Girl...

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long?  We've discussed going away around Christmas, but nothing is decided yet.  Hoping for a week somewhere warm and tropical that does not include a fear of Zika.  Suggestions are welcome.
  • I either missed or there wasn't a Sunday ticker change... Can I join you guys today?!

How far along are you? 7 weeks (and a day!)

How big is baby? A blueberry!

Upcoming appointments this week? I have my first OB appointment tomorrow since my BFP, I am very excited!

Any new symptoms or changes? My boobs hurt SOOOOOOOOOO bad!  And still sleeping all the time.

Rants/Raves/Questions? No rants/raves/or questions... just a comment.  I am SO shocked at how different this pregnancy is so far compared to my other one.  They are like night and day.

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long?  No babymoon for us!

  • Hi ladies!  My name is Jessica. Switching over from the Saturday ticker change. Went to see the OB-PA last Monday and got a new due date so now I'm a Monday gal!!!

edd is June 12th. So 9 weeks today!  App says the size of a cherry so small still!!!!!

I have my first official check up with the OB on Wednesday afternoon and boy do I have a list of questions for her!!

i have been pretty consistently and chronically nauseous for the last four weeks or so. It does wax and wane but doesn't quite go away.  Yesterday lemonade helped. Today it's make me nauseous...  lol.   I read something about vinegar in warm water. Anyone try that??

rants and raves.... omg I am soooooooo behind at work and I am just too dang tired all the time to catch up!!!!!
  • How far along are you? 9 weeks

    How big is baby? Cherry

Upcoming appointments this week? Not this week – next one is 12/6

Any new symptoms or changes? Just feel like sh*t still.  :)

Rants/Raves/Questions? We picked out our puppy this weekend and get to bring him home next Saturday and I couldn’t be more excited. Our toddler gets a fur brother.

Also, finally told my parents that we are expecting this weekend over Skype and my mom was so excited she cried.

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long?

No – I guess we can count our family trip to Hawaii this spring. We are going with my husband’s immediate family to celebrate my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary.

@peachykeen16 FX for your appointment and I hope your daughter feels better!

@kdanjou I got my body pillow out too!

@berg sending good vibes for your appointment today!

@JessErinF welcome to the Monday ticker change! No vinegar for me - I think the smell would make me nauseous by itself.

  • How far along are you? 8 weeks

How big is baby? A raspberry

Upcoming appointments this week? Ultrasound on Friday.  It’s the last one before we “graduate” from our RE to our OB!

Any new symptoms or changes? Not really.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  We have cleaned out a bedroom completely for it to be the baby’s room!  It’s so exciting!  I can’t wait to find out what we’re having so I can start decorating.

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long?  We are actually going on vacation next week.  I have a work conference for Monday-Thursday at the beach, so we just planned to stay through Sunday.  We had already planned this months ago, so now it’s our babymoon.

@berg Good luck today!  Also, I love New Girl!

@JessErinF I have not heard of vinegar in warm water to help with nausea, but it sounds like it would have the opposite effect on me!

@lmc929 Yay for a new puppy!

  • How far along are you? 10 Weeks

How big is baby? A Strawberry

Upcoming appointments this week? Not this week but had my first appointment last week and everything went well.  Heart Beat was 158 :)

Any new symptoms or changes? Thankfully my dr told me to take unisom and b6 and it has been a total game change over the weekend....today I felt sick a couple times but I had not eaten in a while.

Rants/Raves/Questions?  I love that I gave into my maternity jeans!!!! lol!

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long?  Not sure about this.  We probably won't go anywhere though.

  • @amberp1528 I feel your pain!!! I was throwing up every day for 2 weeks and finally asked the dr for something!  He has me taking unison and b6.  Let me tell you....it's a GAME CHANGER!  I started taking it friday and was great all weekend.  Felt nauseous today but I hadn't eaten in a while so that was on me.  Seriously....talk to your dr!  I threw up for 18 weeks with the first pregnancy and it was AWFUL.  There's no shame in taking something to make yourself feel better!!

    @jesserinF- Welcome!!!

Rants/Raves/Questions? Went to motherhood maternity and bought some clothes today!

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long? We will probably do a weekend getaway somewhere - maybe San Antonio (I'm in austin).

Upcoming appointments this week? YES, FINALLY! TThis Wednesday.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant:  I work for my mother in law. It's a small family owned and operated business. whoever thought this was a good idea
    -Elizabeth Marie
  • It didn't post the rest of my post. Lol Rave: is that Monday is over and we're one day closers to seeing our peanut.

Babymoon: Definitely, just a weekend though... the family owned and operated thing. I'm not sure where yet. We defiantly need a weekend just the two of us though.  No family!

  • @lmc929 yay for new puppy!!!  Did you name him yet?

Thanks everyone for the well wishes appointment wise!  We got to see munchkin and hear his/her heartbeat.  It was amazing!  I finally feel like I'm pregnant and not just an emotional, chubby girl.  Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to change practices.  We just moved up here to Western Massachusetts and we don't know anyone, so I just picked a practice based on what I could find online and what hospital I knew I wanted to deliver at.  The practice I chose has 8 rotating doctors and 15 rotating midwifes (midwives?).  Whoever is on call when I deliver is who I get.  They work 8-8 shifts, so it's also possible I could get a change partway through my delivery.  I understand not necessarily having the doctor/midwife you see consistently at appointments delivering you, things happen, labor is unpredictable, etc.  But I don't think I'm comfortable with the idea that I'm more likely to get someone I've never even met before.  Or the idea that if I go into labor at 2am and don't have the baby until 10am, I have a different person handling my delivery for that last 2 hours.  Is this a really common thing that I just don't know about?  Meh.  I hate making decisions like this.

I also see a practice like this. I love MY doctor and try my best to schedule appointments with her, but the reality is she may not deliver my baby (she did deliver my first, b/c I was induced). This may be a UO, but if you have a straightforward delivery (like many of us will), it really doesn't matter who delivers the baby. In the moment, the nurse is in the room with you more than anyone else, and any competent doctor can handle the delivery. Now, if you have very specific birth plan needs, etc. then perhaps you'll want to spend more time finding a doctor that you jive with, but if you overall like this practice and hospital, you may not need to switch. I personally never decided to switch, b/c the opposite concern if you find a small practice you like is what happens if their doctors aren't on call at all? Then, you end up having a doctor you don't know anyway. So, there are pros and cons on both sides.

ETA: At my practice, you can't switch between doctors and midwives. So, if you want a doctor, you get a doctor, and if you want a midwife, you get a midwife (I think). I'd assume there's one of each on call.
  • @helloaustin123 Good luck today!

@berg I wouldn’t like be swapped around to different doctors either.  I know that my doctor may not be the one that ultimately delivers my baby, but I do want to consistently see the same doctor throughout my pregnancy so at least I’ll feel like he knows me (even if he just has to review my chart before I come in every time).

  • @mamaelle27 and @mrlight I appreciate both of your opinions!  @mamaelle27 I totally get what you're thinking and it makes sense.  I think I might wait it out until after my next appointment when I get to meet a midwife.  I'm pretty laid back, and I know I won't have a birth plan really, other than getting the baby out of me one way or the other.  So maybe it's not really a huge deal.
  • Sorry I'm late!!!

How far along are you? 8 weeks + 1 day now :)

    How big is baby? Raspberry

Upcoming appointments this week? TODAY! Finally!! It seems like it has taken soooo long to get here.

Any new symptoms or changes? Less nauseous, more "pukey". Boobs are getting big again. Feel like maybe i'm getting a teeny bit of my energy back?

Rants/Raves/Questions? I just want food to sound good again :( I am eating like CRAP because i can only stomach certain things and i really can't afford to gain a bunch of weight with the pregnancy. I haven't even lost it all from my last pregnancy yet. I feel huge and sloppy :( I am just ready to feel like myself again. On a positive note, i am SOOO thrilled that appointment day is finally here!! I am anxious/nervous/excited and all of the above! Praying for good news!

Any plans to take a babymoon (even if it's just a long weekend)?  If so where and for how long? Not really. We may decide to later on in the winter but no big plans as of now. We are heading up north in a couple weeks but we are taking DS and staying with friends!

  • @berg your multiple doctor scenario was how my last practice was - I had Kaiser so I could have any doctor in my network that was on duty for delivery. That is exactly what happened - Dr Bozeman, a man I had never met delivered my son. However, he was a nice enough guy who delivered my baby safely and that is what matters in the long run :) It also made for a fun coincidence because my husband went to school in Bozeman, MT and our nurse had my mother in laws middle name, Helen.
