Symptoms Thread 11/2

How are we feeling this week ladies?

Re: Symptoms Thread 11/2

  • The headaches have lessened thanks to yalls advice about electrolytes!

I'm glad to not be nauseated anymore but I thought I would be super hungry. But I'm not. I'm eating like I did before I was pg. Is that normal? When does appetite ususally pick up?
  • Loading the player...
  • If it makes you feel better @hgrich I am also eating exactly the same as before.  I'm glad the headaches have lessened!

My headaches have also lessened.  I am having some lower back pain,  maybe sciatica ?  not sure but it isn't fun! I have started getting a linea nigra, which I am very excited about!  mostly because I'm not showing.  at all.  it's really frustrating!
  • I'm still sick most days and its awful. I'm tired all the time, probably because I'm barely eating anything. On the plus side, my bump is starting to look baby like and not just chubby
  • Headaches, all day everyday. I'm also still gagging (but thank goodness I'm not nauseated anymore).
@HGRich  I never had a huge appetite with DS, not until I started breastfeeding at least. It was like there just wasn't enough room to eat a lot. This time, I feel like I have to force myself to eat. Nothing looks good or sounds good, even after the nausea is gone.
  • I still have sore boobs, and my belly is getting big fast.  I need to switch to maternity pants a lot earlier this time around.  My appetite has leveled off and I'm not so tired anymore.

I am getting some random stretching/RLP here and there, but not too bad.

  • @Rachelmiller03 try Excedrin tension headache and some electrolytes. I was telling @hgrich about how my nutritionist cousin recommended electrolytes. I've been on a habit of only drinking bottled or filtered h20. I hadn't thought about essential minerals like electrolytes and others being filtered out. It has helped so much! Try jt out!
  • I'm actually feeling pretty good. My only real symptoms are acute ravenous hunger and random loose stools (which is actually really annoying). Not nauseous though, so I can deal.
  • @lovelongdog06 me too with the loose stools. What's happening in there.
  • My energy has rebounded this week and I am so grateful! It's nice to be awake and functioning after 8:30pm :)

  • Still completely exhausted and always out of breath! I guess I can't complain too much though...it could be worse. I just wish that I had a bit more energy. By the time DS goes to bed I don't even have the energy to talk about baby names and the nursery with DH!
  • I'm eating, but I get full really fast. I'll still be hungry but have to stop eating because I am uncomfortably full. My nipples are also super sensitive and ridiculously large.

  • Eating enough is one of my least favorite parts of pregnancy.  I feel like you have to eat so often and I never have an appetite. It's just tough. Last time, I would just portion my meals in 2 and eat a "second breakfast" and "second lunch", etc. so at least I didn't have to decide what to eat again.

I'm still nauseous but not all day anymore. Anyone else still totally exhausted? I'm 15 weeks...I go to bed by about 8pm and sleep til 6. I just feel like a giant sloth.

  • I've been getting terrible headaches lately, i'll definitely have to up my electrolyte game haha.  I finally got a prescription for diclegis and it's been a life saver for my morning sickness.  I just couldn't deal with it anymore and every time I thought it was getting better, it would get worse in a few days.  It got to a point where I had to pull over and throw up 3 times just during my drive home from work, it was awful.  Now that i'm not nauseous, i'm STARVING 24/7.  The meds did turn me into a super tired zombie though during the day which is a bummer, but i'll deal.  Round ligament pain is in full force too, ouch.  Despite all of this, I'm really getting excited.  I can't wait to meet this little one!

  • The exhaustion hasn't gotten much better, the sores on my gums and inside of my cheeks are back and I have rhinitis so bad!! Yay 2nd tri lol
  • Hello insomnia, my old friend. It's 5am here and I would say I'm up for the day. Our 10mo usually is up around 4 when DH feeds her, and I guess today was a day my body decided not to go back to sleep!
  • I didn't feel nauseous at school once yesterday!!!!!!

Am I becoming a person again?!

  • Is this round ligament pain?  Sharp, stabby on one side of lower stomach.  It feels exactly like when you have an irritated ovarian cyst, if anyone knows that feeling.  I looked up RLP and it seems the same except my pain is constant all morning and what I read made it sound like RLP is just a quick fleeting thing.

    Anyone else?

  • The pain sounds the same but not the duration. It is usually a quick stab.

  • @cafedisco I think it depends on the woman. I often get short stabby pain in the crotch and like you said around the ovary area which I know to be RLP. But I also have pains that stick around and hurt for several minutes or off and on for an hour. Or come and go in the same spot all day. I don't know if it's always RLP or also just stretching pains. But in the last few days it's been on the right side and feels like a nerve is being pinched. At my u/s the tech made a comment about how "she's kinda wedged herself in the corner there" which makes me wonder if she is sitting on a nerve or something. And looking down at my belly it's lopsided on the right so it could be. My point is, my RLP definitely comes in sharp sudden stabs, but I also often feel a constant ache or twinge too. I don't think it's a cyst because we would have seen it at the u/s Wednesday, so I think it's just stretching pains of some kind, RLP or not.
  • @kristinh88 I have been feeling it too. We have so much to get rid of just so she can fit in the house. And I don't want to get rid of any of it. But today I was all about making a plan of what stays and what goes and where the stuff that stays is gonna go. Really just wanna get it over with.

  • @KirstinH88 Totally nesting over here. A couple weeks ago I went through and reorganized kitchen cabinets, coat closets, linen closets and whatever else I had the energy to do. The nursery got emptied of everything that wasn't baby related and now all the crap that was in there is filling up our guest room. My plan is to finish the nursery by the end of the year and then I'll reorganize the guest room. I don't know why I want to get the nursery done so bad, it just dawned on me a few days ago that the baby won't even be sleeping in there for about a year...
  • @Virginialeigh I am a major anti-hoarder. I throw away EVERYTHING. I just can't stand to have stuff hanging around. I'm honestly surprised I held onto DS's baby stuff for so long (he's 4). DH is not fond of this quality in me, but I can't stand the clutter.

@LittleChick2 I also would love to get the nursery done by the end of the year so that I can just put finishing touches on it until baby arrives. But idk if DH has that same game plan. He's a very "last minute" kind of guy and refuses to let me paint. So I'm going to have to bug him to make sure he stays focused. The plan is to have baby in it from day 1. DS was in a crib in our room and I hated it!
And the hall closet!  :s I'm very scared of it at the moment. It's the closet that we keep all the kids games, puzzles, etc. and it is a mess! I keep thinking I'll have the kids help me organize/clean it and then I find something else to do instead.

  • My brain is nesting.

My actions are not. (See post about constant pain above).  I feel like a downer all the time, but it honestly feels like if it's not one physical pain, it's another this pregnancy. If DH wasn't a bit OCD about a clean house, we'd be living in squalor.

  • @kristinh88 I'm the total opposite. If it wasn't for DH I would totally be one of the crazy ladies on Hoarders. I hate throwing things away. What if I need it again some day? Sometimes DH throws things away when I'm not home, so anytime I can't find something the first thing I do is accuse him of tossing it.

  • I am also nesting early. I usually go through our stuff and get rid of things often, but now I am in overdrive! We find out if we are having a boy or a girl later this month and I am excited to start planning the nursery (although DH wants to keep it the same if we have another boy...)
  • Anyone else experiencing a basically diminished sex drive and have a husband that has zero respect for that fact? I am beyond upset with DH right now
  • Still sporting "inferno crotch" over here. Always hot, all the time with constant damp undies. So. Much. Fun.

  • @HGRich, I had super appetite in first trim, then I just hardly feel like eating (even though I dont feel sick).  Just follow your body, it knows what it needs! I am personally freaking out about kalcium.  Doctor says I need to get two servings of milky stuff in, but I hate yogurts with a passion and I really tried, but never liked them all my life.  Trying cottage cheese and milky lattes, but very worried that I dont take in enough.  Otherwise not many symptoms, just the usual - discomfort in bumpy car rides, sometimes bad urge to pee, and the odd ligament pain and stretching.

My DH:  French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever.
Our baby boy:  Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks.  I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!!
Last measurement:  3150 gs at 37+1!  This is going to be a big baby :)
  • @smallanimal I'm with you on the calcium... I have to deliberately think about milk and getting enough.

Otherwise symptoms are minimal except for heartburn, why oh why won't it go away!

  •  @ekzerr, my drive has way way gone down to the point where I'm ok with maybe once a week or even not that often. Poor hubby has gone opposite and is asking for it almost every day! He has been understanding most of the time thankfully but we've definitely had our share of arguments about it. I have been trying to make sure I am making an effort with at least once a week or giving him some "attention" of some sort to help fill in.

We on a "normal" basis are like average of 3x a week (give or take haha)probably so I do feel very bad for throwing him way off like this. I never had the increased drive in my last pregnancy but it stayed about the same so this is weird and frustrating for both of us at times to deal with the low drive this time. We're just easing them in for post-partum right?! :)

    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @Ekzerr actually I've always had the higher drive between DH and I and now that mine's lower it's bad because neither of us are getting much of anything. It feels distant and weird. But in the first trimester we chose not to do it until the second trimester, but I felt more like it then. Ugh it's been weird. But during the first trimester when we didn't by choice and not by drive, we found other ways to be intimate that didn't require much work when I felt super nauseated. Maybe there's a little compromise you could do? If not, I really hope he can respect that for you. It's not like it's forever and he just has to wait. As the one in my marriage that has the higher drive, I can vouch for the fact that I survive just fine when DH doesn't feel like it.
  • @Ekzerr when I was pregnant with DS I had zero sex drive, DH tried to be understanding but we definitely had a few arguments about it. We tried once but it was painful so after that we didn't until after DS was born and I was fully recovered (about 10-12w after my c-section). This time, it's not nearly as bad but we still haven't just due to other things like the shifts we work (opposite of each other). Hopefully it gets better, and if not that your DH is understanding of it!

I've been having nose bleeds, which I googled (I know not the most reliable) and I guess it's common? I thought it was from how dry it's been in our apartment, which it may very well be, but I've had 2 in the past week. The one this morning was pretty bad. Anyone else having random nose bleeds?
