Pregnancy Chatter and Questions - Week of 10/31

Re: Pregnancy Chatter and Questions - Week of 10/31

  • @michaela080, does Diclegis make you drowsy?  Or have any other side effects.  I'm already struggling with exhaustion and fatigue and the Reglan makes it so I can barely keep my eyes open.  I might ask about switching.

This has brought up another question.. when do you start looking for a potential pediatrician?
We looked at practices that were close to our house and accepted our insurance in early 3rd trimester. It was an added benefit that they were affiliated with our hospital, but not something I would solve for. We sat down with the pedi who was our top choice and knew pretty quickly he was our guy - our philosophies just clicked. (Topics like immunizations, how he felt about our plans to take an international flight relatively early, etc.)

I've now just realized that I don't think he does rounds at our new hospital (switched ob practices) - oh well.

  • @Assiram42 it does but it doesn't... I'm a little extra fuzzy in the morning, but I also gave up coffee (but I really think it is the Diclegis since I take 2 at night).  I take it first thing, and I'm fine... then at/with lunch... the only time I get tired is around 3/4pm... it is worse of the weekends when I can succumb to the nap my body is fighting for but I push through at work just fine.  From reading the warnings/side effects where it says don't operate machinery, etc. I was worried I wouldn't be able to drive to work, etc. but its been a non-issue.  Most days I'm fine... at least it isn't GI side effects like Zofran, I could never do that again... my OB offered to give me Zofran for 'as needed' times in addition to the Diclegis but I told her no thanks!!
  • Sad things that may be a TW - DH's coworker and is wife were pregnant, about 4 weeks ahead of us. Hubby just called me - they found no heartbeat at the 12 week appointment today.  I could do nothing but close my office door and cry and cry.  It makes me anxious for our own little chalupa as well.

  • @Wearmi1 again, every person is different. I was back to pre-pregnancy weight 2 weeks postpartum. I breastfed and I was active my entire pregnancy. I ran up until I was 36 weeks and then walked after that. 6 months is definitely doable! I can't imagine that stress hanging over my head.

@MKRLTX you're a great friend because the last thing I wanted to do within the first month of having my son was dress up fancy when I was leaking from everywhere. It's definitely doable but the thought is exhausting.
