This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.

Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility".

I guess I'll start too.

Today I am 16+2 with my three littles. I normally go to my MFM every two weeks, but he is out of town next week, so I'm going in today even though I just saw him last Monday. I've excited to see the babes again, but a bit bummed that DH won't be coming. Today he is going to do an in depth scan of baby C with a quick check of the other two.

QOTW: I started my BRU registry last week because they had a coupon. I've had a secret Amazon registry for a few weeks now. I still need to go to Target or see if it would be better to do online. I've also started a bit of baby shower planning with my SIL and mom. SIL is hosting at her house, and my mom is helping with the invites and some other stuff. I think now that we've picked a theme, it's pretty much in their hands, and I get to be surprised on January 29th!

This will be my last week on the 2nd trimester board, it's so crazy to think about!
I have an appointment today: it will be my glucose test and I think my Tdap (not sure though.) I've started getting bad heartburn on a regular basis, so I'm taking Xantac now instead of just Tums. 
QotW: I started an Amazon registry and a couple weeks ago, DH and I went to Buy Buy Baby and did a registry there. This week we'll probably go to my MIL's house and do an inventory as she's been collecting things from the families that she nannies for, and then we'll finish the registry. I have a date set for both of my baby showers (Dec 3rd and Jan 7th.) I gave the hostesses basic info about that I wanted and then I'll let them loose.

Hi!! 

I'm so happy to be joining you all on the second trimester board. 

Today I am14 weeks exactly. My next appointment is November 12th. I wish I had one sooner to know that little bit is ok.

I haven't stated a registry yet, but I have stated taking inventory of what I need. My best friend is letting is borrow a ton of stuff, so there is not a lot we need to register for. I do know I will register through Target.

@AandDM2014 I'm glad you get to go see the babies today!

@dragonfaerie My heartburn is also horrible. It doesn't matter what I eat, it never seems to go away! I hope your appointment went well also!

@clt2pwm11 Happy graduation! 

I started a Babies R Us and Target registry many weeks ago, but kept them private. I just needed a place to compare and keep track of things. In the last 2-3 weeks I moved everything to Babies R Us and cancelled out my Target registry. Babies R Us has a lot of incentives (money back on all registry purchases, 10% off all remaining items, price matching, and a 1 year return policy), plus they had everything we need. I stalk the sh!t out of it

I was informed by my shower planners that I am not allowed to be involved in any way. They won't even tell me the date, even though I'm pretty positive I already know when it is (November 26th ). But they are excellent party planners, so I trust them to make it fabulous. I had only one request: that people bring a book with a message inside instead of a card so baby can already have a nice little library. My husband also requested to have guests write silly messages or draw pictures on diapers like he saw at another shower. Other than that, I just have to look nice any time I'm invited somewhere... Just in case!

@clt2pmw11 Welcome to the second tri! I'm sorry you have to wait so long for your next appointment. And awesome that your friend is letting you borrow a bunch of stuff! That'll be great, especially if baby doesn't like any of it because you didn't buy it! And I got to see them last week, and I'll see them again in two weeks. One of the perks of being pregnant with triplets! But it is still nice to see them so often, it helps ease my worries about how thing are going.

Thanks @NurseTMD85! I wish I could just do Amazon and BRU, but Target has the only cribs I like. I swear I've looked at 500 different cribs, and didn't find any other that I liked as much as I like the ones I finally settled on. I'm still not sure if I'm going to include the Target one on my invites just because cribs is the only thing I'm going to put on it. I love your book idea too. I should remind my mom to include that on the invites!

Appointment update: Everyone was looking good. Like we found out last week about Baby A, Baby C also has VCI but my MFM isn't worried at all. He'll keep checking them both at each appointment but there is nothing to be done about it. Baby A was not interested in having her picture taken, so she's upside down in the one he finally printed.

Hi all, 17 weeks tomorrow. No apt this week but another ob check in next Thursday.

qotw: I started a buybuybaby and bru registry a few weeks ago. Not that we know it's a boy I started really adding things on both registries. I know my shower is Feb 25th and where it is but my sisters aren't letting me help plan . I should be happy it's one less thing to do but I love party planning so I have been trying to throw in some ideas here and there. My one requirement is I want a popcorn bar along with the normal cake and treats.

Hi All!

I am officially 14w today with a singleton! My due date is 5/1/17. We did the MaterniT21 test and should have results this week, I'm so excited to find out baby's gender!! My next appt is the 7th and I will be doing my 1hr glucose test then. Due to a few factors, my OB is considering me high risk (age, ivf, pcos), this is also the reason for the early glucose testing. 

I just got back from Ohio, where I told family friends the news. The response was overwhelmingly supportive and excited! We still need to tell DH's siblings and mom, hopefully this next weekend. 

QOTW: My bff and mom mentioned dates for the shower while I was home in Ohio this weekend, I think they are leaning towards Feb. 25th. I'll be almost 31w at that point and with traveling so far, they wanted to get it in a little early. I'm guessing my in laws will also want to have a shower here in Illinois, but that hasn't been discussed yet.  I have started looking at some items for a registry, I know I want to do something through Amazon, as it will be easy for family and friends out of town but also Target or BuyBuyBaby or a store like that.

Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend. 
This is my last week on 2nd trimester board. I'm excited that things are moving along, but seems like time is flying.
I am now seeing my OB every two weeks, but still seeing my perinatologist every month. I have an appointment this week and next week. 
QOTW - My mom, sis and SIL were trying to throw me a surprise shower but I finagled my way into taking over. Since I'm high risk we're going to have it next month. All the details haven't been finalized but we hope to have everything all set at least by next week. I started my registry a while back. At first I was going to do babies r us and buy buy baby, but I realized buy buy baby is way more expensive and that babies r us is more convenient for us.

@WishingforLuck I'm so happy that you've almost made it to the third tri! Good choice having yours early due to being high risk. I too am having mine when I'll be 28+1 because the babies could come any time after 28 weeks!

AS of today we are 14w and 3d......Our next appointment is on November 18, I believe its just a follow up/check up appointment, because I remember them saying there will be no ultrasound,

Hi Ladies! Sounds like everyone is doing well!

I am 16+4 today and have an OB appt on Thursday with an ultrasound.  LO was measuring a few days small at the last appt so my OB just wants to see how he's doing.  I've had a cold and cough since the end of September so we finally broke down and put me on antibiotics and an inhaler since I've started wheezing, so that hasn't been super fun.  Hopefully that does the trick or my OB is sending me to a specialist.

QOTW: No registry for us since this is our second, but since we are having the same gender again we already have everything!  I took a lot of time debating on what to put on there with my first and even had some friends that already have babies do a look through.  There's so much stuff out there and a lot of it you really don't need, but there are some really essential items!

Happy Halloween! Congrats to the ladies that have moved on to 3rd tri this week, and welcome to the new ladies!

We have started putting together the nursery- we have the crib, dresser and rocker- I am so excited to choose paint and get going on the decor and details. I have an appointment tomorrow- just the monthly appt, no ultrasound.

QOTW: I know my shower is in early January- my sister and Mom are planning it. I have registries on Babylist and Amazon.. not completely done but I have added quite a bit to it. I am mostly using it as a place to gather stuff not only for people to buy gifts from but also to remind myself things I need to get! I am loving Babylist, you can add things from any site, have registries from other stores linked and add things like gift cards. Check it out!!

I have a question. A girl I know is due eight days before me but just found out the gender of her baby. Meanwhile, I don't get to have that ultrasound until Dec. 15th! How is it possible for her to already know? She is "accidentally" pregnant after coming of bc (another mystery to me. Ill never understand people who get pregnant accidentally). Is there some special thing I don't know about?!

@clt2pwm11 she could've done the maternity21 test but a local 3D u/s place by me does gender determination u/s's starting at 14 weeks for $50. That's how we found out early as insurance didn't cover any of the blood tests that told you the sex.

@clt2pwm11 I was 15+2 last week at our ultrasound where we found out the sexes of the babies. If you're just having one there is a pretty standard blood test you can have done that'll tell you which one you're having. I don't know if it is time specific, but most of the people I've seen who have taken it have done it before their NT scan, or had the blood drawn at the NT scan.
Edit: I think if you opt not to do the blood test you'll find out at your anatomy scan, which is usually around 20 weeks.

Ok, I guess that makes sense. Although you'd think offering the blood test would be standard practice. Nobody mentioned it to me! We were told we would find out at the anatomy scan.

@clt2pwm11 Im not sure if this was said or not but maybe she had the NATERA bloodwork done.

I did mine and got the results + gender in about a week!

Hi everyone I'm 16 weeks 5 days today with a singleton baby girl! I found out the gender via the panorama blood test. My next ultrasound is Friday. I also leave Friday for my babymoon to Iceland!

I haven't registered anywhere yet. I think after the anatomy scan I will. I recently went to a baby shower and it kind of overwhelmed me with how much stuff there was!  Maybe I'm ridiculous, but I would really like to stick to the absolute essentials!?

@Knottie36622473 Iceland! How fun! I'm going there in roughly three weeks with my college roomie. It's our last hurrah for awhile! I tried to get husband to go, but he says he has no interest in international travel. . .and yet now he is super mopey that he isn't going with us! What kinds of activities are you planning? We are doing some fun excursions to waterfalls and to a glacier.

Hello ladies! I still have yet to feel any movement( I made a post last week about it) but my next appt is Thursday so I'm really hoping I get some reassurance. It's still driving me crazy. Another then that, all is well.

AandDM2014..my EDD is sometime the end of March. The longest he said he would let me go is the 27th

QOTW: I have yet to register. I think this whole movement (or lack there of) has been messing with my mind. Thursday, if everything is ok, I will be registering.

Hey everyone! I forget to check in here sometimes... I am 14 weeks + a few days and due April 28th. This will be my second child, but first girl. We conceived though our first cycle of IVF/FET with our only PGS normal embryo. 

QOTW: We will not do a registry for this baby because we already have a 2.5 year old and obviously have most of the big items. I'm guessing my work might do a sprinkle or something, but other than that we are all good. Also, baby will live with us in our room for the first 6 months to a year, so no nursery. She and DS will eventually share a big room together for their early childhood years. I can't wait to live vicariously through all of you guys though!

@clt2pwm11 That's so cool you are going too! I hear it's one of the most popular destinations right now. We are doing some glacier hiking, visiting an ice cave, a plethora of waterfalls, some beaches, the northern lights, and the blue lagoon! (I just booked my prenatal massage there today!) They have these amazing in the water massages! Definitely look into it @ the Blue Lagoon! I'm hearing the downside is the food isn't really good.

@BornReady We are not making a nursery either. We are sharing a room for the first 6 months- 1 year as well. So that's part of the reason I wonder if I need all the traditional baby shower stuff. We really want to stick to just the basics. Any input on what we really need what be great. I'm trying to be minimalist about it. I've slowly been decluttering my house too and plan on doing more.

Hi all!  I am 22 weeks 4 days and we found out a few weeks ago that we are having B/G twins, EDD 3/3/2017.    

We had the anatomy scan almost two weeks ago and during that they determined that twin A's (the boy's) placenta is completely blocking my cervix, giving me total placenta previa - yikes!  A little worried and scared about what that can mean for me and the babies but staying hopeful all will go smoothly.  

Went in yesterday for their heart scans (because we were IVF) and babies are looking completely normal and healthy - thank goodness! They were both very squirmy during their ultrasounds, the techs had a hard time getting all the different pictures. They were dancing away in there, it was funny and pretty cute.  

Currently working on a registry through Babylist and reorganizing my house to make space- kinda overwhelmed with how much stuff we need for two babies but getting more and more excited the further we go!

@Knottie36622473 We are going to the Blue Lagoon! We are going there in our first day so We can relax before checking in to our airb&b. We looked into the ice cave, but when we emailed the company and told them I was pregnant, they told us it wasn't safe for pregnant women. Apparently there's quite a bit of belly crawling and slippage.

@frustrated and ttc sorry you haven't felt any movement yet, but I can tell you it doesn't help with the worrying. I will feel my little one moving away for several days and then nothing at all for several days (which my doc says is normal until after 24 weeks when you should always fell certain #s of movements per day). So it is almost more stressful because I worry that I can't feel her for days on end....you can't win

I will be 18 weeks on Thursday and our next appointment is November 21st. I have started a registry with buy buy baby and BRU, putting most of the stuff on BRU due to the 10% "bonus" on items purchased. I find it very overwhelming as there is sooooo much stuff. So then I consulted one of the books I saw someone mention and it got to be even more overwhelming! My friends have started to discuss my shower which they plan to have in January some time- I am so excited to celebrate with friends and family after our struggle to have this little miracle!!!

@nirendoll I also have complete placenta previa. My OB told me that it pretty much means I'll have a c section vs a vaginal delivery and he won't let me go past 37.5-38 weeks as it can cause issues. I found out at around 15 weeks when I had a random bleeding episode which scared the crap out of me. Turns out it's easier for the baby to kick the placenta, causing the bleeding. Sex is unfortunately off limits as it can cause bleeding as well. I was also told to rest my pelvis, not do anything straneous or even go on long walks/hikes. Every time I go for an ultrasound, I'm being asked if I had any more bleeding since week 15. You just have to be more careful, take it easy and mentally prepare for a CS.

@clt2pwm11 that's interesting! Mine had no such warning...strange! We contacted our tour company in advance too, they have different tour difficulty ratings and they had pregnancy info on the site faqs page. Everything on our 3 day tour is "easy" and was considered safe for pregnant women unless otherwise stated by our doctor. Which tour company are you using? The only tours I was told I can't do were the dog sledding and the Silfra snorkeling tour . I'll let you know if it ends up being as you described. Worse case I sit back!

@dragonfaerie and @WishingforLuck Congratulations on moving up to 3rd tri next week! I'm sorry you are having heartburn, @dragonfaerie. Mine was really bad until I quit CoQ10, but I still get it every once in a while. It's good to know there is something stronger than tums that's safe for us to take.

@frustrated and ttc Have you had your anatomy scan? I can barely feel baby even though during the scan she looked like she was doing the bicycle with her little legs completely stretched out in front of her. I know how valuable reassurances are and hope you have a great visit this week! 

The anatomy scan was fun (except for the surprise pelvic portion ). They were unable to get good images of the heart because of baby's position so we will be getting an echocardiogram. I found out I have an anterior placenta/marginal placenta previa. The anterior part is kind of a relief because when I feel movement it's not as obvious that it's her as when I felt swishing early on. I would probably be more worried about the previa if it wasn't for this board and learning more about it a month ago (I know marginal isn't the same as complete, but thank you for sharing @Tulips29 - hope all is well in 3rd tri!).

QOTW: We were thinking we didn't want/need much, but there's actually lots of stuff we want now and I've learned from you ladies that if you register and buy off your registry, you get discounts so we are definitely planning to do that even though we don't plan to have a shower. Plus, people will likely still buy us stuff and it's better to give them suggestions. We have very slowly been building private lists on Amazon. Babylist sounds great - thanks for the suggestion!

@Knottie36622473 Maybe you booked a different trip than what we looked at?? Here is exactly what their email said:

Golden Circle & Caving is quite physical. The Golden Circle is fine bu the caving part we don't recommend someone who's pregnant to go on. The cave is quite narrow at some places and you will have to crawl or roll. Instead I would recommend you to take the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon where you bathe in the warm Secret Lagoon. Or you could also do the Golden Circle + that's a Golden Circle tour in a small group where you go around the Golden Circle and take some extra stops along the way which are usually not included in other Golden Circle tours. 

We ended up doing Golden Circle+ I believe. Like you said, just do what you are comfortable with! Listen to your body. You're going to have the best time.

@nirendoll sorry to hear about your placenta previa. I also had this in the beginning of my pregnancy but at my last perinatologist visit I was told it went away on it's own. So fingers crossed the same happens for you.

@WishingforLuck early on, I was told placenta moves so it was a possibility. At 24 weeks and now at 28 weeks I was told it's pretty much not moving at this point. 

@mrygoround thanks! I was also scared about the previa until I read up about it and my OB reassured me it's not as bad as I thought. The biggest fear is still bleeding, so I'm hoping not to have any at all anymore.

Coming over from the 1st trimester board. I'm currenty 14w3d with a singleton with an EDD of 4/30. We are having a 3D/4D u/s on the 19th to find out the gender. 

QOTW - Have you started any baby shower or registry planning yet? If so, what have you planned?

I actually became overwhelmed planning my nieces baby shower that I told my family I didnt want one but they are not happy about the idea so I guess I have no choice but to have one. I will most likely start my registry/planning after my anatomy scan on 12/6.

Welcome @Steff_99! I can totally understand being overwhelmed by baby shower stuff. Luckily, since it's your baby who is being celebrated, all you should have to do is show up! I've given my SIL and mom a few ideas and suggestions about what theme and invites I'd like, but now it's up to them. If I come across any cute stuff I'll send it along, but I've been told it's going to be somewhat of a surprise so no helping!

@Steff_99  Welcome! I second @AandDM2014 's comments. I've told mom and bff a general idea of what I'd like (including favorite foods lol) but they are handling it all from there. Try not to stress and let everyone else handle it for you!
