Re: FFFC 10/28

  • My FFFC is that I hope the Indians win the World Series. Not because I give a flying crap. I'm just SO SICK of all the bandwagon fans posting on FB every 10 seconds. I just want them to shut up.

  • @bacorrea Same, It also weirds me out to see the pregnant women with baby (doll) parts hanging all bloodied out of their stomaches.

  • @SparkySunDevil I'm with you!! Although I'm a Cardinals fan (Cubs rival) so I have extra reason to not like the cubs. But living in Indianapolis I feel like everyone is suddenly a cubs fan. Plus all the people who have always been fans. It's just way too much. Go Indians! (This game is the only reason I'm still awake unfortunately)
  • (Sorry to be late to the game...)

@kat81 Your work confession sounds familiar! I'm not teaching this term, but I have two reviews staring me in the face and a research paper that just needs two more comments incorporated (two!) but I can't bring myself to open the document. I think I'm just paralyzed by the amount of work I have to do. Anyways, a sympathetic shout-out also from academia! :#

@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot No judgment here...I'm pretty sure I will only truly like my own kids (and maybe my BFF's). I have a brother who's 14 years younger than me and I've always liked him, but I was always indifferent toward his friends (even when they were really young). Hopefully that doesn't make me a bad person?

@NurseK2016 I hope you enjoy your doppler and I hope your Cubbies win! My older brother is a big fan, and they've always had a soft spot in my heart right behind the Reds (who, let's face it, are sorta sad).

    Happy Saturday, all! :)

I know it's saturday now, but I really enjoyed reading so many of these. I hate those costumes too. I saw one tonight where the kid was from the texas chainsaw massacre. I felt like that was soooo inappropriate for a little kids trunk or treat. We also met someone at the park who was dressing their two year old as chuckie....
and @chickyclg my husband and I were just talking about how weird it was when women have the baby sticking out of their belly. Maybe it's just me but after losing two it makes me think of that and I just think it's horrifying.

I hope to order a doppler soon too... what brand do you ladies like? I don't want to spend much, and I'm not sure my husband will even go for it, but it sure would be nice to hear them!

As for my confession, my in laws wanted to stay with us this weekend but I told DH that i thought we'd be too busy getting ready for our halloween party so they needed to stay elsewhere. Honestly, my mom is doing the cooking so all we have to do is decorate, but I didn't feel like hosting all weekend. I'M TIRED.

Zombie babies protruding from bellies or baby zombies in general are creepy. But beyond that, I'm fine with toddler  zombies and serial killer dolls. Just because a kid is dressed like a zombie, it doesn't mean they watch the Walking Dead. I don't watch TWD (FFFC?), so I have no dea how inappropriate it would be for what age. I don't plan on censoring my kids' tv/music too much. I'll monitor screen time and they won't be watching GOT with me anytime soon. But if they want to be something scary on Halloween, I'm fine with that.

I don't watch Walking Dead either, but from what I gather it's probably worse on the gore aspect than GOT. My friend hadn't her 5 year old son's bday party and it was a Walking Dead theme and he was dressed as the main character and he watches weekly. In that case, I knew the kid was watching the show.
