There have been some complaints about what a catch-all the "Pregnancy Chatter" weekly thread is and how long it gets so I'm making a thread for symptoms and appointments, too. We haven't done any of them as a weekly thread yet so let's try it out.
What randomness do you want to talk about?

I remember now how lame it is that time difference makes such a big deal on The Bump. Unless I have insomnia, which I inevitably will so it'll be fine eventually, I kind of wander the boards in the early morning hours and its SILENT. And I would gif, but I can't seem to nail it on mobile.

Are you on ET? I'm Pacific and remember with my last BMB, once our board became really active, there would be a daily spam thread with 3+ pages by the time I checked around 8am. Then it would be dead by the time I was ready to play in the evening.
When do y'all plan on telling your boss you are KU? Is it customary to just tell them when you announce to everyone else or should you tell them sooner?
@riverraine No, I'm on GMT. I typically spoke mostly with west coast people last time because my early morning is your evening. I'm either 4 or 5 hours later than the EST depending on daylight savings since we don't change.
@motherhubbard19 I'm going to tell my boss and the rest of my management team when I'm 12 weeks. This will be when my first appointed is so I will have a for sure due date. I tell work early in case of anything bad happening throughout my pregnancy so if time off is needed, they know why.
We have a halloween costume contest at work and I'll announce it to my boss and company then (small company of about 25/30). I'll be 9 weeks by then and saw a heartbeat last week which is usually what I wait for to disclose to my boss.

I told my boss on Friday, but that's because my appointments are 45 away from home, so I will have to work from home those days.
I think I'll like this set up much better.. thanks!!
I plan to tell my boss in the next couple of weeks, for two reasons: I'll have to leave work early for appointments and want her to understand why it keeps happening. Also, if anything were to go wrong I'm sure I would tell her that anyway.
My bosses are not going to be happy because I am due right around a huge event that I am in charge of so I am dreading telling them. I'll probably wait until I figure out someone to be my assistant for the event that can run it when I can't be there.
I think I will try and make it past my loss date after 12 weeks. I am a teacher and my due date puts me after school gets out so I am hoping it won't be a big deal for them.

I told my boss the Monday after I got my BFP! However, my situation is a little different because my whole office (only 4 people) knows about my IF issues because my RE is 1.5 hours away from my office so I was missing work a couple of hours in the morning every other week.
@loopstation104 I feel you on the time difference and trying to participate in board discussions. I'm stuck in my own time zone (Alaska) so I tend to be late to the party.
Where I work it is literally just my boss and I, since she owns her own company. The nature of my job is interesting, and I work with chemicals so I'm taking the necessary precautions right now but I'm waiting to tell her after I hear a heartbeat and the doctor tells me everything is ok at my appointment next week. I figured that there's no need to get my boss all worked up until I know for sure things are good to go as much as possible.
I feel like the boards, as a whole, are freaking dead. I don't know what happened during my two year hiatus but it sucks.
I'll be waiting until sometime in the 2nd tri. This pregnancy is going to require me to relinquish my position so I want to make sure it's actually happening, first, while still giving her plenty of time to find a replacement.

This. I'm guessing it had to do with the exodus in spring 2016. The regs on my BMB had moved to Facebook by then so I didn't really see the whole thing go down but that seems to be when activity slowed down and all the ridiculous rules/thread organization started.
I work part time at the gym in the kids club where people drop their kids while they workout. I already told my boss and some co workers so they know what's going on if I'm too nauseated to do anything! I am also in school and student teaching so I told one of my teachers who teaches 3 of my classes and the teacher in the class I'm in just in case I'm sick or anything happens. This way they won't send me home if I puke!

Many long term regs left January 2014. There was a TOS crackdown, bans all over the place. There have been smaller groups leaving here and there but this was an actual measurable decline in traffic and posts overall (Parenting leaving probably made up 90% of that). This is my first time back since then. The folks that left made another board but the BMBs there are really slow.

I also think its just early. To be fair, my last BMB was insane (April 14) but I met the most amazing people. I've been lurking on some other BMB's and they do seem a lot tamer.

I assumed a crackdown on the TOS had to have happen, the boards are so much more... nice. Too nice. I much preferred when it was acceptable- and normal- to call someone out for being a dumbass.
I didn't mind the GBCB's! If you couldn't hang, don't.
I wonder of TB regrets their crackdown decision? Every board I've been on is DEAD. It can't possibly help their advertising to have the number of clicks down.
I didn't mind the GBCB's either. It was all awesomely entertaining. And like I said, I met some seriously awesome ladies. Its hard not to call out the bullshit, also. The April 14 in me is biting my tongue sometimes!!
Re: Telling work. Last time I told my boss when I hit 2nd tri. I didn't "tell" anyone else. Just got bigger and bigger and let people wonder until someone finally asked. I am not one that enjoys the attention pregnancy brings so that suited me just fine.
It's when someone was, rather bluntly, told they were being ridiculous about something and they responded with how mean everyone is and that they're quitting the bump.

I'm on GMT with you most of the time,so we can morning post together.
So I somehow just discovered Hamilton. I had heard about it, and assumed it was something that people were just overly excited about. Then I was talking to a friend the other day and she mentioned that a lot of the songs are raps. Done. Two of my favorite things, rap and history smashed together. I downloaded spotify so that I could start listening to all the songs, addicted. Late to the party, but at least I arrived.

I'm not working, so I have no boss to tell, but I ended up having to announce my pregnancy to everyone at about 7 weeks last time because I had killer morning sickness.
@BelhurstBride I think everyone is just tame in this BMB...for now! I think it's still early. I prefer blunt honesty and maybe a little snark over sunshine and rainbows and unicorn farts any day.
@Cryscross1009 Try listening to "Dear Thedosia" while pregnant without crying!
@Xath I feel you! We are going to New Orleans the week of Thanksgiving and I plan on eating beignets the entire time to make up for not being able to drink!
@Cryscross1009 & @CurlyMommy416 I LOVE Hamilton! I teach US History and pretty much play it every day in my class!
I am planning on telling my principal around 10 weeks. I won't be taking a maternity leave until next school year, but I want him to know because of doctor appointments and stuff.
Another Hamilton addict here. I've listened to the soundtrack so many times, and I still hear something new each time. I love when art and history come together into something accessible and enjoyable, and I think Hamilton does that in the best way I have ever experienced.
Three things... 1. I can't be the only one with 2 lbs of Sour Patch Kids, right? 2. Why is this the ONLY food in my house that sounds at all appetizing? 3. Why does my husband buy these things? lol
