Symptoms - Week of 10/24

Re: Symptoms - Week of 10/24

  • @MotherofDragons I'm really worried about gaining too much weight, too!  This weekend we took a few pictures, and I felt like I looked really fat.  Thank you, bloat!  I told DH that we have to start walking 30 minutes a day and I am going to start back doing some low-weight, high-rep, weight training.  I've been so lazy since my BFP! It doesn't help that I've had zero energy.

  • I honestly don't remember feeling this sick last time. I can't tell if its because I didn't have a toddler so I just slept when I felt like it or I actually didn't feel this bad. Or maybe there is a huge difference between being 34 and 37? Or is that after birth "forgetting" hormone that good? If so, they should bottle that up. (I know, I know, every pregnancy is different...)

  • @Assiram42 I was going to make tacos tonight because my husband loves them, called him on his way home and said I couldn't do it.  He will have leftovers and I will decide between grilled cheese or cereal.  Planning meals while pregnant is quite a task.

Ever since someone (maybe you?) posted about cereal, pb/jelly, and grilled cheese, that's all I've been living off of.

  • Yay for breaking out threads! The chatter, ugh. I saw some last week about coffee I wanted to jump in but by the time I got to it it was 3 pages late.

nausea here. It's weird thoygh last week on tues I felt like crap all day, then all week I was mostly ok, twinges if I was hungry or too full. But fine, yay. Today? Back to the major nausea. Like I'm super carsick. I felt bad enough driving that I grabbed a bag. Hunger or eating doesn't help.

Thus us is brand new for me. I'm so thankful it isn't worse, but I'm not even 6w so it could get worse before better. And I'm a sahm of 3 small kids annnnd we are moving this coming month. I don't have time to feel sick !!!

  • @pghctwife me, too! I was thinking over the weekend "wow.. that horrible nausea just went away." Today? Back with a vengeance... car sick is a good way to describe it! I just told my mom I've felt hungover all day.

  • I've got nausea. Brushing my teeth is a challenge because I end up gagging. And the past couple of days I've had major chills. I went home and took my temp today because I was convinced that I had a fever and was cooking my baby. My temp was only 98!

@meg2704 I'm right there with you in the big boobie crew. Been rubbing belly balm on those bad boys since two weeks ago and have been wearing my running bra everyday.
  • @HollyGolightly09
see hung over for me is more throbbing headache dehydration and tired lol. This is straight up carsick! Blechhhhh

dinner tonight was nauseating so all I ate was broccoli and now I feel ok. I'm extremely curious to see when dh gets home if he lijes the main course or not... If it's really gross or just me.

So far I think this pregnancy is easier than my first and nausea isn't too bad but am I exhausted or what!!!! Probably keeping up with an insanely fast crawler that gets into everything isn't helping. I'm also dealing with insomnia. Exhausted but struggle to fall asleep last night I was tossing n turning for an hour before I finally dozed off.
I haven't lost all of the weight from my first pregnancy so I'm really needing to watch the weight this time to not go over my ending weight last time.

Edited cause the sleeplessness is messing with my spelling.
  • Oh and the heartburn is already starting! Not bad whatsoever, but I only get it preg. I get it horribly, high rx level meds by the end. Doesn't bode well lol

  • Full on exhaustion hit this weekend along with gagging when I brush my teeth.  I've also been eating like a pig but that's probably more in my head than an actual symptom.
  • Well, I was enjoying my delicious dinner roll when suddenly my body said, "you're full, stop eating immediately." So I spit out my dinner roll and half gagged. My husband was so confused.

Sudden food aversion is so delightful.

Im officially in the "awkward" phase... my belly is getting rounder and harder. I've always had a flat stomach so it is quite noticeable especially after lunch. I have zero loose shirts besides t-shirts that are not work appropriate. This bloat is real.

Full blown exhausation reared its ugly head today. I'm hoping it's just a case of the Mondays but this is the same time I would be so sleepy when pregnant with DS that I would nap on the toilet at work. Those five minutes were refreshing. lol
  • @hollygolightly09 Me tooooooo.  I'm awake every night from 12:30 to 3:30 or so.  It's driving me insane.  However, I was getting mildly anxious because I don't otherwise have any real symptoms...so thanks for posting. Anxiety relief!

The nausea has arrived.  I woke up around 4:30 to go to the restroom, and want so badly to fall back asleep.  Nope.  I am awake and nauseous.  Let's get the day started!

I'm nervous with how today will go.  Morning sickness has never hit me while at work until yesterday, and my kids have no idea I'm pregnant yet.
  • @WorkingOnMyNightCheese Last night my left nipple felt like it was in FLAMES. And this morning my boobs hurt...

  • Week 6 has begun with vengeance.  I had been feeling really great these last 2 weeks, then yesterday and today happened.  Full on nauseous this morning, with no desire to eat anything ever.  I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, even though I went to bed at 9pm and slept through the night.  All I can do is hope my symptoms are intermittent and quick in their departure.
  • I lost the battle to the "all day" sickness last night. All I wanted to do is cough but instead I lost my dinner! Still feeling very nauseous this morning and trying to figure out how to eat and be sick at the same time. I almost can not stop peeing I am a teacher and I took my students on a "bathroom" trip because I could not hold it the whole class and I had just gone 45mins before!!! Tomorrow we are going on a feild trip worried I may pee myself!

  • @amberp1528 If you have any heavy flow pads, they might be a good backup in case you're scared you won't make it to a bathroom in time.

The Mr cracked a joke about adult diapers to me the other day and I said not a joke, maybe a good idea
    hahahaha

  • oh god it is certainly not new, but my general sickness is getting worse.  I have actually yet to throw up, which i am grateful for, but i am pretty much just nauseous ALL THE TIME.  I am surviving on bagels and ramen...
  • @silliegirlie143 I said the same thing to my husband last night!! He did not think it was a good idea but I sure do because holding it these days is practically impossible!

Anyone else know they are dehydrated because they know they aren't drinking enough due to nausea?

I've been super sick, while nauseated I barely drink 12oz of anything I can keep down a day... which is so little compared to the 3L+ I used to drink.

My doctor recommended I go to one of those hydration stations for IV fluids... she said I could go to a hospital but the bill would be significantly more expensive.

DH and I talked about it the other day before I even went in to my OB due to losing 7 lbs over the last week...but I'm just really surprised she suggested it!

Anyone done this pre-pregnancy or during pregnancy yet?

    Edit: mobile autocorrect is terrible....
  • @michaela0704 I've been having problems with drinking enough water.  I can't stomach the taste of tap water anymore so I've been drinking a lot of lemonade which isn't good because of all the sugar.  I've also been drinking Lacroix sparkling water and Pedialyte as well.
  • @michaela0704 and @Wearmi1 I am having the same problem an ER nurse told me to do vitamin water and gaderade that way I am
    getting the electrolytes

  • @amberp1528 yes, I've moved over to Gatorade at the suggestion of my doctor at my appointment yesterday and have successfully drank a little over 20 oz so far today, I feel a lot better now, but I am hitting the nausea from every angel now... seabands, gatorade, Diclegis at night, and probably an IV at one of my local hydration stations... considering once per week until I am through this severe nausea and vomiting.

I'm still in a saltines, Gatorade, and bread only situation.

FX my oral health doesn't go to he'll over this...
  • @michaela0704 I had never herd of those because I would think about doing one too as I am always dehydrated I have only thrown up once but feeling sick all the time does make me want to drink at all my husband is constantly reminding me but it so hard!

  • So I just went to the pharmacy to pick up my progesterone refill and they asked how I was feeling... when I mentioned the nausea they said to try peppermint hard candies. I popped one in and it's like a magic pill. While I don't feel 100%, it definitely helped! Worth giving a try if you've got a sick belly like me right now.
  • Add me to the food aversion group... I made dinner in the crock pot only to come home and gag when I smelt it, so went to Panera instead and could barely eat my half sandwich... last time I lost 15 pounds the first trimester, so I'm hoping it won't be as bad this time!

  • @WorkingOnMyNightCheese I know others who swear by peppermint.  I'm happy it works for some and I hope some ladies here get relief from your tip.  Sadly that has never helped me.  I'm living on saltines.  Even lemonade isn't helping me this time.  Just gross
  • *runs to buy peppermint candy*
  • Paging fellow nausea sufferers - Gin Gins (ginger hard candies) saved me last pregnancy and I was so happy to have a few today when it kicked in!
    Me 37, DH 40

    BFP #2 9/2/16, CP confirmed 9/8/16
    BFP #3 10/10/16 EDD 6/22/17
  • GinGins are great! So is the tub of pretzels I bought at Costco. I can't do lemonade or Gatorade or anything like that because the sweets are making the nausea worse.
So salty snacks to the rescue!

  • My boobs hurt sooooooo bad. I'm exhausted and almost require a daily nap.  It's pretty much exactly like my first pregnancy.

OH and the crazy dreams..... completely utterly bizarre dreams.  Hope these go away soon.
  • Seriously, I'm pretty sure the zombies are trying to kill me from 2-330pm everyday! I seriously feel like they take over my body at hay time tine and I'm left with no energy and complete exhaustion!

plus my nipples hurt so bad! And I'm not sleeping well! And I get hot flashes and then cold chills! So weird! Didn't have any of this with DS!
  • @Ahutch428 I did the exact same thing last night!  I made chicken fajita soup in the Crockpot and couldn't stomach it.  I ended up throwing it away and eating cereal.
