My 1 year old is a monster

As soon as my LO turned 1 she turned completely miserable. My happy baby is gone and she is just ALWAYS MISERABLE. Screams and cries non stop. Is this normal? There's nothing I can even do to pacify her

Re: My 1 year old is a monster

  • My guy turns 1 in 2.5 weeks. For the last month he was like this. Even worse at daycare. They even made me take him to the pediatrician to rule out anything medical. He even started waking up in the middle of the night and he has not done that for six months. Last week however, it all stopped. He is back to his smiley, happy, giggling self. It's a phase, it does get better. Hang in there cause I know it's rough and frustrating. My advice is find something to distract your LO. For us it was a lot of time outside and going other places. He was fine in public, just not at home or at daycare

  • Could it be growth spurt? babies tend to go through big changes every 3-4 months and for a few weeks they can seem like a new child. I think if you give it time she will readjust. Even now my 2.4 year old does this. Long periods of regular behavior then a tiny terror shines its nose at me! If the behavior is worrisome take her to the Dr and make sure she doesn't have an ear infection or something. It also could be a food sensitivity. At about a year old you start introducing new food. Maybe something isn't sitting right with her? Take care! Let us know what happens.
  • Thanks ladies!   I never even thought of an ear infection. This all makes me feel a little better though. We introduced milk a few weeks ago and it wasn't agreeing with her so I switched to almond milk. She has just lost interest in it completely and isn't drinking any now. I've been giving her Tylenol bc she's definitely teething too, are there any other symptoms of an ear infection I could look for??
  • Ear infections are always associated with colds. Has she been sick recently?
  • She was sick like the second week of this month. But she hasn't had a fever or anything?? She is teething also
  • My DD did this a few weeks ago, everything made her cry so easily and she would put her head down and cry with frustration. I felt bad for her. Turns out she was growing 3 in those few weeks. She also got another bottom tooth.
