bleh. that sucks maybe try watching youtube videos of puppies and kittens before bed. lol I have no idea if that would help. that's my pretend medical opinion
I have one about once a week but not that often. Are you stressing? Are you worried about anything? I find that when I'm stressing I tend to have nightmares. Is there anything that you can do before bed to ease your mind? Reading a book maybe?
Could it be a medicine you're taking? I seem to recall some women here mentioned having nightmares when they started taking diclegis. either way, I am sorry to hear this!
I've been having the "unprepared" dream a lot. Like, you show up to class and find out it's the day of the final and you haven't attended all semester. Or, last night, I had a dream that my husband and I were getting re-married, and it was Friday night, with the wedding on Saturday, and I hadn't picked out a dress or cake yet.
Yes! The other night I had a dream I was back in High School and I forgot all my books for class....I couldn't find my hw or didn't do it....couldn't locate my locker.
I was back with my HS bf.....he was mad we were pregnant....all types of bizarre!! (which btw is completely inaccurate)
I get them every once in awhile and they always seem so real and are situations that could really happen in real life! They always involve people I actually know but in a very unusual capacity... like I am married to a friend's husband in the dream instead of my DH! So bizarre! I find that i get them more frequently if I watch a semi-scary show before bed! (Criminals Minds, Code Black, ect) I second the idea to watch something cutesy or funny right before you fall asleep!!
I've almost been killed by a serial killer several times in the last week. We're not allowed to watch anymore crime shows in this household until further notice. I hope you're able to figure out and eliminate what's causing them!
Yes! Every night! Last night the first one was work related I missing a deadline and I woke up drenched in sweat. The next dream was about the fact a restaurant put cheese in my eggs, which I hate, and no one seemed to care and my husband just laughed at me. I woke up irrationally pissed and grumpy at him. On a positive note a couple days ago I was dreaming I was drinking a nice cold glass of rose and it tasted fabulous. I'll take that dream again tonight please.
Just wanted to add if you feel anything like I did last pregnancy, the nightmares really freak you out. I was starting to think something was wrong with me. I would have sexy dreams where I was suddenly the man and murdered my partner. I had dreams haunted by a dark figure in a cloak that always somehow got inside the building. I seriously thought I was developing some kind of disorder or something. I had other dreams about family and unborn baby I prefer not to discuss.
I bought a book about dream interpretationand it was really helpful. Not because it was 100% right all the time, but because it helped me to analyze the imagesinmy dreams to find meaning instead of just creepiness. For instance, it totally makes sense to me that I would kill a woman in my dream: after all, the old me was dying as I became a mom. Makes sense?
I just want to encourage freaked out moms tgat violent dreams can be normal in pregnancy. As always, if you are worried speak to your doc. They can tell you all about signs of post partum anxiety (which I guess can start in l pregnancy) and help you feel more informed.
ETA as long as your dreams are nighttime things and don't spill over into urgesin the day, I would totally not worry at all. Just chalk it up to weird hormones and lighter sleep!!!
I came back to tell you that I jinxed myself and had horrible nightmares last night. very vivid dreams. woke up in tears. coincidentally, in one of my pregnancy apps it said "vivid dreams may start now"...irony

I would also like to have that dream! I'll take a nice glass of Pinot Noir, thanks! Edited for gif cause it's been too long since I used one!
Ok I hate that you guys are having nightmares but truthfully it makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one! I've woken up in a sweat twice this week with a nightmare about going into labor and my DH not answering his phone and me having to go through it alone. I wake up and after a minute, I'm thankful that he's still laying there in bed and I'm still pregnant! I'm probably just subconsciously terrified about the whole labor process!
Every night! My husband is usually cheating on me or he dies or one of my kids dies. So unlikely for either to happen but I suppose it's the stress of the pregnancy.
Sometimes i I am able to talk to myself and regain control though, which feels very liberating. I say, "wake up, you're being silly again, your family is healthy and faithful and all in one piece" and I wake up and kiss them. Sometimes though I'm so deep in that I can't wake up
i wish I could return to the sex dreams I was having in the first trimester
Re: Nightmares

Yeah I have been stressing.
Just a lot going on at the moment. Some of my dreams are rational....which makes them scary and others are like something out of a horror film

On the weird side of terrifying, I dreamt that I found a rat skull in my soup. I can't eat soup now.
