  • I feel you on the crankiness @HGRich!! Holy moly!

My TW the last couple days are stupid, stupid sinuses, congestion, allergies, whatever you want to call it. I just want to be able to breathe and feel somewhat human again! I had a raging headache because of it yesterday but thankfully so far today it's not back. I can feel it wanting to start though. I took a 4 hour nap on Sunday because of it and went to bed at 7:30 last night.

  • @HGRich they don't get better unfortunately  :D 3rd trimester is the worst I find for hormones and then the first week or so after birth. Omg I didn't even like myself hahaha
  • My TW is my phone and the damn iOS 10 update. For some reason my phone is refusing to do the update. But it keeps trying to do it. When it fails, it turns my alarms off. So it tried and failed to update last night. And my alarms turned off. I woke up 2 hours late! I was supposed to go to the lab this morning for a preliminary glucose test and other blood draws. But now I'll wait and try again tmrw. I want to get to the lab as soon as it opens so that I'm not missing too much work...

  • Walmart's grocery website! I tried to save time this week by placing my order online for store pick up and the site kept logging me out. I probably would have been better off just going to the store.
  • I work at a hospital that has a 'no perfume/scents' rule in its dress code,  but I have co-workers that wear them anyway. My allergies have worsened in the past year.  Previously, smelling certain perfumes and lotions would just give me a headache and make my eyes feel itchy.  I just dealt with feeling crappy and never said anything.  In the past year, however,  the same scents that bothered me before make me feel absolutely terrible (I've felt close to fainting when someone walks in a room and will feel so nauseated that I have to go my entire work day without eating or drinking...this in addition to the headache and itchy eyes).  It took months, but I finally worked up the nerve to speak with my co-workers about my crazy allergies and beg them to please quit wearing perfumes and lotions to work.  I shouldn't have to plead with people to abide by the policy.  Thankfully, they all quit and I was able to feel human again...until late last week.  One of them has something new on now that I cannot handle.  For my health and that of my baby, I approached her today and asked if she was wearing something new (even though I have the nose of a bloodhound right now and know good and well that there is, in fact, something new).  She denied it and acted really offended.  I'm miserable and embarrassed to have to deal with this and now I feel like the TW for even bringing it up with her and for complaining about it on here.
  • @thecavfamily I'm not typically one to complain, but is there someone higher up that you can tell? Have that manager talk with the staff and remind them about the policy and why it was put in place...?

@KirstinH88 I'm not typically that person either.  I abhor that I had to even bring it up with my co-workers.  It's likely that the latest offender really isn't wearing perfume or lotion.  She could have some funky potpourri or detergent...who knows.  She's a smoker (thank goodness, that scent doesn't bother me) so she likely really does not smell anything on herself.  I've thought about speaking with HR about it to see if they could send out a mass email about that specific part of the dress code, though I don't know if it would do much good.  Thanks for your support, @KirstinH88
  • @thecavfamily I know that can be a tough situation. I used to work with a woman who stunk SO bad! I would hold my breath anytime I had to walk by her. Later, I found out that she had many complaints from other coworker's and my manager had to talk to her about basic hygiene. Bathing, washing hair, washing clothes. If it had affected me in the way that your coworker's perfumes are affecting you though, I would have definitely complained.
