Re: Infertility Veterans

  • 1. How long did it take you to get your BFP?  We started TTC in July 2013.  This is my second BFP.

    2. What is your diagnosis?
I had a right hydrosalphinx with a right ovarian dermoid cyst removed.  My RE is calling it tubal factor even though the HSG after surgery showed patency.

    3. What is your treatment/history?
We tried 4 clomid cycles, 2 times with timed intercourse and 2 times with IUI.  We got a BFP with our timed intercourse cycle which ended in a MC around week 6-7.  DH finally agreed to IVF in Sept and this BFP is from our fresh transfer with a 5-day blastocyst.

    4. If working with an RE, what is your doctor's protocol for transitioning to OB?
     I think at 8 weeks.

    5. Rants/raves/hopes/fears:
I'm so worried about another miscarriage, even though it's only a 10-12% chance.  I don't want to tell anyone about this pregnancy until I have a baby in my arms.

    6. Anything else you would like to share?
Thank you for letting me share my experience here.  It's great to know someone understands.

@lumilumi I also went through a fresh IVF cycle after a loss a couple of years ago! Congrats!! Sending you good vibes !:)
  • Wow @kahlan82, I don't even know what that's like. To have sex and know I must be pregnant... that is a completely foreign concept to me haha.

@lumilumi Welcome to a group that understands the struggle! I'm sorry about your past loss. Congrats on your IVF success!! I understand the constant worry that something could go wrong, being afraid to be excited or to tell people. I feel like we need to make a pact to try to enjoy our pregnancies as much as possible, as hard as that sounds. I'm such a worrier by nature even though I know it isn't helpful at all to be that way!

  • @cateyes543 I wouldn't worry too much about lower HCG numbers, since there is such a wide range that is considered normal! What were your numbers?

They have been steadily going up but started at 87, 160, then a week later it was 1272 then 2160. So it is increasing but not quite doubling.
