R/R: Rant: I've had a headache for literally 8 days straight. Excedrin migraine works for a few hours and it comes right back. Also, DS literally did not sleep at all last night. I have no idea what his deal was but it was horrible. And DH leaves for the week today. Ugh. Monday.
CS/Q: I had a crazy spike yesterday and then back down today. Im attributing it to sleeping through my alarm and temping an hour later than usual. Already starting the SS. It's too early for this!
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? My mom battled some really bad depression. She stayed in a dark room and rarely came out for most of my childhood. I refuse to be like her and I have made it my goal to always be active in my child(ren)'s lives.
R/R: My throat is getting a little scratchy...I hope I'm not getting sick! I love fall, but I get sick almost every October.
CS/Q: Is is it possible to get a thermal shift for 12 days and not ovulate? I need a rational perspective, lol. Last cycle (it was my first one off BC), I was lightly spotting by 10 DPO, had a temp drop on 11 DPO, and then got AF on 12 DPO. This month, 12 DPO and no signs of anything. My temps are still high (but I do have a scratchy throat this morning...). I alternate between thinking 1.) I didn't ovulate despite my thermal shift and 2.) I'm KU. Had I not POAS and got those random +OPKs at 6 DPO, I would probably trust my thermal shift more. I feel like I'm nuts! I know I could just take an HPT, but I want to give my body time to get AF first. I'm also afraid of the disappointment in a BFN (pathetic, I know).
GTKY:Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? I loved how my parents always were 100% supportive of our extracurricular activities. I was in band, theatre company, and choir, and they came to every single concert, parade, show, etc. I definitely want to be that way with my kids!
@GeorgiaWife6912, oh man, multi-day headaches are the worst. I hope you feel better soon.
@CallaLily25, if this is only your second cycle off BC, it's very likely that your luteal phase is just longer this time. Your cycles probably arent going ro be identical in length, even your LP, if you just went off BC.Your body is still regulating. Your temp shift definitely looks like you ovulated. At 12 dpo it would be reasonable to test now, or wait 2 days if you want.
Month/Cycle: 4/4
CD/DPO: 21/9
Timing: -4, -2, -1
Testing: Trying to hold out till at least 11 dpo, preferably 12
R/R: It finally feels like fall here! Yay! I am really struggling to not test. I feel myself getting very hopeful this cycle which makes me nervous too. Afraid of disappointment.
CS/Q: None today
GTKY: My parents struck a good balance between being strict and setting firm rules but also being loving and approachable. I hope I can strike the same balance.
Me: 26 DH: 27 Married 6-15-13 DS born 4-9-15 Septate Uterus BFP 10/12/16--EDD 6/24/17
R/R: I didn't post all weekend partly because I don't know where I go. I even ducked back to WTO on Friday. My chart is confusing, and I worry my thermal shift is too weak to be legit, but today's temp made me feel a little better. I got "high" readings from CBAD yesterday and today but I know high readings are estrogen related, and after doing some digging I found that estrogen levels can indeed rise during the LP and that is one of the reasons they tell you to stop testing after the peak reading. CM is not looking fertile so I'm going to keep monitoring that and take stick to wondfos if it seems to be transitioning to wet/EWCM.
CS/Q: Nah
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)?
I want them to see their extended family frequently, and come to value family gatherings, which is something that was a central focus in my childhood. I thought they were a bit unrealistic with their expectations of me when I was a teenager so I'm going to try to take a different approach with my own kids particularly when the topic of dating arises.

R/R: DH has off today (I don't) and he snoozed our alarm until 40 minutes after I usually get up. .
CS/Q: nope, things look good for now! @CallaLily25 take a test!
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? My mom made all of the holidays magical. I only hope I'm able to recreate some of the fairy dust she was able to sprinkle.
CS/Q: does anyone use a natural deodorant that they would recommend that works really well?
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? i am an only child so my immediate family was small but we were always kind to each other and there was no screaming. H's family always yells and it drives me nuts. I want my kids to be able to communicate (even when they are mad or frustrated) without screaming.

@GeorgiaWife6912 - tell me about it with the SS! I've been going nuts this weekend. @CallaLily25 - I totally agree on the being at every extracurricular! I was in tennis and band, and though they didn't come to every tennis meet (2-3 a week all over the area...yeah, no) they did ask which ones I wanted them at that were important to me! @JackieMarie1989 - I've been getting super hopeful this cycle too! Fx for us both!
Testing: if I can hold out until Saturday. The pull to POAS is strong.
R/R: Crazy busy week this week! DH is on trips for work on M/Th, He has evening events I need to go to on Tu/Sa, plus his normally hectic days of the week are W/Su. Friday is the only day we have to breathe. I guess that's good, since my LP is usually 12 days, so day 13 will be Saturday...I'll be busy until I can test.
CS/Q: Nope.
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? My parents made sure that by the time we left her house we knew how to take care of ourselves...do laundry, mow a lawn, manage bills, fix minor things on our car, sew buttons back on, etc. DH's mom did NOT teach him that. When he was living on his own, he called me to ask how to do laundry or start the dishwasher. Yikes! I also appreciate that as an adult, my parents and I have a friendship relationship as well as, I know I can always go to them when I need help. DH's parents are only there as parent. Seeing the way his are and comparing with mine is making me realize what I love/don't about each style.
Month/Cycle: 1AL but what feels like a million before that (over a year)
CD/DPO: 29/10
Timing: Excellent!
Testing: BFN this morning at 10 DPO. Will likely try again Wednesday
R/R: Vacation starting Thursday with DH, DS and in laws. I so need this.
CS/Q: I think I'm looking a little triphasic so clearly I am KU.
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? Family Sundays! My dad made the same breakfast for us every single Sunday- even when we got older, even if we had friends sleep over, ALWAYS. I didn't understand how great that was until I got older. Every Sunday night we all had to have dinner together, even if it was just pizza in front of the TV.
Just popping in to say I'm headed over to WTO since AF decided to show in the wee hours of the morning. Thanks for letting me hang out with you guys. I hope we have some posts in the grad thread soon!

CS/Q: not yet
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? My dad read to us every night. they are some of my favorite memories and definitely fostered my love of reading
@GeorgiaWife6912 I'm sorry that headache has lasted so long... hopefully it goes away soon! @JDW0325 sorry for the BFN @CallaLily25 Deep breath, trust your temps. it takes your body a while to regulate off BC and likely your LP is just a bit longer this cycle. @LadyMillil sorry for the dancing crosshairs @JackieMarie1989 good luck holding out on testing... the draw can be strong @PolarBear517 I see why your confused, but your secondary signs line up well with O. @theweevee congrats on CH @Laurad75 I don't use natural deodorant but I have heard excellent things about marnie's naturals @khrun17 it is SO important to teach kids to be independent. It's great that your parents gave you such a good basis!

@wabash15 I don't remember by parents reading to me a lot in general but I do remember my father reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" every Christmas Eve. It was something small myself and my siblings always looked forward to!

OMG the BSC is strong!
@KhRun17 Sometimes it's nice to know that I'm not the only one dealing with all the BSC. Although I did find it was easier to resist once I got past a certain point. Either way, FX this is your cycle and GL holding out on testing!

@GeorgiaWife6912 So sorry about the multi-day headache. I hope you are able to treat yourself while DH is away! @theweevee My DH was off today to (he is every Monday). Month/Cycle: 2/2

Timing: almost EOD since last AF left, so hopefully pretty good!
Testing: Hoping to hold out until next Monday, 10/17
R/R: It's Monday, and the BSC is setting in hard. But, we finally have fall weather here, and nothing makes me happier than chilly mornings and sunny afternoons!
CS/Q: Nope, but I started temping today (just getting used to it before CD1), so I'm looking forward to having more actual info about what my body is doing!
GTKY:
Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want
to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? We were outdoors a lot as kids (I started camping at 7 months old) and it's become a big part of my life. Thankfully, even thought DH was raised the opposite, he loves being outdoors and it's something we really hope to instill in any future kiddos. Hopefully there is lots of camping/hiking/outdoor adventures in our future!
@georgiawife6912 I have had migraines most of my life. I'm so sorry you're suffering! Have you tried laying down with an ice pack where it hurts? It sounds horrible, but works great. I alternate between where it hurts and the back of my neck. Also, acupuncture has been helping me long-term.
Month/Cycle: 10/11 (5AL)
CD/DPO: 19/3
Timing: -2, 0
Testing: Aw hell no
R/R: Being on vacation has made me a little less BSC, at least so far. Also, we had to abstain for OH's SA for the first part of FW, so we didn't get much FWP in. So I'm sorta blasé about this cycle, as much as I can allow myself to be with my 43rd birthday coming up on Saturday (*SOB*). I'm still taking my supplements, although not as religiously as I should. I'm trying to eat low carb, but have been slipping because vacation. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm pretty much writing this cycle off. I just have to be OK with it.
We're having a great time and relaxing, so I'm just concentrating on enjoying.
CS/Q: Nope
GTKY: I have awesome parents. They're not perfect by any stretch, but I like the way they raised me. I especially want to raise my kid, and my DSS, with great manners, independence, and a love for the outdoors.

R/R: Rant: Weird vivid dreams, which as I discovered last cycle is NOT a sign of being KU for me. Will probably start the real SS in 2-4 days...
CS/Q:
GTKY: Is there something
about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or
something you don't want to do like them)? This is a tough one for me. There's a lot my parents did right, especially concerning emphasis on education. One thing MH and I have related on a lot is that both our parents fed us a bunch of processed foods without a lot of nutrition. They also had really bad divorces. So we're going to not do both of those things!!
@GeorgiaWife6912 I feel you. My mom had really bad depression when I was young too. It is tough on a kid to see that day after day. I'm with you on not showing that to my kids.
@wabash15 My mom read to me a lot too and I think it made a huge difference!
R/R: The weather is so nice today! The sun is out too!
CS/Q:
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? There were a lot of things that I liked about how my parents raised me. Something that is important to me to teach it to honor their commitments. If they say they are going to do something, they should see it through.
@haylsbayls Hey, maybe it IS for you --I just know it isn't for me. I spent a lot of time last cycle on the internet convincing myself it was a definite for real sign and then AF came right on schedule.
@georgiawife6912 I also suffer from bad migraines and monthly headaches. Going along with @aurora1973 have you tried the ice pack thing? I usually put it at the base of my head where it meets my neck. Also putting something over your eyes to block out the light.
R/R: exam is over... didn't pass but going to be lazy all day and enjoy myself for the rest of the day and tomorrow! Back on the studying bandwagon in a couple of weeks.
CS/Q: nope! Just want to get on to the next cycle already
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? Same about the extended family visits. This will be more of a challenge for us since we live further away, but, that was a great part of my childhood.
I'll be back later, just going to take a nap first!!
@CallaLily25 you are so much stronger than me. I would have POAS by now! @theweevee holidays at your house sound like they were amazing! @laurad75 a@KhRun17 right there with you on the SS. I've had a headache since O, I must be KTFU, right?! Only explanation @haylsbayls I wish my parents had taught me better eating habits as well! It's so much harder to start those habits later in life! @RunRestRepeat I am hoping MIL can take DS for a couple hours tonight so I can take a nap and try to recoup from this! @Aurora1973 and @osucma migraines are horrible! I'm sorry you have to suffer from them too! I've tried putting an ice pack on the back of my neck, but I'll definitely try alternating between that and where it hurts! It's worth a shot! Thanks! @jgraysday I'm sorry about your exam. Hugs!
Timing: good, I think. Had EWCM mid-late last week and two positive OPTs, one on Sat and one yesterday. BD every other day for the last two weeks since I wasn't sure when I would be ovulating. I think there's a chance I ovulated yesterday or today... I've had very dull, minor cramps in the last 24 hours.
CS/Q: when do you know when you're done ovulating? I'm confused by the EWCM coming before the positive OPT -- just trying to time out BD to make it count!
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? My parents were very pushy about manners. Besides please and thank you, they always made my siblings and I do things like greet/thank hosts at parties and bring something for the host, having nice table manners, and sending thank you cards in a timely manner. It never struck me as weird that they installed these polite behaviors in us until I grew up and met people who chew with their mouths open, think ghosting at parties is awesome, and dismiss the idea of thank yous.

Month/Cycle: 4/3 TTCAL
CD/DPO: 26/11
Timing: +1, -1 (all we could get cuz DH was OOT)
Testing: BFN this morning
R/R: I woke up from a dream about getting a BFP to my temperature alarm and my temp was still high but I'd been hoping for a spike (tho I know chart doesn't HAVE to be triphasic to be KU). After the dream and the temp I felt like I shouldn't test because I had a feeling it would be negative but if it wasn't it would have been a perfect day to tell DH. Took it anyway and it was a BFN and then went back to sleep and had dreams that when I looked at it later it was positive UGGGHH!!! So sad this morning. It was our last chance to be KU before my EDD so that makes it even harder. I thought that how chill I was for most of this TWW might have been a good sign but I guess not. And DH just says "You don't have to be sad. It'll happen when it happens" It's just such a hard process and I feel like you ladies are the only ones who understand. All the wanting and waiting and all the things we do to try to increase our chances and then hoping so much for a BFP but also so scared of having another loss. It's just so much. Now I wish I hadn't tested because I don't want my mood to ruin our last day off together
On the rave side; our thanksgiving dinner was fantastic and DH said it was the best thanksgiving meal he's ever had which was such a huge compliment I tried a bunch of new recipes and they were all a hit and he's still raving about it and I'm so glad we get to have leftovers today lol
CS/Q: nah. It's a pretty chart but that doesn't matter
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? I had a hard childhood so this one is tough for me to answer today but I'll just say briefly that I'm going to make sure my kid(s) know/s that I love them unconditionally; that they don't need to be perfect to be loved.
@peachy13 it is normal to get fertile CM (watery or EWCM) for several days prior to a +OPK, you can also get patches of these type of CM post O. I usually get EWCM for several days prior to a +OPK. @JackieMarie1989 that's good to know about the LP length. I keep reading that it doesn't vary much from 1-2 days, but I guess that is for people NOT just coming off of BC. My last cycle was 45 days and if everything goes the way it should, this one will be 26-28 days. So maybe my body is trying to even itself out? lol
@GeorgiaWife6912 I'm trying my best to hold out, but it's really hard! My CM has been dry, my CP has been low, and I just don't believe I'm KU. So, I think that's why the BSC has been held at bay thus far.
@lulu1180 That makes me feel better! I hope it's not 16 days, but that would actually make me get AF right on time despite Oing 2 days early this cycle. Hmmm...could my body be that awesome? haha doubtful.
@KhRun17 FX for you! And also, I agree...it was pretty awesome to have super supportive parents.
(I'm lurking today, since I did a daily post in the IF thread already and one seems like enough for a day...)
@rainbowturtles: Creepy Internet hugs to you. There's never anything anyone can say on the days this process is hard, so I have no words that will help other than you're not alone.
Hey! Just wanted to say I'm heading over to WTO. Started spotting today, so today's wicked headache is sure to usher in AF tomorrow. Side note... Not sure if I should consider talking to my doc about why my cycles have ranged from 26 days to 37 and in between. Is this anything like normal for you non-PCOS ladies? I've been off BC for 10 months now and I remember it being unpredictable years ago before I was on it for 9 years.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
R/R: I knew there wasn’t much of a chance with not great timing,
but still a little disappointing to see the stark white test this morning. Now
just waiting for AF so we can move on to cycle 2 (and hopefully better timing)!
Had a wonderful vacation last week (without much Internet- sorry to ghost), but
glad to be home.
GTKY:Is there something about the way your
parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't

be sung to and it was my favorite. He would sing Christmas songs pretty much
all year long.
@rainbowturtles I''m sorry you had such a rough morning. All the creepy internet hugs to you.
@NYTino24 I don't have a PCOS diagnosis, and at my pre-conception appointment last spring I asked my doctor about my wide range in cycles. Mine range from 28-45 days. She said that was still within the normal range, so you're probably also fine. I've noticed my longer cycles always occur when I'm under a lot of stress and have poor sleep.

GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? I loved how my parents always were 100% supportive of our extracurricular activities. I was in band, theatre company, and choir, and they came to every single concert, parade, show, etc. I definitely want to be that way with my kids!

R/R: It finally feels like fall here! Yay! I am really struggling to not test. I feel myself getting very hopeful this cycle which makes me nervous too. Afraid of disappointment.

GTKY: My parents struck a good balance between being strict and setting firm rules but also being loving and approachable. I hope I can strike the same balance.

I want them to see their extended family frequently, and come to value family gatherings, which is something that was a central focus in my childhood. I thought they were a bit unrealistic with their expectations of me when I was a teenager so I'm going to try to take a different approach with my own kids particularly when the topic of dating arises.

i am an only child so my immediate family was small but we were always kind to each other and there was no screaming. H's family always yells and it drives me nuts. I want my kids to be able to communicate (even when they are mad or frustrated) without screaming.

Month/Cycle: 7/5

Family Sundays! My dad made the same breakfast for us every single Sunday- even when we got older, even if we had friends sleep over, ALWAYS. I didn't understand how great that was until I got older. Every Sunday night we all had to have dinner together, even if it was just pizza in front of the TV.

@JDW0325 sorry for the BFN
@CallaLily25 Deep breath, trust your temps. it takes your body a while to regulate off BC and likely your LP is just a bit longer this cycle.
@LadyMillil sorry for the dancing crosshairs
@JackieMarie1989 good luck holding out on testing... the draw can be strong

GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? We were outdoors a lot as kids (I started camping at 7 months old) and it's become a big part of my life. Thankfully, even thought DH was raised the opposite, he loves being outdoors and it's something we really hope to instill in any future kiddos. Hopefully there is lots of camping/hiking/outdoor adventures in our future!

CS/Q:
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? This is a tough one for me. There's a lot my parents did right, especially concerning emphasis on education. One thing MH and I have related on a lot is that both our parents fed us a bunch of processed foods without a lot of nutrition. They also had really bad divorces. So we're going to not do both of those things!!
@GeorgiaWife6912 I feel you. My mom had really bad depression when I was young too. It is tough on a kid to see that day after day. I'm with you on not showing that to my kids.@wabash15 My mom read to me a lot too and I think it made a huge difference!
Sorry to see you go @BertieMeetsGertie!
@Aurora1973 I'm trying low carb too. It's tough, even when not on vacation!
Edited for grammar
GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)?
There were a lot of things that I liked about how my parents raised me. Something that is important to me to teach it to honor their commitments. If they say they are going to do something, they should see it through.

@georgiawife6912 I also suffer from bad migraines and monthly headaches. Going along with @aurora1973 have you tried the ice pack thing? I usually put it at the base of my head where it meets my neck. Also putting something over your eyes to block out the light.
also I love so many of the GTKY responses.
@CallaLily25 you are so much stronger than me. I would have POAS by now!
@theweevee holidays at your house sound like they were amazing!
@laurad75 a@KhRun17 right there with you on the SS. I've had a headache since O, I must be KTFU, right?! Only explanation
@haylsbayls I wish my parents had taught me better eating habits as well!
Thanks!

@rainbowturtles I am so sorry for the BFN after high temps and a BFP dream. Those dreams are such a mind F***. even though you know its a dream it leads to an irrational level of hope. @GeorgiaWife6912 I'm trying my best to hold out, but it's really hard! My CM has been dry, my CP has been low, and I just don't believe I'm KU. So, I think that's why the BSC has been held at bay thus far.
@BertieMeetsGertie sorry to see you go!

R/R: I knew there wasn’t much of a chance with not great timing, but still a little disappointing to see the stark white test this morning. GTKY: Is there something about the way your parents raised you that you want to do with your kids (or something you don't want to do like them)? My dad sang to me every night until I was far too old to be sung to and it was my favorite. He would sing Christmas songs pretty much all year long.
