Re: Saturday Ticker Change 10/8

  • How far along are you? 11 weeks

How big is baby? Lime, donut hole, Lego man, golf ball

Appointments this week? Monday! Not quite sure what all will happen at the appt, but the Dr told me last time that it's a long appt (2 hours). I assume we will listen to the heartbeat since I still haven't heard it and probably blood work. Dr said I'd be getting another ultrasound as well. I also assume we will be scheduling my NT scan.

Symptoms? Most symptoms have gone away. No more nausea, no more tender boobs, even the exhaustion has slightly gotten better. But I am having RLP.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I bought maternity pants last weekend and I've worn them twice but they are not the nice, comfy feeing that I've been waiting for. They are still too big so the part that goes over my stomach keeps sliding down. But my normal pants are not fitting at all.

I'm excited for a much needed date night tonight with DH. I think we are going to go to a new hibachi/teppanyaki style restaurant. Dropping DS off now!

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)?

I hope to at least be the manager of my unit, if not the manager above that. As far as family-wise, DH says this is the last child (#4), but if it's another boy, I may want to try ONE MORE time for a girl. Either way, in 5 years, we will have a 14, 10, 9, and 4 year old so I'm sure I will be running to a lot of team sports games. I'm assuming/hoping that life will be pretty settled.

  • How far along are you? 11 weeks

How big is baby? Poker chip

Appointments this week? None but I had one on Wednesday and I got to see baby for the first time

Symptoms? Still sore boobs, rlp, very very emotional

Rant/Rave/Questions? Been a tough week.  Told my sister I'm pregnant and she basically told me I'm crazy as I'm 40 years old and reminded me of all the 'dangers' of being 'elderly' and pregnant.  Hubby has been less than supportive and is having second thoughts about a new baby and considering leaving.  Bounce then.  And my mom who has stage 4 breast cancer was told the chemo isn't working and it's spreading.  So looking forward to a better week to come.  On a positive note.  Thanksgiving dinner tonight:)

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)? Professionally I'm as far as I want to go in my career.  I'm currently a program manager of a second stage shelter for women and children fleeing abuse.  I've been there 6 years and feeling like it's time to move on after this mat leave.  In my dream world I would love to move overseas and work with children.
  • How far along are you? 13w

How big is baby? Matchbox car, lemon

Appointments this week? Yes! On Friday! Hoping to finally hear the heartbeat!

Symptoms? Still tired. Achy hips. Throwing up still, but nothing consistent.

Rant/Rave/Questions? Tired of keeping this secret. I am so anxious to hear the heartbeat so we can tell the rest of our family and our kids! I know they will be excited, so we wanted to wait to tell them until we heard the heartbeat.

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)? Professionally-- probably still teaching. I hope to be a department chair at some point, so maybe be then. Family-wise I will have a 10-yr old, an 8-yr old, and a 4 yr-old...and we are definitely done after this baby! I hope we will be living in the same home (with some some renovations for more space!

  • How far along are you?
    12 weeks

    How big is baby?
    Plum

    Appointments this week?
I had my 12 week appt moved up to Wednesday because we were being evacuated due to the hurricane.  On top of being hours from evacuating, they couldn't find a heart beat so I had to go to the hospital for an ultrasound.  My dr has multiple offices and the ultrasound was not at the one where I had my appt.  Two hours later I got to see my wiggly little baby who was flipping too much to catch the heartbeat.  Looks like we have another wild child.

    Symptoms?
Still worn out at the end of the day.  Starting to see less food aversions and more cravings... Cherry icee for the win this week

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
Just so ready to be home and to have power and water.  Hurricanes are no fun.  We are staying with my parents.  My mom got a kitten and she is annoyingly attached to it.  The thing ran on front of me and tripped me, and she yelled and me for stepping on her cat.  Hello... pregnant daughter could have fallen!

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)?  I think this will be our last kiddo.  Professionally... I'd like to be in an instructional coach position.  I'm currently teaching.  I'd also like to go back to school for a degree in leadership.
  • How far along are you? 15 weeks

How big is baby? cinnamon roll

    Appointments this week?   none.

Symptoms?   Still exhausted at the end of the day.  I feel like I've gone back to a month ago where I hardly eat and feel really full/not feeling up to eating at night.

    Rant/Rave/Questions? None this week

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)?  Good question.  Not sure professionally, but personally probably have two kids.

  • @dawn_5 I'm sorry that you are having a tough week. Hopefully everyone comes around on the fact that you are having a baby. I know it's tough when you don't feel supportive. And I'm sorry for your mom's diagnosis.

@mallyandryan do you know how your house looks? Is everything ok? Hope you guys get to go back home soon!

@wagnerw Mmmm...cinnamon roll! I had one yesterday and it was delicious!

How big is baby?  Navel orange

    Appointments this week?  Nope :(

Symptoms?   Rlp, movement,  still so tired

    Rant/Rave/Questions?  None right now

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)?  I'm in my dream job as an L&D nurse...so plan on still being there.  This is our last kiddo so just figuring out how to be outnumbered :)

  • How far along are you?
    14 weeks

    How big is baby?
    toy troll, muffin

    Appointments this week?
No. Had one last Thursday and actually got to see the baby moving around since the doppler was too staticky.

    Symptoms?
Nothing really ... just a little tired.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
Getting really excited to find out the gender. It's 7 weeks away, but I'm pumped!

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)? I have no idea, just tend to see where life takes me. Hopefully I will be able to land a job working from home so I have more flexibility to spend time with the kids.
  • Thanks @KirstinH88 for doing this week. Saturday was out 5th anniversary, so I had more fun things to do than TB.

How far along are you? 13 weeks! (well, now 13w2d.) I totally count it as 2nd tri, even though it isn't officially 2nd tri until tomorrow.

How big is baby? 3 inches long and about an ounce. I guess the size of a peach or matchbox car.

Appointments this week? Nope. Had the midwife appointment and the NT ultrasound last week. Now I don't have anything until Nov. 1st, which is just a normal midwife appointment. Kind weird just sitting around that long.

Symptoms? Feeling like I did last time starting around 25 weeks. So sore and tired by the end of the day. My hip joints click and pop all day. My sciatica is already dead by the end of the day. My baby is 3 inches long so I am not sure why I feel like I am 9 months pregnant. Ugh! I just do not get along well with pregnancy and I never will. It destroys my body. The next time I read something or hear someone talk about exercising during pregnancy I will be kicking them in the crotch. I am still recovering from the round of frisbee golf I played on Saturday. My exercise is staying alive.

Rant/Rave/Questions? Anyone else hate pregnancy? I am pretty sure I am the only person I know who feels this horrible when they are pregnant. Everyone else is all hiking and skinny and beautiful. I am tired and fat and still have a face full of hormonal acne. We tried to take a few family photos yesterday and I just about gave up on life when I got home and started to edit them. Not cute. Not cute.

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)? I am hoping to have 3 kids by then, if life turns out just how I want it to. 8 year old, 4 year old and perhaps a new baby or toddler. Hopefully DH will have his architect license by then with a decent enough job that we will be house hunting or have a new house. I am hoping my doula business will have taken off enough to keep me busy and I am hoping by that point that maybe I will even be making a little money.

  • How far along are you? 11 Weeks

    How big is baby? Lime

Appointments this week? I had an appointment scheduled this past Thursday, but it was canceled due to the hurricane. I am rescheduled for the 20th.

Symptoms? Reall tired, and I feel like the stress from the past weekend has really taken a toll on me and my body. I'm hoping to start feeling a little better in the next few days now that everything is calming down.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)? I see myself with my same company in five years, and right now we are planning on looking for a new house in about that time frame.

  • How far along are you? 13 weeks (13+2 today)

How big is baby? the size of a  toy matchbox car

Appointments this week? not until October 25th.

Symptoms? still exhausted. Nausea has let up though which is nice!

Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm beginning to feel less anxious now that I've made it to the second trimester (well tomorrow). Baby is still measuring a bit small though which is stressing me out. I have a home doppler and I was finally able to hear the heartbeat at home which made it better!

GTKY: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years (professionally, personally, family-wise)?
Professionally: I love teaching, but I think it would be nice to be a stay at home mom. I'd like to look into teaching virtual school. Or getting through grad school and trying to teach at one of the community colleges a few days a week.
Personally: debt free. Hubs and I have a plan.. Hopefully we stick to it.
Family-wise: We'd eventually like 3-4 kids. Hopefully in 5 years we'll have a second and be thinking about baby 3...

  • @mrsstuessy You are not alone on hating pregnancy! I keep telling my husband that I've heard you glow, but I'm not yet. I'm tired of the acne and being exhausted constantly. Hopefully the second trimester will bring better days for both of us.

How could I forget about debt-free! We also have a plan. But then again, debt-free (at least what I'm striving for) does not include student loan or house debt.

And my plan is to be debt free before I die. Ugh. I mean, all we have right now are student loans. But, a crazy stupid amount of student loans.

  • @mrsstuessy that's exactly why "debt-free" to me is not truly debt-free.  :D Damn those student loans!
