I'm going to a baby shower this afternoon for my husband's cousin. There will be a lot of his family there and out of everyone that will be there, only MIL knows that I'm expecting too, so she just might explode today lol
We were going to visit our friends out of town this weekend but we're not quite ready to tell them yet, so we put it off until the weekend after our ultrasound. So we are having a lazy weekend! We went to cracker barrel for breakfast this morning and now I'm lounging in my PJs on the couch. I'd really like to get some fall decorations up. But we'll see. I don't feel as terrible today as I felt the last few days, but it comes in waves for sure. Tomorrow will be all football, all day in our house I'll need to get caught up on some of these fun threads that I missed this week when I was busy!!
Girls day out with my bestie. She gets the news today! We're going to eat, see The Girl on the Train, eat, get pedi, eat, knit, and finally we will eat. I'm so looking forward to it.
I'm on vacation from work. We intend to do not much of anything. Taking my oldest to her dance class, then grocery shopping. Maybe we'll go to the park. And ASU plays tonight, so we'll go to grandmas to watch the game. Tomorrow is church and football.
Woke up "early" (for Saturday) with SO. He has to work Sat & Sun for the next month. At this moment I'm drinking coffee and listening to "soothing/calming" cat music from youtube to see if it will quiet my cat. (my usual go-to for her is "Elven Hymn to Elbereth Gilthoniel" by The Tolkien Ensemble, but that isn't working). I have a friend coming into town to stay for the weekend. She'll probably be here around noon. I need to do a lot of cleaning (I should be doing that right now) 1) because my friend is visiting! 2) because my apartment bldg is on the market and potential buyer/current owner are doing tours on Monday. Gotta have the place looking nice.
I'm not sure what exactly my friend and I will do this weekend, but we are meeting up with my SO after his work to all go out for dinner somewhere. My friend was sweet about it when I asked if she wanted to go out, she didn't want to have to be the 3rd wheel if we wanted to have alone time. I reminded her that I live with SO and every night is alone time. Lol.
EDIT- The music seems to be working! I haven't heard a meow in over 10 mins. The cat is in another room right now (tiny apartment, so the music carries). I'm afraid to go check on her because the meows will start up again- sometimes silence is a bad thing. Very much like with toddler humans.
DH took DS to the park, so I have the house to myself this morning which feels awesome. My parents are coming over for dinner tonight and tomorrow we're headed to the pumpkin patch. I love fall!
@tumbleweed that cracks me up that your cat is a Tolkien fan!
MH, MIL and I are at the Cubs play off games in Chicago this weekend. Happy they won last night but keeping my fingers crossed for tonight's game. Right now we are watching the Iowa football game at a bar...watching everyone drink sucks! I want to partake in $15 bottomless Mimosas! oh well, LO will be worth it!
@MoshiMoshi7 She has a lot of personality. We were tricked because at her foster home (where I first met her. I knew the foster mom)/at the animal shelter she was on her best behavior and everyone said "she was the perfect cat for people who like cats", then we took her home and she showed her true colors. We love her, but she is too curious for her own good, and very vocal. I know everyone with a spotted tabby says this, but we really think she might be part bengal (based on her physical features, temperment, and medical history. I was told by the vet that exotic breed cats are more prone to allergies and that is the case with her).
Here is a huge picture of her during a quiet moment this morning (sorry about the size everyone. I tried to delete and resize, but TB wouldn't let me replace with the edited photo)
Edit- because I forgot to add that I love pumpkin patchs and I wish I was doing that this weekend too! Have fun tomorrow. I found out there is a pumpkin patch/corn maze a couple of hours from me that does a Harry Potter theme on Saturdays, so I might have to check that out.
We are taking my 2 year old to Target to get Christmas ideas. I think I may pick up some stuff for chocolate chip pancakes for dinner. My cold is letting up but now I have a wicked cough. Boo.
Went to Joanns for fabric and look at decorations. Already excited for Christmas decorations to go up:). My husband and oldest two boys are going to a WILD game tonight. I will only have 2 children in the house tonight. Im celebrating with a chicken, bacon, avacado honeymustard salad. My daughter picked out a mickey mouse clubhouse movie for tonight. Tomorrow will be church and relaxation.
@starphish18 we have family on opposite ends of the country. I have to buy/order/ship in a timely fashion. There are 9 siblings between DH and I. Plus I just love Christmas! I'm not into Halloween.
I went to see Tristan and Isolde from the Met opera in a local movie theatre. It was fun. Then I did a tiny bit of maternity clothes shopping. It's kind of overwhelming. Lol
@contrarationem the choices of clothes for maternity are overwhelming I remember I had no idea how to choose what size to buy. Of course all of mine are not going to match up with the right season until the very end
Went with a big group of girls from work to see Amy Schumer last night which was AMAZING. She is so funny. Would recommend seeing her. fake drinking in that crowd was a bit of a challenge but luckily my one work friend who knows was there to assist me!
