Anyone try out Ramzi Theory for first ultrasounds? At my 6 week ultrasound (transvaginal) I made sure to ask the position of the placenta.. it was anterior.
Sounds like it has a high accuracy rate (97% according to the all-knowing internet ). I am having a hard time figuring mine out, since I had an abdominal u/s. I think it says girl, but my scan was a day or 2 after I turned 8 weeks so you can't see placenta very well. From what I can tell, it is about the location of placenta, not baby, right? Grabbing at straws bc my heart says "boy" but my head says "girl", lol. Happy with a healthy baby, regardless, it is just our 3rd and last and I always felt like a son would be awesome!
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34
@mamasmurf12 I admittedly don't really get it, but if I understand right, yours would be a boy. With an abdominal ultrasound you have to flip the image. So basically I'm going off of the fact that my image had the baby on the right like yours, but mine was transvaginal, and mine is theoretically a girl.

It's based off of the position of the placenta, not fetus. If it is transvaginal you do not flip, abdominal u/S you are supposed to flip (it's like a mirror image)
Abby7 i just went in knowing to ask! I wasn't expecting to just hear "anterior". Its position of placenta/chorionic villi location. You can see this where the areas around the uterus are more solid/dark white (placenta)
@Abby7 don't go off the chart above because it's missing the important info of whether it's abdominal or transvaginal. I just heard about this last week so I'm going off of some sites online I found. Also from what I understand, the earlier the ultrasound the better. 6 weeks is ideal and 8 weeks sounds like it might be too far along.
But I really just found all this out so I could be wrong with a lot of it!

So I heard it didn't matter which ultrasound it was and normally your first apt shows the yolk sack this was 8w2d and it was a girl ... This is my second pregnancy which ended up being earlier 7w1d but yolk sac is on right side Normally goes by your yolk sac before your placenta Is formed.
I did this in with my first and everyone said girl...but I have a sweet baby boy That being said, I'll definitely be back here after my ultrasound this afternoon! I'm all about fun guessing games, even if I don't totally buy them.

Ok I want to play! I'll admit I don't understand this at all! How do you know where the placenta is?! It's super confusing to me. But if you ladies know what you're looking at then awesome! Guess away! This was transvaginal 7+2
This is based on the placenta position right? But the placenta isn't formed until closer to 14 weeks (according to the u/s tech I met.) So because of that, the theory is confusing to me.
@pshaortao it's based on chorionic villi position til the placenta forms. But I think the placenta forms well before week 14. I think maybe week 14 is when it entirely takes over? I could be way off with that.
I agree with @FlyChick. The placenta forms around week 4, it starts being used for nutrition at 12 weeks. I've heard nothing of 14weeks, however, in relation to placenta.
Ekw832001 do u have any more pics?? Your yolk sac is the first to form and your yolk sac turns into your placenta ... in one of my pics you couldn't see the yolk sac but out second showed it.
Someone else said that it goes by vaginal or belly ultrasound but one tech told me well technically this is this side and this is this side but a high risk ultra sound tech told me it goes by the actual picture what side it is on and every ultrasound he saw was right.
Mama to wildness .... the part I circled looks like the yolk sac which normally means girl
No way! Well that's interesting! Can't wait to see. Think we are leaning toward team green and we have 2 boys already so maybe this will be our girl! Thanks for doing that!
They didn't give me my us pic at my first appointment. How bad is it if I call the nurse and ask her to look at it for me? Hahaha! I would never bother them like that but I wish that was acceptable!
The yolk sac theory is NOT the same as the Ramzi theory.
Somebody told me come to this forum sorry! Not sure what the yolk sac one is called but I figured it was the same bc the yolk sac turns into the placenta bc your placenta isn't form till closer to 12 weeks.
