expecting baby #2 and my son will be 16months when this one arrives. Any other mamas have two that will be or are super close in age??? Looking for any wisdom!
Dd#1 & DD #2 are 15 months apart and DD#2 will be 17 months when baby #3 arrives (3 under 3). My husband travels a lot and the only family nearby doesn't help. There are some rough times and some days that I just go through the motions until bedtime but there are some great moments too. I see how my first two are with one another. DD#1 loves her baby sister so much and does anything she knows how to do to help (bring burp cloths, hold bottles, hugs crying sister, etc. If I can do it, you can too!
This could make for a biweekly or some kind of check in for y'all? I was prepared to get KU right away but I didn't so it won't be 2u2. There are a couple mamas in my last BMB that ended up with irish twins. It was rough for them, but now their kiddos are the bestest friends! It's sweet to see all the photos
Mine will be 18 months apart! I'm really excited, but also terrified. I have no doubt the first few months will be difficult, but in the long run, it'll be awesome
My preggo self is pretty bummed about not being able to nap whenever I want though.

Mine will be 17 months apart. I think it will be challenging when they are little, but I'm so excited to have them grow up so close in age. I am close in age to my brothers and now as adults it is so fun to have all of the same friends and interests!
YES! This is not my first rodeo with this though.. my first 2 kids are 21 months apart, 27 months between #2 and #3, and now between #3 and #4 should be 21 months.
I really didn't the transition between 1 and 2 was too bad.. with the ages considered. The only challenge was in the beginning. I had a csection and couldn't hold DS1.. or anytime I would breastfeed, DS1 would want to be held.
Mine will be 22 months apart and we're pretty nervous... but seeing how much our son grows by the day, we're hoping it'll be a bit easier when the baby gets here... although potty training will be on the agenda, dun-dun-duuuuuuun.
Mine will be 18 months apart and DD1 will be 6. I keep telling DH that he needs to start practicing putting DD2 to bed at night, cause I certainly won't be able to do it all once the new baby comes, but so far he's declined.
@Laurieday10 - DS is 11 months now, and hubs has put him to bed 3 times. He has bathed him zero times. Fed him totally on his own...maybe 5 times. Now, I will own responsibility for a LOT of this - I call him MY baby, and I actually don't mind doing everything for him. But when Lamb Chop arrives, I know I am going to need help and I think he has gotten pretty comfortable in his hands-off role! One time I asked if he wanted to give DS a bath, and he looked at me with a horrified expression as if I had asked him to run naked through downtown Atlanta!
My two will be 23 months apart. I was a little nervous about that until I thought about you mamas who will have babies 12-14 months apart! Suddenly I feel better!!
we'll have three under two. My daughter will be 22 months when the twins get here. For those of you who have already had two that close, should I go ahead and transition my daughter to a toddler bed? I'm thinking that this may make it easier for me to lay her down for naps and bedtime because we will be having a csection.
I won't have two under 2 but I thought I'd chime in and encourage you to think about a twin or a full instead of a toddler bed. We have a toddler bed and it's too small for me to lie down in with DS. I can kind of half lie down on it with my upper half on the bed and lower half in the floor but I imagine that would be pretty uncomfortable for a c-section recovery.

@rainydays86 we're getting a full once the sales start!
@RainyDays86 I guess I was calling it a toddler bed because I want it pretty low (in hopes that she can climb on herself) but my dad is building it for us and we will be making it for a twin size mattress
My boys were 22 months apart. It was a little tricky because my DS1 could talk but communication was limited. I didn't send him to daycare because I felt guilty (and we still paid for two days a week). I am definitely sending both boys to daycare during maternity leave this time around! I feel like only now they are beginning to love each other at almost 2 and almost 4. Just this morning I heard big brother talking to little brother "I love you buddy" and he got a "luv you!" response.
its not easy, but moments like that make it 100% worth it. I hope this friendship continues to grow.
I have a 10 months old now. So mine will also be 16 months apart. I grew up with a sister 13 months younger and a brother 18 months older. Always wanted kids close in age!
Has anyone been looking at strollers yet? My DS will be almost 2 when this little boy is born. I was looking at the contours elite and the city select.. after putting my DS in them right now he seems like he's going to be too big. He already is maxing out the seat it seems and he's not unusually large. The side by side strollers have larger seats but they seem like such a pain to weave around stores and such. My DH says we wont even need a double stroller because when he is 2 he will be walking more... I still think for going to the zoo or other places we will need a double stroller and we are pretty active and currently go for walks almost daily. Anyone else looking at strollers already?

Im just going to keep telling myself that I'm luckier than most infertile couples (as my toddler screams while a baby pukes in my hair).

My only worries are about taking care of DS (picking him up, in and out of the car, the crib...) after a C-section. I think that will be a challenge.
@emilyalso I am worried about that too. Its actually making me think about trying to VBAC.
