I'm glad this thread exists. The thought that baby could have possibly been born today was honestly terrifying for me. I'm not emotionally ready yet! Soaking in all of this advice like a big ol pregnant sponge.
Did I miss something? What's up with Ashton? Is he being an eager beaver?

  • @slartybartfast we did the same thing with tiny videos, and I used my Mac to turn them into a 1 year video set to a few songs. I'm trying to do this every year for keepsakes. We put them on DVDs for grandparents too.

  • No lights at night period. I literally change the babies with the light or flashlight from my phone. If you turn on even a dim lamp and they get a chance to look around don't expect to go back to sleep!
  • I love this thread! Really good tips for this FTM! Thank you for sharing.
  • I'll add more on desktop later but I want to echo what someone else already said, newborns can be LOUD sleepers. Our LO slept in his nursery from the day he got home because my DH and I couldn't get any sleep with him in our room. Our first lesson of the most important rule of parenting: Be willing to be adaptable!
  • Car rides are great for putting most babies to sleep. We also found that L liked the sound of a bathtub filling up. During leaps we would get youtube on the Roku and put on a 12 hr long video. He slept soo much better and would tupically quit crying in 2-3 minutes.

  • This may be a stupid question... but I received a "mega box" of wipes at my shower yesterday. Opened the box today to see two different kinds of packages..

Do I need a container for the ones that don't have a lid? Or are they resealable (like Oreo packages that just close back up)?

Any information is greatly appreciated at this point, because I'm confused. I didn't want to try opening the "refill" pack in case it doesn't seal back up (would hate for them to dry out before baby is here).

I think the kind with the plastic is a travel pack for the diaper bag. The other is a refill for the big plastic box. They won't dry out in the package unopened and they don't dry out that fast after. I use them all the same I don't ever bother putting refills into a container.
  • And, if your wipes ever do dry out (the forgotten wipes in my car have a few times)- just add water!

  • We have added water to wipes so many times! It works. Things dry up here in AZ super fast. Just gotta figure out the right amount of water for the amount of wipes and it's like they are new.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • Thank you so much ladies! Happy to know dried up wipes can be saved, I'm sure that will save me from the heartache I would experience if I had to throw them away.
