Florida peeps and others affected...

by Hurricane Matthew. How are you holding up?

My ILs are in Central Florida and near the Gulf, so far they're all fine.

Re: Florida peeps and others affected...

  • We are on the gulf side and our schools were closed today (as a teacher I was pretty excited) we are just getting some strong wind and it is very cloudy.  No rain here yet.  My best friend from college is over on the east coast and she has been in a shelter with her two kids since last night.  Luckily it hasn't been as bad as the predicted but still a lot of water and wind.

  • Orlando here. Worst has passed. My home is okay and we have power. But my parents have several fallen trees and lost power.
  • In Jacksonville, not too bad so far!
  • Glad y'all are safe and that things weren't so bad!

  • @nicoleglass1209 Stay safe! I just saw some coverage from Jax Beach and it looks awful. Update us when able!
  • Y'all have been in my thoughts.  @Mother0fDragons Thanks for starting this thread!
  • I'm West Coast Florida so we had some heavy rain and wind but nothing unusual for the season. Lots of downed branches and trash cans. We're usually in the line of fire so I'm counting myself lucky.

  • Glad that you all are safe.  I saw the Jacksonville Pier was destroyed.  :(
  • I hope everyone continues to remain safe.  Reading about the damage has been crazy.  I feel bad for all you ladies down south and any loved ones folks have in the area.
