Re: TWW Tuesday 10/4

  • R/R: we are supposed to get snow on Saturday... I'm not ready for winter!

@MrsN092714 Mind if I ask what state you live in?  I couldn't imagine having SNOW right now.  We were glad the temp dropped from 90 degrees to the 70s last week.

  • @lulu1180 Aw thanks!!!

@mrlight I figured that out last night as well!  It's a game changer.

  • @MrsN092714 Brr! I like one or two Snow Days per year.  But only if it snows Monday-Thursday.  And if it enough for the roads to close.

@NYTino24 Hugs for your sister today.  I can't imagine what she is going through.

  • @Sirius37 Normally your cycle will be longer since your LP should stay the same give or take a day or so each cycle. If you ovulate earlier, you would have a shorter cycle.

@lUnd I'm not sure I understand your question and perhaps I did not answer the CD/DPO question correctly. I ovulated on Sept 26, I am 8 days past ovulation and my next cycle day is Oct 10.

***Addendum*** I just got it! I did answer that incorrectly. Derp! I am on cycle day 23 of 28!

  • @Sirius37 hi wedding song twin! Your LP will typically stay the same every cycle and wouldn't really fluctuate more than a day or two regardless of when you O. The only thing different will be that your cycle will be longer.

@Amanda_Moon 10 DPO is still a little early for testing not saying that it wouldn't be possible to get a BFP but if you feel you would be really let down by a BFN you might want to wait a couple more days. Also, you may want to consider ordering some wondfos to test, as testing regularly with first responses can become costly. GL to you!

@wabash15 I've been tracking my periods for several years now. There have been times where I am a few days early or a few days late but for the majority of the time, my cycles are 28 days long. **Edit** For the past 6 cycles, they have been exactly 28 days. Not to say that can't change at any moment (making my regular period irregular) but for right now, I'm going with a 28 day cycle because that has been my running average.

@beachbunnyxo123 I realize it's a bit early. I am just anxious. According to First Response, it's around 96% accurate 5 days before your missed period. Whether I get a BFN or BFP, I will test again on the 10th. Thanks for the tip regarding the cheaper pregnancy tests! I will look into it :) I miss the days where my bestie worked at a doctor's clinic and we could get them free of charge!

  • @NYTino24 @beachbunnyxo123 (heeeeyyyyy you have great taste in music! ;)) Thank you for explaining the LP length for me! Now I'm wondering if there is something up with me after all since my LP has been anywhere from 12 to 16 days and it seems like it shouldn't fluctuate that bad....damn it.

@rainbowturtles Do you have a saltwater pool in your area? That's the type of pool I currently use and it's pretty awesome; I bet you anything you wouldn't suffer a rash. Get swimming though! It's one of the best workouts out there....and I could use a water buddy to help keep me accountable.

  • @Sirius37 I wouldn't worry that's a typical length for an LP! It could also seem like it fluctuates more if there are some discrepancies on when O occurred which can also be common with temping late, secondary signs, etc. sounds like you are right where you need to be  ;)
  • @Sirius37 I wouldn't worry if it's long. It's more of a problem if it's short. Are you temping and doing OPKs to check when you ovulate? Here is what FF says: https://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Varying-Luteal-Phase-Length.html

@Sirius37 I can only go to the leisure center pools and I'm faaairly certain they're both chlorine but I plan on asking, anyways. There's a class at 920 tomorrow that I would like to attend....I've enjoyed my lazy mornings lately since I'm being woken up so early, but I know I can do it lol (it's the latest class they have unless I want to go at 730pm :p) I went for a 2.5mi walk today and did some body weight strength exercises, so that's a start ;)

@TheMrs I hope you sleep better tonight! I know the battle with loud neighbors ugh

@CallaLily25 It definitely looks like you ovulated to me, and your temps are staying very high despite the moderate drop. Do you temp vaginally?

@eggplantface I would have been sooo frustrated with that DJ! Although we had our troubles with ours as well, when he announced we would be taking the floor for our first dance he definitely called me “Megan”….. which isn’t even remotely close to “Kayla” lol!

@JackieMarie1989 I am going to try my best to hold out for testing too! I’m also 3 DPO and looking ahead, trying to make it allll the way to next Saturday. Good luck!

@NYTino Sorry for your sister, I hope everything goes well and she comes to peace with it. My mother always wanted 3 children and also had a hysterectomy after 2. FWIW, she told me her pain was much more manageable afterwards and that she felt a huge sense of relief in that way.

@CrystalPDX I hope you feel better soon

@Amanda_Moon I really want to see Masterminds! It looks hilarious. Also, Smashing Pumpkins is among my favorite bands. I always feel like I’m 14 again when I listen to them.

  • @PolarBear517 I temp orally, but I'm considering switching next cycle.

So, I stupidly peed on an OPK out of curiousity today because last month after O, I had either no line or a barely there line. I thought it'd make me feel better that I definitely Oed. Well, it was DARKER than the control line. And I had watery CM and a high cervix. I'm beyond confused. I can't think of any other reason for my thermal shift than ovulation. I'm not sick. I even tested for a UTI just in case...negative. I wish I knew what my body was doing. :(

  • @CallaLily25  Did you have a fever, possibly? To me that BBT seems high for an oral temp, but I am just a beginner. If you look at my chart, I had a definite sustained thermal shift at CD 14 and FF gave me dotted crosshairs (They were only dotted because I had negative OPKs for several days before and after). I am glad that I've been using OPKs because I doubted the crosshairs based on my previous experience of a strong LH surge (2 days of strong OPKs with another day on each side of almost positives seems like it would be hard to miss!). FF only took away the crosshairs after I had positive OPKs, which I confirmed with CBAD while trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I have no clue what caused that temperature jump, but at this point I'm not worrying about it and I feel I will have more information retrospectively. I scoured the internet for information on why you might have an LH surge after ovulation but all sources seemed to say that it means you haven't yet ovulated (unless of course you are so far past ovulation that you are turning OPKs because of pregnancy/HCG). I would try to HIO and proceed as though you haven't ovulated. I would guess that, if your OPK is accurate/truly positive, your temps will continue to fall and will then spike again after ovulation.
