I've been weepy too. I cried at a wedding Saturday night when the bridesmaids walked down to the Shire theme from LOTR. The bridesmaids! Then later I cried (but stopped myself quickly) when H told me he was tired of dancing.
Heartburn is getting me too. I love spicy food so much, and experimenting with hot sauce has been my oasis among the food and beverage restrictions, but I'm suffering right now. Hopefully some Tums will do the trick.
Achy legs and feet and sometimes back pain. Nips are still sore, RLP still there.....but I feel baby girl pretty much daily and it is incredible. Yesterday I either had a bad muscle cramp or she wedged a hand or foot into my hip...it hurt so bad and then went away after a little while.
I woke up at 3 a.m. with a painful gas bubble in my side. I couldn't get comfortable in any position... until it 'passed' and I finally fell asleep again.
Also, every night before bed, I've been getting terrible twitchy legs. DH and I can barely sit on the same couch b/c he's like "why in the world are you moving your legs every 5 seconds?".
The whole left side of my lower back/butt/back of my leg hurt like crazy. I'm hoping it's a short term thing because Tylenol doesn't even acknowledge it, let alone take the edge off. Feeling super breathless, all the time, and still getting dizzy/fainting spells occasionally.
Still better than pretty much all of first tri though!
I hear you ladies on the weepy hormones! I'm an absolute freaking mess!
DH told me last night to wake him up any time I had to pee so he could help me out of bed (bad sciatic nerve pain)... I SOBBED at how selfless that was since he knows its 2-3 times every night and he has work all day.
I had to get new glasses today because my eyesight has gone to hell. I've now been sobbing for the past 45 minutes about how expensive they were even though we financially can afford them just fine.
Maybe pregnant women are just insanely hormonal so that we can attempt to be more understanding of our children's future meltdowns over absolutely nothing?!?!
+1 for being a weepy hot mess. DH joked that he was going to make a blog like the "Reasons my kid is crying", except "Reasons my pregnant wife is crying" LOL
I have been weepy too! This morning, I listened to an episode of This American Life that was kind of sad, and I almost had to turn it off because I was on the verge of tears.
The weird dreams continue, as does the RLP. Nothing new.
Hip pain is getting bad. Especially if I'm standing for any amount of time. Which sucks since I'm a photographer at a studio, so I'm constantly on my feet or going up and down all the time!
Still puking/gagging at any random things. tired, but not sleeping. Had a couple dizzy spells. but doctor is not too concern (said just to record them, and see if there is a pattern or not to them)
Another +1 for the crying. I started crying in a restaurant Saturday night watching the Big Papi tribute at the Sox game. Thankfully we had our check at that point and could leave because with each person they brought on to the field I got more weepy!
Also, +1 on the headaches which sometimes turn in to migraines (which I got before being pregnant) but man, I wish I could take something stronger than Tylenol.
Oh, and my nips are weird and rough. It's so bizarre. And when I get cold they get super sore but are fine otherwise.
@CurlyCupcake21 My nips are being weird too. I think I'm starting to get some dried colostrum. I can run my finger over my nips and the stuff just flakes off. Super weird.
Hip pain has been a little better, but it did wake me up in the night. And I guess subconsciously I was trying to distract myself, because when I went to pee I whacked my head on the shower door so loudly that DH woke up and came to hug me while I stood there grabbing my head and crying. So also I'm weepy? I've also been having weird ocular migraines, which seem to be brought on by bright lights. Last week at my parents' I pretty much got up from the dinner table and went to bed when I realized everyone's faces just looked like shadowy blobs.

Has anyone gone to the eye doctor while pregnant? I've definitely noticed a shift in my vision lately which I read can happen during pregnancy and I'm overdue for an eye exam. I'm just wondering if it's worth going in since my change in vision is probably pregnancy related or if I should just wait until after the baby and see if it goes back to normal then.
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
@marriedhamstermom I went in today for an eye exam because I can barely see while driving anymore (even just looking at the tv is blurry!) One of my eyes has gone from a -.25 to a -1.25 sooooo it's gotten bad and changed a lot! They gave me a prescription for new glasses (of course my hormones made me leave sobbing that I paid so much for new glasses) but my doctor actually just got back from maternity leave as well. She said once I deliver the baby, I may notice that when my fluids and water retention go down that my eyesight improves to where it used to be again, or it may stay just as shitty :-/ I'm not sure which one I hope for since I just blew the bank on new glasses but also really hate wearing glasses to begin with.
I don't cry much. I think I'm more prone to crying when I'm really really mad. Not necessarily when I'm sad. (I was the only one in the theater who didn't cry during Titanic, even though I tried really hard.) So I thought for sure I'd be a crier when I got pregnant. Nope not happening. Even now, my husband takes the award for crying the most. But who knows I still have a few months left.
Count me in for crying over all the things. It's so embarrassing. I think my H is starting to be frightened of me when I get emotional. I know it's irrational, which usually only makes me feel more upset and cry more.
Im normally a stomach/back sleeper and am already so sick of sleeping on my sides. It wakes me up constantly throughout the night. Obviously a small complaint but I dream of the day I'll be able to sleep on my back again!
@marriedhamstermom I went to the eye doctor at about 15 weeks and found out that my eyesight had actually improved! My eyes weren't all that bad (I wore a .50), but they're all the way back up to 20/20 now. My astigmatism has worsened slightly, though. Doc said the astigmatism is likely a result of normal progression, but the improvement in distance vision is probably totally due to pregnancy.

@marriedhamstermom i went for a contact lens check around 12 weeks as literally couldnt see when wearing my contacts (not had any problems with my glasses) so i got some sample daily disposables instead as i had monthlies before. It made such a difference, i went back for a check up a few weeks ago & my optician seems to think it was a hormonal reaction to the original contacts, something to do with drier eyes during pregnancy.
I'm literally at my wits end. The longest stretch I can sleep at night or during a nap is 1.5-2 hours. It's awful. I can be awake sitting in bed, exhausted for hours. I've tried pillows, I've tried shower before bed, sleeping on the couch, on another bed, etc. I go to bed at 8;15 now and seriously only get probably 4 solid hours of sleep a night and those aren't continuous hours either. I feel like I'm on the verge of a breakdown I'm so tired. I can barely function during the day, which is beyond difficult with a classroom full of first graders. Let alone all the other things I need to accomplish each day at home and outside of work. I'm desperate for any tips or tricks. Any advice is welcome, or I really think I may lose my mind.

@paigeed have you tried benadryl or unisom? Both medications are safe for pregnancy and help you sleep. I try to not use them much, even though my OB said both were fine. This may be enough to get you to sleep and get back in the habit! I used benadryl for some allergies and I had a nagging migraine that would not go away and knew would hinder my sleeping. Slept like a baby!!
@paigeed I second unisom. I try not to use it that often but when I'm just too exhausted and still can't sleep or when I had my cold and was struggling to sleep I took it and it made a huge difference!

Another one with hip pain over here! I used to be a stomach sleeper, but I can't do that anymore. Sleeping on my hips in the worst, I toss and turn all night from hip to hip!
Thanks everyone for the eye doctor input. Looks like I'll be making an appointment since even if my eyes did only change because of pregnancy it doesn't make sense to be squinting for the next 4-5 months.

@ColeBug89 - same here. I get comfortable, than I need to move to my other side and once I do I get aching hips. I get hip aches from just rolling to the other side and when I have to get up from my sleep all the times to pee in the night
I haven't tried Benedryl or Unisom. I have allergies as well and Benedryl knocks me out and makes me feel groggy/drunk the next morning with only half a dose. Anti-histamines so that to me. Do you think Benedryl or Unisom would be better for me? I know nothin about Unisom, all I know is I'm losing my mind.

I personally use the sleeper keeper which is awesome, I think I just have achy hips from this growing belly. My back and feet get sore during the day and that pillow really helps my back feel good at night
@Gretchypoo I use a body pillow between my legs which sometimes helps, but then it gets annoying to flip the pillow over with me each time! I have a small boppy wedge pillow that I might start using instead, but I use that on my back for when I accidentally flip on my back while sleeping.
@paigeed I would try the Unisom and do a half pill and see if it works. Benadryl knocks me out too, but by the morning I am okay with it. I feel like that lingered a little more than Unisom. I think the Unisom is mostly a sleep aid. I used it a lot when I had m/s. Definitely could NOT take during the day, but when I woke up and started moving I was okay. I want to say i did like 25mg or maybe even half of a 25 mg pill. I can't remember now and don't have any left to check!
Thanks for trying to help out @Gretchypoo! I'll eventually figure out what works, and if not, it's only a few more months until I can hopefully go back to being a stomach sleeper lol

+1 for being weepy. I'm sensitive, but not usually one who cries so it feels weird wanting to sob over everything.
