Dd1 is getting into a habit of waking up at 505...to watch mickey while drinking her milk.
DH and I get up at 5. Usually we drag her put of bed at 530 (we leave the house at 6) this week she figured out if she's up early she gets tv time while mommy and daddy get ready for work and prep lunches. That sneaky 2yo.
Completely random question here. I was walking up the stairs and felt a popping sensation in my left ankle. Now it throbs and I'm having a hard time putting my weight on it. I didn't trip or roll it or anything. Think it could just be a stress fracture? My ankles haven't really had much swelling yet either. So weird.
@ajstevenson the one time I sprained my ankle playing soccer as a teenager- it made a big pop sound. I'd say that regardless, the loosening of ligaments and joints is due to pregnancy. Thanks a lot babies! But really, if it starts swelling, you could go into the dr., they will say to elevate it and ice on and off regularly to keep swelling and pain down. Sorry about the ankle no fun.
I'm lazy on my bumpin for a few days and I come back to like 75 new comments on this thread alone. I just skimmed the cliff's notes version to catch up.
@dmontgo Good luck on the move! How sweet of you to give the Singer to your neighbor. Man I LOVE those!
For all those worried about traveling, I have a work trip scheduled for 34 weeks, flight and all. I'll have to get a note from my OB to be able to fly. But it's like REALLY important for me to go. Plus it's the last time DD can fly for free before she turns 2, so we're making a mini-vaca out of it to New Orleans. At least it's just like an hour flight (which I insisted on as opposed to a 7+ hour car ride each way).
So after several weeks of being sick and kind of lazy, I finally forced myself up at 5am to go to the gym before work. Packed my bag to shower there last night. Get out of the shower at the gym and realize I've totally forgotten a bra. Now, if you've seen my HDBD pics you know this isn't a huge loss. I'm not well-endowed. But pregnancy has the girls perky nearly 24/7, which makes it SO much weirder. Fortunately I packed a scarf that I am trying to strategically arrange for the day. On the plus side, I've never been more comfortable. I take my bra off as soon as I get in the car, so this will be a nice reprieve!
Had my identity stolen last week- they opened an amazon credit card in my maiden name (which hasn't been my name for 5+ years, so no idea how that came about!!)- check your credit reports often ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone else have a stretchy baby? Squish's new favorite past time is stretching. I feel tiny hands and feet pushing out my belly. Not that I can see a defined hand or foot, but I certainly feel it! I guess they're running out of room in there...

@phoenix870509 Yes! Rhett is head down now and his favorite thing is to stretch. It feels like pressure on the top of my belly and also down low. Very distinguishable from his kicks and his squirming around. He's done it a lot the last couple of days
Thank you @LinziLoo09n for the cliffs notes version. I went through most of the randoms yesterday as I was getting a pedi (it was terrible down there!)
@dmontgo, I have lurking and reading about your BP struggles, hurricane etc, so I hope it is smooth sailing from here on! Exciting about finding an apt and the move. I love planning & figuring out where all the stuff is going to go in the new place, especially in the kitchen. And remember stuff is just stuff, it's always such a nice feeling to make someone feel better, that sticks with you.
@maamawaabangi, I am sorry for your loss. My grandpa has been sick for a long time, he had a blood clot in his legs which made him bed ridden in 2007! We thought we would lose him then and every year or so there after. It is a roller coaster ride everytime he has some sort of complication. He is fading away slowly (dementia), but still with us. I am sure it will still be a shock and hurt a lot when it happens.
@troller, that sucks! I had someone try to open an account one time when I threw away my mail in my lab trash can at work. The cleaning crew must have grabbed those credit card offers I threw away, but they were denied because there was not much addition info. Careful with those offers and shred them!!
@slartybartfast, I noticed that it depend what you tell people as far as how far along you are. If I say I am 7 months (finished 7th month), they are like oh you have a while, so they mean you are big! If I say I am in the 8th month, they are like wow you are tiny. If I say have 7 weeks left they are like oh you still have more to grow. If I say 32 weeks then I get a mix....so weird! I just say in the 8th month because I know I will get the comment I want! Lol

I'm officially 180 lbs, which was how much I weighed when I gave birth to DD2. Dang it. I'm 5'3" and normally 135lbs. I'm in so much trouble, the 3rd tri is when I start retaining mass amounts of water. Only 8 more weeks to go. And instead of getting the 'so small' comments, I get the pity looks and the 'that must be a big baby!' when people ask for my due date. Why is it ok to judge what a woman should look like when she is pregnant?
@yellingbanana same boat!!! 5'3 135 pre-pregnancy, 172 on my weigh in Wednesday, and about 9 more weeks to go. I'm over the "big baby" comments and pity looks. I had one woman tell me I was tiny, but then wouldn't look me in the eye after that
We just had a friend stop by and give us $1,200 in cash. I don't have a Facebook, but apparently our friend set up a fundraiser to help us cover expenses from our sudden move, and people donated!
I'm so overwhelmed by how kind people are right now. In addition to the money we've made from selling furniture, we have completely remade the money we spent on the rent deposit plus expenses we've had to buying things to replace old items we didn't take to the apartment.
Yikes, guys...for some reason 170 seems like a really scary number. I'm similar to you guys, @BabyRobbinsAdventure and @yellingbanana -- 5'4'' and around 130 pre-pregnancy. At my appointment 3 weeks ago I was in the 160's, and I know I'll most likely go into the 170's pretty soon here, based on how my body seems to relish putting on the pounds. It's just a mindf***. I worked so hard to keep myself accountable with my weight before I got pregnant. The thought of having to lose 40+ pounds is both terrifying and exhausting.
BUT MY BODY KNOWS WHAT IT IS DOING! I can be healthy! I've got this!

Ugh, I feel like I need someone to stand over me sternly and make me write these shower thank you notes. It's not even that big of a deal. What's my problem?
@PensiveCrayon usually a good chunk is water weight, I lose about half of what I gained within a month of giving birth.
@Austenista shhhh, don't tell anyone but I never wrote thank you cards from my last baby shower. I did send thank you emails, which seems much easier to me for some reason. I'm terrible at thank you cards. I try to express my gratitude in words when I see that person next. Or if they came to visit me, I made sure DD was wearing the outfit they gave us (that always gets them excited!).
Daycare sent all but 10 pull ups home. DD has not had an accident there in 2 months...that's their cutoff for being officially potty trained. She was so proud carrying that bag of pull ups out and told everyone she only poops in the potty now! She's not even 2.5 yet! I'm so proud I almost cried!
@dmontgo That's so sweet! How has the move gone? I can't believe it happened so quickly.
For all those concerned about weight gain, try not to worry too much about it. It's so hard to tell what it's going to look like after the baby is out, and you lose so much (fluid, baby, blood, placenta, etc) up front too. Things will look a bit different for a while...or indefinitely, but 40lbs gained pregnant is very different from 40lbs gained not pregnant. And fyi, with DD I healed super quickly and my midwives gave me the all-clear to go low intensity in my old spin class at like 3.5 weeks pp. My instructor (who is a sweet guy but kind of has the filter of a 4 year old) pointed at my stomach, laughed, and said, "Oh my God, you have a belly!" I'm like, "Dude, I just gave birth less than a month ago. Seriously?!" And I was pretty proud of how I looked postpartum too lol. Just try not to let all of this affect you emotionally, if you can. So many more important things to worry about right now
@sourlemon That is awesome! DD isn't 2 yet, and we are just now broaching potty training. I think the main problem is us though; we're so exhausted when we get home that it's difficult to consider sitting in a small bathroom with a hyper toddler on an hourly basis or something. Blah.
@LinziLoo09 We are technically moved into the new apartment, but we still have a bunch of stuff at the old house that we need to throw away, sell, or move. DH wanted to get me into the new apartment ASAP so I could relax and let him take care of the move. Considering that now I'm on modified bedrest, I'm glad it happened so quickly.
There are times when I get sad about it though, like how we are losing/lost our Halloween decorations and furniture. I try to laugh about it and remind myself that I *did* want to nest hardcore and clean everything...apparently I wanted to nest SO HARD that I willed trees on our house to get a brand new, clean place. Haha.
@LinziLoo09 I do really like the new apartment! It's smaller than our house was but it has a nice open floor plan and the right amount of space we need--no stairs for me to climb to get to the nursery, and one less bathroom and room for me to clean! We also have a lot of natural sunlight, a big pool, a gym, and other nice amenities included, not to mention a big park and library within walking distance. But still, moving is never fun.
My BP was 146/113 at my appointment last Thursday. My doctor threatened to hospitalize me but didn't because of the hurricane circumstances that he believes were driving it so high. So I'm on modified bedrest until Ashton is born. I can do a few light things around the house (no lifting) or go on one errand a day (DH drives me) but for every thing I do, I have to spend at least an hour sitting and resting. It's not ideal for my personality type, but still getting dressed and making a very small to-do list each day helps. I do think it is helping, though.
I'm in a fantasy league with my college/biking buds - mostly guys. We were collectively giggling over email after my husband tried to open a trade discussion by offering up his tight end. I turned it to a different sort of giggle by complaining about pregnancy constipation (we are the only ones with kids except one... and most of the others don't even have a partners). Now I've hijacked the whole email string to list out and complain about pregnancy symptoms. HEHEHEHE
There are two dogs handing out in my yard that are not mine... They have tags but are skiddish and won't let me get close enough to take a look. Guess I'll be knocking on all the neighbors doors when everyone gets home.
ETA: FI just pointed out this will make 5 dogs that we've found (in 3 events) since I've been pregnant. Odd.
Price you pay for living in an apartment: hearing your upstairs neighbors bang...very loudly. Our apartments are weird because you can't hear voices or people speaking, but you can hear their bed making that
I had a dream last night in between my 230 and 345 pee breaks that DH and I had sex. I considered waking him up this morning but decided dream sex was just easier at this point. Poor DH haha.
@penelope4612 Haha nice. What's so funny to us is that at our other house, there was some neighbors that loved to fight on their porch. It would be weird because we would barely hear the woman, but the man loved to shout, so their arguments would sound like this:
Woman: Memememememememe hehe hehe hehe
Man: OH YEAH WELL ANCHOVIES TASTE DELICIOUS!
Woman: mewmewmewmewmew kekekekekeke
Man: I'M OKAY WITH THAT!!!ONEONEONE1111
So at least the neighbors here like each other?
ETA: The above is an actual argument we heard one late night haha.
One of my husband's relative just told me I should have another ultrasound because there is "no way I could only be 30 weeks along"... yeah. Hum. So helpful. Thankfully my husband quickly came to my rescue as I just stared at her and told her that we don't need another and that I am measuring on date... But still. Tomorrow we get to see the whole clan! Yay!
DH and I just did a screen free weekend. Aside from a couple calls and texts to coordinate with friends we did no smart phone, computer, ipad, tv from Friday morning til DS went to bed today. It was nice and I'll definitely be doing it more often. I read so much. I'm amazed to come back to D16 and find new babes!
