Hello ladies! *waves* 

*TW* I had a natural loss in mid-August @8 weeks. Everything passed quickly and the 3 days afterward my hcg levels were 400 something. 2 days ago I took a hpt for the heck of it and it was an immediate, dark bfp. I figured it might just be leftover hormone at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it might not be. My doctor is ordering blood work so we can figure out if I am or not. I am trying so hard not to get excited in case it is the leftover hormone and just perhaps wanted to talk with some ladies.  Not exactly sure where I should have posted this, but figured here was best?  Side note - I have not had AF yet, but I also have PCOS so super far from regular. FX'd

Hello GG620,

I'm hoping I'm in a similar boat.  I mc over Labor Day weekend (so 26-27 days ago).  It was fairly quick, bleeding for 9 days total with spotting before and after included, and AF still hasn't shown, which is 3-4 days late for me.  My dr has been testing my blood every week, early last week it was at 87.  I took an hpt last week, Friday or Saturday hoping it would be negative so I'd know it was over and I could trust the tests again, but it was positive which that makes sense given the 87 hCG.  But the no AF and the BFP even if it was a left over has me confused but wanting to be hopeful. 

On one hand, I know I shouldn't be hopeful because even if my cycles were regular before mc, that doesn't mean they'll be the same after.  But then with my temps I want to be hopeful. They show a fairly clear high line at the beginning of mc and then it drops on 9.11 and then it spikes again on 9.15 (low on 9.16, but that temp was taken 1 hr earlier than normal) and stays consistently high, with the exception of one temp 9 days after the spike on the 23. Part of me wonders if the 87 was already a new pregnancy. I get my blood draw again on Thursday and it can't come soon enough!

I want to be hopeful for both of us!

@GG620. Did your doctor not retest to make sure your hcg was dropping after the 400 hcg? It is possible that a slow drop gave you a positive test and is also why your period is late if there is still hcg in your system.  I'm glad they are following up so you can get some clarity! The not knowing is the hardest part! 

@OneRedFish it's possible that you didn't ovulate with the 87 hcg still in your system and that's why you are late and getting positive tests? Does your chart look like you ovulated or did you do ovulation tests? I feel like figuring out of cycles after a loss is so confusing! 

I have a very similar story as both of you ladies and am still waiting on answers too.   I had a MC on Aug 19, 3 weeks later by hcg was 2 (under 5 is considered not pregnant).  I think I ovulated a day or two after that and am now getting positive tests! I'm really hopeful but it's so hard after a tough loss.

Thinking of you both and hoping you get some answers soon.  Please keep us updated!

@JessyKV I didn't do ov tests, just temps.  My chart looks so similar to pre-mc cycles that I want very much for it to be the same thing - staying high and being late means a positive. But I'm not quite there.  Yes, the waiting is the hard part.  I want to know.  Part of me is grateful that I live now and have the tests and whatnot to "judge" by, however, part of me thinks that the past where all you could do was wait and not "try to figure it out" is a better route.  I'll know something by Friday - AF will show, or not; the beta will drop, or it will rise ... God has answers for me and He holds my heart.  I'll keep strong in that.

I'm sorry for your losses ladies. I had the same thing happen. My loss happened on 8/15 at 6wks.  They followed my HCG back to 4.  Thought I had a UTI a few weeks later and turned out I am pregnant again. I went for my dating scan yesterday and they determined that I am 5wks. Saw a Gest sac and yolk sac.  They are thinking I got KU about 3 weeks after I miscarried.

Is there a reason your docs weren't following your HCG any lower.  My doc said they wanted to make sure I went back to below 5 before they discharged me for it. They wanted to make sure everything passed and that there was nothing left over. FX for the 2 of you though. Please keep us posted.

I had a similar story, here is wishing the best for both of you!!!! I had a loss at 5 weeks over 4th of July weekend, although I only bled for about 2 days so quite a bit shorted than an actual period. My doctor followed my HCG until it hit single digits, so I knew I was officially no longer pregnant. The next cycle, I ovulated day 21 (7 days later than normal) confirmed by an ovulation test. We decided to "give it a shot" and found out we are expecting again on Aug 3. It can happen!
