Re: Symptoms 9/26:

  • Is dry eye a thing during pregnancy? Either that or I am EXTREMELY exhausted, but it just feels like my eyes can't stay open but the rest of me is awake, so I am thinking dry eyes??

  • @MrsRahl I think so. Mine are also super dry and hard to keep open.

  • @MrsRahl according to Dr. Google it is a pregnancy thing, due to hormonal changes. It usually resolves after delivery, sometimes it could stay a few months afterwards too.

You can try to use a warm compress on it to maybe open some blocked preservative tear pathways, or if it really becomes bothersome for you, your doctor could probably recommend some eye drops.

  • Don't know how I missed this the other day. @TinaBelcher I hope you are home feeling better! Good vibes for you and the baby girls.

Has anyone experienced any pelvic pressure? I moved a bunch of boxes last night and I am thinking that is what caused it (i only feel it when I'm walking around). I brushed it off as just that, but now from Dr. Google I'm wondering if this is something I should be concerned about. I have my monthly OB check tomorrow so I will bring it up (even if it goes away), but I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I'm 26 or 27 weeks depending on which ultrasound i'm going by.

ETA I don't have cramps or any pain in my lower back. It's literally just that. I can also feel baby kicking up high--maybe he's head down and lifting boxes made it worse?

I had dry eye issues before getting pregnant, my optometrist said that it can be caused by a bacterial imbalance on your eyelid margins, which interferes with your year production. She recommended that I wash my face with baby soap/baby shampoo, and VERY gently rub my (closed) eyes with the soap a couple of times. I've been doing that for a few years and it has made a world of difference.

  • @TinaBelcher glad things turned out ok!! Enjoy Supernatural ;)
  • @TinaBelcher just getting to this thread now. What a week this has been for you! Im sorry thst youve had to go through all this. Happy to hear that you're home and are able to reduce your hours at work. It sounds like you are listening to your body really well--I'd trust that and know that your body and your girls will let you know if "anything else changes". And, as pp have said, high fives to that cervix doing its job!
  • @TinaBelcher Oh I'm so glad to hear things are still going well!

I've been having a lot of this too, chalking it up to Braxton Hicks but it's weird because it's mostly low and not the top of the bump. Does resting on your left side make it stop at all?
  • @canavara good to know I'm not alone! I really only feel it when I'm moving around and it's kind of a heaviness and like you described, low down... Almost like the baby is curled in a ball down there and it's heavy to carry around. I can't really tell if it's from lifting boxes or if this is what BH feels like or what. I called the OB nurse so I wouldn't keep worrying and she said it sounded like RLP, but I think it feels a bit lower than where my RLP usually is. Since no actual pain or discharge change, she said not to worry, but to definitely mention it at my appt. Who knows--I'll def ask OB about it at my monthly appt tomorrow and report back to anyone else experiencing the same thing!
  • @TinaBelcher I'm so glad you're doing okay!!

  • I've had a terrible headache/migraine since Tuesday evening. I've tried just about everything that has ever worked in the past: hot shower, hot bath, cold compress, warm compress, only drinking water (basically all I ever drink anyway), eating crunchy apples (for some reason, the extra jaw movement helps), essential oils, caffeine, etc. Of course, Tylenol is worthless. Last night, however, I flipped back through the initial welcome packet I got from my OB and there is was: the OK to take ibuprofen after 12 weeks and before 30 weeks (limited dose, no more than 5 days in a row). I promptly marched over to the cabinet and took two (200mg each). It was magical. Of course, the headache is back now, but at least I slept and got some relief. I'm nervous about taking too much (five days in a row seems like a lot) so I'm going to see if I can beat this one (pretty minor) with natural remedies. Anyway, just thought I'd share, since we're all nearing that 30 week mark (3.5 weeks away for me).
  • @canavara @newyearsbaby5 I have been having a lot of this too. Lots of very low pressure and some tightening BH. Kind of spazzed out late yesterday  and went in to get put on the fetal monitor because all day yesterday I couldn't get any real kicks from baby, even after eating and lying down. They assured me all was well and it was just Braxton hicks, as long as it wasn't painful.
  • @newyearsbaby5 I too have felt the pressure low when walking around. I had this my first 2 babies as well. Plus I'm having BH off and on throughout the day, drinking water helps me with them. I find the more walking I do the more I feel it though.
  • In case anyone is going through the same thing, OB said what I was feeling was definitely RLP, even though it is much further down from where I normally feel it. She did not seem concerned in the least bit.

She also said when she measured me, "woah, the baby is really crowding your lungs and stomach" so at least I felt like I wasn't going crazy in that I'm painfully full/can't breathe even after a small meal or snack.
  • @TinaBelcher Glad you got good news and seem to be doing ok!

Yes I've been feeling this too! It's usually after I do a lot of walking or working out. Really low and centered. I figured it's either RLP or Braxton hicks. It freaked me out the first few times, but it doesn't last all that long.

  • I'm totally late to this thread!

@TinaBelcher  what a crazy week you have had! Your little ladies are giving you a run for your money! Hang in there mama!

My main symptom is So much pressure! When I stand up, I feel like I'm going to fall over most of the time from the "pain". Oh and sooo tired, I'm up every few hours to ore during the night so I don't get solid sleep. Guess that's a glimpse into my future
