Ectopic pregnancy question

The doctors are going to do an ultrasound tomorrow, but are thinking that I'm having an ectopic pregnancy. Has anyone heard of them successfully moving the egg to the uterus to develop instead of removing it completely? I'm desperate and would love any information or advice you have.

Re: Ectopic pregnancy question

  • I'm sorry for what you are going through. I've never heard of them being able to relocate the egg. Fingers crossed it's not ectopic. <3
  • Sorry you are going through this. Unfortunately I have never heard of them relocating the egg either.

  • I have never heard of them moving the embryo to the uterus, I was given a shot to dissolve the pregnancy.  If you wait too long though it can result in the loss of your tube.

  • I googled it a while ago because a friend of mine went through it. Its not possible to remove the egg from the tube and place it in the uterus. Sadly if it is an ectopic the best option is if they can stop it from destroying your tube by giving the shot and it working to stop the growth. My friend was given the shot and unfortunately it was too late and she ended up losing the tube and ovary on that side. It can become a life threatening situation and its good they are looking at tube as they did not for my friend and just did a d&c which yielded no fetal tissue and the dr somehow didn't think that was concerning... anyway GL with everything that is going on and my thoughts are with you.
  • I work in surgery and have taken care of many ectopic pregnancy patients, in my experience once you are needing surgery we almost always have to take the tube. Very very rarely they are able to do a tubalasty and save the tube but I can't imagine it would function without fault after scar tissue forms. And no it is impossible to move the egg surgically. Sorry and GL to you.

  • I received the shot as well. I am sorry for what you are going through, I know it is really difficult. I hope you have better luck with your next pregnancy.
  • @heatherwilson321 How did the ultrasound go? How are you doing?

  • I just had an ectopic pregnancy :( I would have been 7 weeks today :'( I had to tell my 4 year old son that there is no more baby and we both started crying..it's so hard. I feel like I did something wrong...
