Had an extremely uneventful appt with the midwives on friday. "Heart rate, weight, no questions? Okay see you in 4 weeks." Yeah... I'll probably be skipping that appt.

ALL THE HORMONES. Seiously I DO NOT remember me being this bad last time.

GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant?

I made him a card book.. (since it was a couple days after fathers day) each line on a new page- 

Something to the effect of:
Even though Father's day has passed..
I just want you to know
How excited I am
To go on adventures with you
To hear your great stories
And even go rollerblading (inside joke)
But most of all
I am excited 
To meet you!!
Love number 2.

He skipped right on the last page and talked to our DS and said we'll isn't that nice lmao

Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling movement during quiet moments but not during the day when I'm distracted by work. I'm sure it will be much more noticeable soon. I fainted the other day so that was weird.

Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? I think it's terrible how much emphasis we put on weight gain during pregnancy. Everyone is different and as long as your trying to eat nutritionally (1st tri excluded) and get some exercise, take the vitamins, etc., if you and baby is healthy i think we need to all stop talking about it.

GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? He was the one that suggested I take the test so he was there for it. Sort of. We were talking about how my cycle was acting weird and told me to buy a test. It was late at night but I went out to Wal-Mart, took the test with FMU the next day but he was still sleeping. I rested the test on his night stand and said, "happy birthday," because his birthday was later that week.

Upcoming appointments this week? Nope. Ultrasound next week..can't wait! 

Any new symptoms or changes? Not really. Very emotional, still some gagginess. Nothing new, but feeling pretty good. 

Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? I kind of wish this part would go faster. I feel like the last few weeks have been kind of slow and I'm just ready to feel baby movements (and know for sure that's what they are) and know what we're having.

GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? Well, I showed him the test. I told him when my  period was late and when I was planning to take a test so he was waiting with me while the pee was drying. It would've been fun to have done something to surprise him but I'm glad he was with me every step of the way.

Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling much less nauseous.  Still really tired some days.  The last 2 days I've had a headache.  

Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? We told our kids yesterday and the oldest (she's 6) now blabs it to everyone.  

GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? I sent him a text message when he was across the room with a pic of the test.  Haha.  Super lame, but this is baby #4.  I was much more creative with the first couple.

Fwiw, I do not recommend skipping even routine appts. You never know if something could be going on with your urine/bp that you don't know about. 

Today I'm 15 weeks (orange!) 

Appt Fri was one of the quickies...love hearing that heartbeat! I actually go back in 3 weeks then 3 weeks again for my as because my appts are a little bit off due to a late first appt. 

My son is so grown up. Its breaking my heart! I want my baby back! 

I sent my H a text, lol.

Upcoming appointments this week? I have an appointment with my Nurse Midwife on Thursday and am excited to hear about our last ultrasound (at 14w.) Also excited to schedule our anatomy scan. 

Any new symptoms or changes? Headaches. So many headaches or maybe it's the same one since it never goes away! I've had maybe a handful of headaches my entire life up until now so it's not been an easy adjustment for me. 

Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? I'm still waiting to pop. I thought for sure I would start to look even a little pregnant by now. I had a friend tell me over dinner yesterday I still look so small (she just had a baby also.) I was a size 2 before I got pregnant! It doesn't make any sense to me. 

GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? I found out right before his birthday the day after we came back from a week long vacation in Mexico. I told him I wanted to treat him to dinner to thank him for such a wonderful trip. Over dinner I presented him with "an early birthday gift," which was a t-shirt that said World's Greatest Husband and Father. I had bought the shirt 3 years ago when we decided to actively start TTC so it was a good feeling finally giving it to him.

@longliveregina you are right. I would never recommend to someone to skip an appointment. Just meant to be a side comment for myself. My situation only. STM, when I'm not even peeing in a cup (new midwife group), am healthy, low BP etc. And can schedule an appt if anything changes.

Upcoming appointments this week? I was supposed to have an appointment this Wednesday but I went in on Thursday because of a suspected UTI. So we checked on baby and did all the normal things and canceled the next appointment. 

Any new symptoms or changes? I can feel my uterus now:)

Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? DS and I came down with a cold this weekend. And DS had a stomach bug. We are starting to feel better but then today my stomach was a little queasy. I don't know if it's random minor morning sickness coming back or I'm catching what DS had. 

GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? DH knew I was testing so I just told him outright. I actually had some cheap tests that gave me a very faint second line for a couple days so I was kind of hesitant to say for sure.

Any new symptoms or changes? My headaches have let up, but I am SUPER EMOTIONAL about food and at random points in the day... apparently crying because I was happy about cooked sushi is an example of my new norm now. Work should be fun this week. 

Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? I hear today or tomorrow whether the new OB accepts me. My phone is glued to me, especially because my old OB's office messed up scheduling my appointments- if I don't get a new OB in the next two weeks I legit might not get a quad screen at all and I can't actually believe that an OB office would force me into that situation because THEY messed up scheduling multiple times. We've known for months I'm doing the sequential screen, where the quad screen is the final part to it. They do it for almost all their patients. 

GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? Nothing super special, I waited until he was off work and we were at home. I wish it was a cuter story but I was so worried about what I'd done before I was pregnant I didn't want to make a big deal out of it (we'd been at a family vacation where I'd biked, climbed a rock wall, freefall ziplined, and done tons of other "dangerous" stuff). His reaction was still priceless tho

Upcoming appointments this week? Going for a quick check up today but mainly to get a note for missing work yesterday and today due to bring sick. Ultrasound 10/11

Any new symptoms or changes? Horrible flu and cold from hell. My stomach is also starting to look more pregnant. 

Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? Rants- being sick and missing work due to it. Rave- getting to watch all the trash TV I want. Questions I live in Canada on the west coast. We rarely get snow and pretty much no ice. I work indoors and spend very little time outside in the cold. Should I bother getting a maternity winter coat ? I usually just wear a warm sweater but not an actual winter coat. I probably won't end up getting one. 
Randoms- I think that all my t-shirts have shrunk up. 

GTKY: How did you tell your SO that you were pregnant? I went into the bedroom after taking the test in the AM and said 'well look what you did!' And showed him the test. We both laughed and cried (happy tears) and debated calling our parents. Decided against it. We want to surprise them.

@pinnerk I live in VA. Most on winter is mild, but January and February are generally quite snowy and icy and about 20-39 degrees F. I never bought a maternity coat, even though DS was born in February. I was hot all the time, a sweater and wearing my regular coat open worked fine.

@pinnerk I live in the snowy tundra of Maine but I won't be buying a maternity coat. Just wearing sweaters and light jackets un-zipped.  I think it sounds like you won't need one either - especially if you don't normally wear one.  And on top of it, pregnancy raises your body temp a bit and will most likely have you feeling extra toasty

UPDATING HERE BECAUSE I AM SUPER EXCITED but I don't want to make a whole new post on the board
THE NEW OB ACCEPTED ME TODAY
I was so happy I cried. The nurse called when she said she would, she was nice, she was proactive and had looked at my tests and unprompted was all over when she needed to schedule my first appointment to get tests done and handle the mistakes my old OB's office made. It felt like she had the best interests of my baby as her top priority and after the last 10 weeks of hell from the old OB it was amazing. I'm so, so happy.
