Stitch Fix

A few days prior to my BFP, I signed up for my first Stitch Fix box. I got my first box and fortunately a few pieces will be bump friendly. They do have maternity boxes- anyone give those a try? You can sign up to get the box every month, ever other, or every three!

Re: Stitch Fix

  • I do! I just got my box! I only kept one item a sweater that will be bump friendly, the jeans would have been good for first tri, the blouse was good for nursing they just weren't my preference. I was Impressed with the thoughtfulness!

@cubslove12 @MamaMiller Do you ladies feel your get your money's worth out of Stitch Fix? I've looked into it but I'm kind of picky about my clothes and how they fit so I'm worried that it wouldn't be worth it.

  • I've had about 6 Stitch Fix boxes.  The stylist does better each time. I was really disappointed with my first fix. Give feedback. It helps them to learn your style. If you have a fashion/style board on Pinterest, you can share the link to help your stylist.

  • @NurseK2016- My first box clothing were a bit more expensive then what I typically would spend on clothing. The clothing I got was great quality (more boutique quality/ price). I was very specific in my survey so everything honestly fit perfectly and I liked the style. There was a pair of jogging pants for $78 that I just can't justify on keeping. Since there was only one piece that would be bump friendly I will only keep that. If you do buy all pieces you receive a 25% discount. There is a $20 styling fee for each box. This does go towards a credit though for any item in your box.  For now I am going to keep getting the box every few months. I am excited to hear the maternity box had a good variety.
  • You have to check cheap as possible and it still can be pricey.  However quality is excellent, I have a shirt I wear regularly from 2+ years ago that still looks awesome. I find they send me stuff I would never normally try on and end up loving!  This sweater, but light gray, is what I just kept, I love it super comfy, can be dressed up or down!
  • I go back and forth on SF. Sometimes it's seems like they didn't read my previous history at all. I'm fact, my last fix included a shirt they had already sent me and I bought it the first time. Before my MC, I got a maternity fix and it was ok. But after I MC'd, I told them I was no longer pregnant and they still sent me a maternity fix. Very annoying.

Has anyone me ever heard of or done ale Tote? I think it's Stitch Fix but specifically for maternity clothes. I was thinking about checking that out.

  • @achays11 - I did Le Tote for a while but not the maternity version.  I was ok, but the biggest difference is you don't actually buy the clothes, you just wear them as long as you want and return them.  I was a little weirded out by wearing clothes someone else had worn, even thought they clean everything and nothing ever seemed dirty.  The bigger issue is that I didn't love a lot of their stuff.

I am doing StitchFix now (regular, haven't switched to maternity) and I like it much better.  I have had really good experiences each box and my stylist does a really good job responding to my advice/feedback.
  • I'm on box 15, I think?  I love Stitch Fix.  You have to be specific about you want and it does require some effort to get good boxes.  I have a box coming this week and then will likely request maternity starting with my next box.  I can't wait!

I have had a good experience with StichFix. I have had 4-5 fixes total, spread over a period of multiple years. I just get them every once in a while. Never subscribed. Some fixes were better than others but there was at least ONE good thing each time (all you need in order to not lose $).

I tried le Tote for a month and HATED it. You pay $49 to rent for a month. If you send your stuff back, they send you more within the month period, and it's as much as you can fit in the time period you end up getting for $49. Well, I wore one thing like the day after I got the box, and then sent the whole box back within a couple of days. Didn't get a replacement for weeks, but I did get one more box before the month was up. Unfortunately, everything in it was in bad condition (had clearly been sent around too much already.) I boxed it up and sent it back within an hour of receipt and cancelled my account. I complained because they claimed I should have probably gotten about 4 boxes in the month given how little time I kept them, and the second box was completely unusable. They apologized but didn't give me any money back or anything and kept spamming me. All in all a terrible experience. I do not recommend them.

  • Thanks @RainyDays86 and @kat81! I think that I'm going to try Stitch Fix. I have some maternity clothes from last time, but nothing is cute.
