Re: Friday Ticker Change 9/23
What are you doing this week to prepare for LO's arrival? Eh, not too much. I've been sick all week.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions: I am almost over my 2nd cold for the second time this pregnancy. When I woke up this morning, I noticed hives on my neck. Should I be concerned? Should I call the doctor? I consulted Dr. Google, and it appears normal, but I just wanted to see if any of y'all have experienced something similar.
When's your next appointment? October 3rd for a normal check up, and then October 18th for the glucose test.
GTKY: What is yours and your SO's song? The song we danced to at our wedding was "Sweet Thing," by Van Morrison. Our 2nd wedding anniversary is coming up on October 4th, and the traditional gift is cotton, so I am getting a pillow made with the lyrics stitched on it.

What are you doing this week to prepare for LO's arrival? We're still working out the final details of our kitchen renovations so the nursery will wait until that is done (hopefully early November). My parents bought him a baptism cap and my aunt bought him some onesies and a stuffed bear. This child already has bags of clothes!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions: Just the same ol' back pain. I've had a couple of nasty charlie horses in the middle of the night. It's getting harder and harder to get a full night's sleep. I'm either switching sides because of back pain or I have to run to the bathroom.
When's your next appointment? I have the glucose test October 13. I've been told to try to get the orange flavor if my doctor has it. Any other advice?
GTKY: What is yours and your SO's song? (If you don't have one, what song makes you think of your SO?) Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. It was always my favorite song so on our first anniversary (back in 1999!) he had his band perform it at one of their gigs. He gave me a dozen red roses and the CD he used to learn the song. It was by far the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me.
What are you doing this week to prepare for LO's arrival?
Nothing. Other than I might try to go find some pain swatches for when I begin painting the nursery in two weeks.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
Doing good. Having a little bit of sciatic/butt pain. And my left knee is sore. But I'm putting along. I have a wedding to coordinate tomorrow (outdoors of course!). I'm glad it's now, I don't know if I'd be much more help after this week, it's starting to get hard to bend.
When's your next appointment?
Oct. 14
GTKY: What is yours and your SO's song? (If you don't have one, what song makes you think of your SO?)
Frank Sinatra, The Way you Look Tonight. Played at our wedding and we just love some Frank. Modern song, would be Ho Hey by Lumineers. The "You're my sweetheart!" part is my ringtone for DH.

24 weeks today! Really enjoying his kicks, but I would rather have them during the day than at night when I'm asleep.
What are you doing this week to prepare for LO's arrival?
Ordered the crib, dresser, bedding, window treatments and mattress. Crib is being delivered today. Can't set it up just quite yet, the room isnt ready. Still need to take some stuff out, and do some light painting. Didn't realize how much work and time consuming it is, I get so tired and I take constant breaks, but at least I am starting now and not in December, what my mother was advising me to do lol.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
Rant: I am now changing tops like 3 times every morning for one that fits. It's still hot (90-100 degrees this week yuck) and all the maternity clothes I bought are meant for fall weather. Go away summer! Winter is coming.
Rave: Maybe it's just me, but I used to have such brittle nails. Now, they grow fast and look healthy, and they don't break so easily like the used to.
Symptoms: I am just so sleepy throughout the day, I so wish I could have a bed at work to take a nap in after lunch. But if I take a nap during the day, I can't sleep at night. Also, hip pain went away for the most part. Back pain appears every once in a while. But I have started prenatal yoga and I think it helps out a lot!
Question: My nose is just killing me. I don't get allergies, but now my nose is so stuffed up lately, and bloody sometimes too. I have been using a cool mist humidifier at night when the problem is the worst, but it's still not helping. Any suggestions?
When's your next appointment?
October 4th. Check up and glucose test. Yaaaaaaay........?
GTKY: What is yours and your SO's song? (If you don't have one, what song makes you think of your SO?)
Crazy for You by Madonna, our wedding song. His mom passed away when he was 12 but she loved Madonna so having that song was extra special for him. Like in a way, she was there witnessing our first dance as husband and wife.
24 Weeks! Baby is the size of a cantaloupe and considered viable wooo (though I want her to stay in there for mannyyy more weeks!).
What are you doing this week to prepare for LO's arrival?
This week has been nuts. I spent most of it at a gigantic trade show in Cologne, Germany and I'm exhausted. So- NOTHING!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
Said trade show, in retrospect, was not a good idea. I'm completely rundown today. And I've had a little abdominal pain all day, which freaked me out so I went to my hospital's pregnancy walk in clinic. Baby's heartbeat was good and all my vital's were normal so they told me to rest and go back if it's not gone tomorrow. I hope I wake up feeling better!
When's your next appointment?
Wednesday for my flu shot and a midwife appt.
GTKY: What is yours and your SO's song? (If you don't have one, what song makes you think of your SO?)
Well our wedding song was "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen (yeaaaaaaa- it was epic) so that and then probably this 12 minute epic song called "The Past is a Grotesque Animal" by Of Montreal.
@Alicjab I've been having the same issue. I've never had an issue with bloody noses but now when I blow my nose it's gross. Sadly I don't have any tips as it's a new one for me!
@gonetothesea- I LOVE that song. Great choice

What's new with your little babe? How far along are you?
Growing and his kicks are getting stronger!
What are you doing this week to prepare for LO's arrival?
Not much, getting ready to make and send out our babyshower invitations.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
Stomach is stretching and itchy a bit, extra RLP, I pee all the time now, and my nips are very itchy.
But honestly not too bad, still way better than the first-tri.
When's your next appointment?
Oct. 15th.
GTKY: What is yours and your SO's song? (If you don't have one, what song makes you think of your SO?)
I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz, ooooor "At Last" by Etta James. That was our 'first dance' song.
Not much done this week.
Back pain and heartburn continue to plague me but it's not any worse so I guess that's good. MFM told me to wear stretchy pants and good supportive shoes. I've taken that as wear yoga pants and leggings to work. I'm rocking some yoga leggings and tennis shoes today and I am comfy. No shame over here.
Next appointment: wed MFM and Thursday OB.
First dance song was "Everything" by Michael Buble. However the song that always makes me think of DH is "You Male Lovin Fun" by Fleetwood Mac.
What are you doing this week to prepare for LO's arrival? Nursery is finished now.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions: still puking once first thing every morning. Bleh.
When's your next appointment? Monday the 3rd
GTKY: What is yours and your SO's song? (If you don't have one, what song makes you think of your SO?) Hero by Enrique Iglesias
