Were u/s dates what you expected?

For those of us who have already been to the doc were the dates on the ultrasound the same as your estimate? I'm always on a 28/29 day cycle and had myself at 7+5 today. This mornings ultrasound was closer to 7/ 7+2. She said she wasn't concerned at all. It was different than what I'm used to because it was done by the doc. My other pregnancies it was always a separate ultrasound done by the tech. So we go back for an ultrasound at 10 weeks which she called a viability ultrasound.

I went in and measured 3 days ahead but I know that I am not that far along because I temped and know exactly when I ovulated. With DD, she also measured ahead the entire pregnancy and they moved my due date up 3 days but she still came on her actual due date based off ovulation. U/S are pretty reliable but not really always exact (most of the time babies don't come on their set due date). I would try not to worry too much since it sounds like you don't actually know when you ovulated... even on a 28-29 day cycle, ovulation date can be different from woman to woman. GL!! I hope your follow up u/s goes well!

I only had one period after my last baby so I wasn't sure when I ovulated. Based on my period I should of been 8 weeks when I went in but ended up measuring 6+1! Kinda disappointing since I feel set back 2 weeks but at least I found out earlier than later

Typically as long as the dates are within a week I don't stress. Later u/s are notoriously bad for dating wrong so it's good that you had an early one. I remember with DS I knew exactly when I O'd but my u/s showed a few days behind that initially (by the end I was months ahead due to his and my extra fluid)

Mine was only off 1 day. We did Ivf, so it had to be close.

Measured behind by 2 days, have another scan in a week so will see if little bean has caught up

Close enough for me measuring 1 day behind, however I will be seeing a high risk specialist next week and they will be doing a more in depth u/s to get a better idea for the due date.

My 1st ultrasound I had no clue and it didn't show anything. I went back two weeks later hoping it would show 6 weeks and it showed 6w1d. For other pregnancies it's been off a few days here and there in either direction. Sometimes it showed behind which was nerve-wracking but it ended up ok.

with my daughter I measured 3 days behind at first and she was very healthy. By the end she measured a few weeks ahead.

I measured 2 days behind what expected but it changes so much I'm sticking with the original.

Mine was off by almost a week but there was a hearbeat so I figure I just ovulated at a different time. With my oldest I also got an early ultrasound and it was off by 4 days even though I knew the ovulation date very precisely. I just think these things are off sometimes.

Mine was off by 2 days. I'm getting another US Monday by a different practice so I'm curious as to how three measure up.

I had a surprise u/s yesterday just to cinfirm there was a baby there. I had told the midwife that based on my ovulation date, I should be 5w6d. Little bean measured exactly. It'll be interesting to see how it measure in 2 weeks though!

According to my calculations based on my ovulation and my cycle length I was pretty sure I was 7+3 on the day of my ultrasound and that's what baby measured!

Mine was quite a bit off. We thought I was 8 weeks 5 days but baby measured 6 weeks 1 day. I've only had one cycle since I stopped BF so they said the ultrasound was more accurate for dating. Baby looked good and we saw the heartbeat. But it does make me wonder a little bit how it could be so off...

@lrwardrop My friend was due Oct 5th she had the baby sept 16th 8 lbs 10 oz. She never got her period and only followed the US for dating. They are trying to tell her shes 3 weeks early but honestly how is that possible with an almost 9 lb baby. Imagine if the baby did stay in another 3 weeks! Either way I honestly don't put much faith in the US dating after her story.

Gosh... that is interesting....my DS was 8.4lbs and I had a hard enough time getting him out lol.

It's entirely possible that even if you have a regular cycle you just ovulated later.

If I hadn't known that I ovulated late I would've been concerned about my dates being off. I have a clockwork 24-25 day cycle. I was taking clomid and in the past would ovulate around CD 14-15. This cycle I didn't ovulate until CD 18 (or maybe 19?), anyway, I went in for my first ultrasound and should've been measuring 6+6 based on lmp, but was measuring 6+2. If I hadn't known that I ovulated late this would've had me panicked, but in reality little babes is measuring right on track!

Little squish measured two days behind what I thought. Next US is in a week and a half so will see if it changes.

Agree with @roper2617 Ovulation can vary a lot. I had a consistent 28 day cycle, but always ovulated on day 19 (days later than what they say is average).

At my appointment 3 days ago baby measured exactly what I had thought he would. I was thinking I was 7w1d based on LMP and he measured 7w1d.

At my appointment on Thursday, I was measuring a little behind but my doctor didn't give me any specific details. She did change my official due date back to May 4 based on last period.
