Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Monday 9/19

Re: WTO Monday 9/19

  • @berg I get super into reading and learning about things when I become interested.  And with my type A personality, I feel like since there is SO much about ttc I can't control, I want to understand, be aware, and positively influence the few things I can control.

@hartmich  I am a newbie, but so many creepy internet hugs to you <3

@lulu8109  I SWORE I wouldn't be obsessed when we started ttc #1, butttttt I was.  And I SWORE I wouldn't become re-obsessed this time... yet here I am!

Yep, I also SWORE I wouldn't be obsessed last time (or this time), and I (again) cannot seem to uphold that promise.

  • @lboalboh It looks like you may have O'd yesterday. If your temps stay high for the next two days FF will probably give you crosshairs there. It's not a very big temp shift, but the rule of thumb from TCOYF is higher than the 6 previous temps. Personally, I'd still try to HIO tonight to cover my bases, but I've also been at this 6 months and I'm getting a little intense about it lol!
  • @lboalboh It definitely could be, since today's temp is clearly above the previous six, but the last open circle can also make it look like more of a rise than it otherwise would.  CP looks good though, you had a peak reading (which may or may not be trustworthy, like I think you said), and fertile CM, so that's all good!  Keep watching to see if CM dries up, CP closes up, temps stay up etc. and you should know better in a few days!  (This is why we say to wait till you get CH to move over to TWW, and why it takes FF time to assign CH, because literally anything could happen to change its interpretation, i.e. another really low dip where temps stay low, and then a whole second surge of fertile CM etc.)  But really, try not to worry too much, just keep HIO and FX you see CH in a couple days!  You can also try putting in a couple higher temps for the next two days to see what it does, just for fun, but remember, that might not actually be what your temps turn out to do, in reality, so there's unfortunately no real way around waiting to see... ;)

@beachbunnyxo123   Ah, that makes more sense why you hesitate to trust it.  Still.  Make a note of those days now, while you remember, but don't delete them.  In time you'll get more experience with your body in regards to temping and what affects your temps more or less, but until then, just leave them in there and get on HIO, if possible!  Depending on what the temps do, i.e. if they continue downward, FF will figure it out and take them away if it's not legit, and I'm sure that's why it only gave you dotted ones in the first place, because there were no other signs to corroborate that.  TBH, I have never O'd as early as CD8, so while unlikely, it is still definitely possible, but even less likely given that you don't have any other fertile signs.  I have been known to O more than once on CD11 or 12, so I have started taking my OPKs on CD7, so I don't miss FW.  You're regular till you're not!  So it doesn't hurt to get at least one BD in there now for good measure, and who knows you may just be putting one in the bank, so to speak  I hear you that I'd be skeptical of O on CD8, but just try to put that knee-jerk thought of discarding temps out of your head, if you can!  Trust your gut, but at the same time, try to let FF figure it out before jumping the gun. ;)
  • @hartmich. I'm so so sorry. Hugs!

@BusinessWife. My Bff and I are trying too. Although she just got KU in July so I'm hoping mine happens soon!
  • @hartmich I am so sorry for your loss.

@lboalboh Have you had your husband tested for sleep apnea? My husband sores so loudly but found out it was because of sleep apnea. The c-pap makes such a huge difference in both of our sleep.

    Month/Cycle: 9/10

    CD: 12

WAYDTGKU:  OPKs, Folic Acid, Metformin, and doin' it.  I was thinking of trying some preseed but since I am hot and heavy into this cycle, I think I'll save it for the next.  I did start temping and charting this time around too (3 days ago, but hey, I'm finally remembering to do it and get questioned by my 3 year old on the daily).

R/R: I haven't been on here in like a week.  The leaving this job for a new job is catching up to me and I'm trying to get caught up a bit more at home.

CS/Q:  I didn't realize  how low my temps are in the AM.  Like 96.40?  Doesn't that seem awfully low or is that normal?

GTKY: Who is your celebrity doppelgänger?   I honestly have no idea.....

  • @SugarGirl1019  I know, they have had lots of talks about it.  I keep telling her that I think if she were actually KU she would probably be able to get her money back or get credit for future travel, because we literally know someone who that happened to, with a cruise to a Zika area.  But I guess now the thing is she doesn't want to be pregnant and either miss it or go anyway, and then there would be a waiting period after she returns too.  Seems like such a shame though...  Glad to see you back in WTO!
  • @MrsDorkCharming Nope. He talked to a doctor about it and based on his symptoms, she didn't think it was sleep apnea related. We might look into it again, though. We have tried everything, though. Nose strips, anti-snore pillows, and wedges (in addition to the occasional jab, nudge, and fit) to get him to stop snoring. I usually wake up around 2 due to the noise and then move over to the guest bedroom.
  • @mrlight My birthday is also Sunday! :)

@kyersten That kitty is so cute! If DH and I weren't deathly allergic, we would definitely get a cat.

@CrystalPDX That makes me feel better! I have a feeling they are going to only get heavier from here, so I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts lol.

Look at those CH! I would keep an eye on it just because I like you have longer cycles. FF did the same thing to me this month thinking I O'd a week earlier than I did, then it took them away and I think I O today... In my last chart i had what looked like a temp shift early on too and then BAM O came about a week later. Breaks my heart cause I get so excited! I hope you did O though, because it beats having to wait for a longggg cycle!

@BusinessWife - thank you for the OvaBoost recommendation!
@NYTino24  and @Saralee797 thank you guys, I'm including a screenshot below.

I think today is honestly my O day. It was last month (sadly! CD 24!) However, we BD 5, 4 and 2 days prior to O (if it is today) so hopefully we at least have a shot. Now DH is gone so I'm REALLLLLLY hoping its today!

Does anyone else notice CM/Cervical Position mimics O and then your temps don't match up? If I rise tomorrow it's like I had two convincing CM/CP points one week apart.

  • @leilac I’m sure you could try temping for a month and see if you get an obvious shift regardless of how much sleep you get. I’m also sure that if you’re paying attention to other signs you’ll manage to get KU. Sometimes it seems like I get so wrapped up in my chart I forget that it’s BD’ing that makes a baby, not having a perfect chart.

    @kyersten OMGGGGG!!! He’s so sweet!!

@rainbowturtles That’s so disappointing. Is there any way you could go to where he is over the weekend? If not, I’d book myself a massage or some other pampering to take my mind off it.

  • @GingerJams Hmm I am not seeing today line up with other signs. Have you turned a + OKP ever or had EWCM? Just curious. The first few cycles off BC were really weird for me. I know it is not what you want to hear but you'll just have to wait a couple days and see what happens. FX for you!

  • @swimsister that's thoughtful, thank you, I might have to do that. I hinted at a road trip but he just keeps saying "there will be other months". Besides, I think it's a 6hr drive each way and I have pain issues and hate driving but was honestly still thinking about it :/ He says he MIGHT be home late next Wednesday which is likely my O day. But ya, not much I can do and who knows what my cycle will do also. And just since I'm rambling I'll also say that I thought it would have been neat to possibly get a BFP on Canadian Thanksgiving (tho obviously I'd take a BFP any day obviously!) Any missed cycle just feels like a bummer! NTM he'll have only been home for three nights and then gone again but trying to just be grateful that we've at least started trying again since our loss and that he has work, which is always a good thing :)
  • @Saralee797
I have not yet had a positive OPK. I also am getting more CM later today (since I marked chart earlier) that I think is lining up with last month. Last month I got EWCM after O and had creamy but copious CM leading up to it.

I keep wanting to go back and time and tell the me from two years ago NOT to get the non hormonal Paraguard and just keep using condoms. I feel like anything you do to your body you risk the natural biology that happens within and I kind of feel like I am facing the consequences for it.

  • @gingerjams I know what you mean. I think a lot of has have played the what if game but you just have to try and stay positive. Not everyone will turn an OPK or some women have short surges so they have to test multiple times per day to catch it. Normally you see fertile type CM (like EWCM) before and on the day of O. TCOYF is a great resource if you haven't read it already. A real eye opener for me. I downloaded it on my iPad so I have it to reference. Hope your temps show O in the next few days!!
  • @kyersten. Your kitten is adorable!

@linzrunz. That's how hubby & I are too. But I'm a teacher so my lunch break is
  • I didn't have time to post today but just wanted to say that @hartmich- I am truly sorry to see you back here. Don't apologize for being a Debbie downer. TBH, I'm 10x more comfortable reading the debbie downer posts because they're real. I hope you're able to take some time for yourself. <3
  • Ok I'm back to read these all!

@lulu1180 welcome to the club! Every month I add a little extra effort to TTC. This month it's OPK's... last month it was temping... for me, the longer I go, the more I think "I could be doing a little more to help this move along!" Doesn't mean your obsessed... just motivated ;)

@hartmich sorry for your loss :(

@claireCF I hope switching to Femara works for you!

@mommytoM13 have fun in Vegas! I've always wanted to go! and @daisy621 have fun on vacation!

@lboalboh no advice on helping with temping to track O... but my DH has been the worst snorer ever lately... it makes me literally mad in the morning! I feel your pain! Could you use the cheapie OPK's too? Would that help? I know that it's not a perfect indicator to O, but maybe it would shed more light than a digital one?

@mrlight I hope IUI works well for you!

@kyersten awww very cute kitty! It's face is so cute and fluffy!

@avidvertigo I get some temps like that! It's a little low... but I guess it's not terribly uncommon?

@AvidVertigo Here are a ton of temps in the 96 range to show it's not as uncommon as you'd think! I temp at 5 am because of when DH goes to work and it does rise if I temp at 6 when I wake for work. (I do have a ton of symptoms of hypothyroidism as @BertieMeetdGertie said, and 98.6 is pretty close to a fever for me)

@lboalboh My ex BF was a back sleeper and snored every night. It was the worst! I had to touch under his chin to get him to close his mouth or pray he'd roll over. I was so happy DH doesn't snore! PS there is a surgery they can do where they implant strips in the roof of the mouth. My friend is trying to get her FI to get it done.
@GingerJams You had two pretty good temp spikes, but it's hard to tell without EWCM or positive OPKs. Did you not take an OPK on the days that are blank? Was anything going on to cause higher temps? I didn't get much EWCM a lot of months after going off BCP. If your temps were staying higher, it would be easier to say.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
