1. Introduce yourself (if you're new):
Not new, but since we have some new posters... We have a 4 year old DD, lost our second daughter last fall at 31 weeks, now expecting girl #3.
2. How far along are you? EDD?
33w4d, October 27
3. Rants/Raves/Randoms:
Sleeping is getting really uncomfortable. Even with the snoogle pillow I toss and turn constantly. I'm also over GD. I want to eat all the pumpkin things!
4. Next milestone you are looking forward to: Meeting this little one!
5. Questions:
6. GTKY: What is your favorite movie? Pitch Perfect or Remember the Titans
2. 9 wks today; April 17. 3. Rave- I tried my Doppler yesterday and found the hb. This eases my mind tons. Rant- my sweet 6 yo asked me this morning if I'm growing a baby since my tummy is growing (I show early in general and with this being my 5th pg in 7 years it's becoming hard to hide already). I promised myself I wouldn't lie when she asked. We had a sweet moment where I explained just like seeds in our garden, sometimes even though we water them and do everything right they don't grow. So I'm trying to grow a baby, but I don't know yet if he/she will grow so let's not tell people yet. After school she told me she was so excited she told her teachers and 5 friends. Umm, ok. Lol. I'm not really comfortable with anyone but a few super close people knowing yet, but it's too late. 4. Second tri. 5. Would you guys go on a hayride? My instinct tells me no. We are invited to a bday party with a hayride this weekend. 6. Dirty Dancing.
@MWoodside I'm sorry your daughter told her teachers and classmates. It's hard to be upset with them when they're so excited.
Do you know what type of terrain the hayride will be on? Earlier in pregnancy I would have gone as long as it wasn't overly bumpy. Now any bumps make me pee or hurt.
3. Rants/Raves/Randoms: There's so much to rant about, I don't want to depress anyone!
4. Next milestone you are looking forward to: This Friday we have an appointment for a 12 week /NT scan and also go over the results from the NIPT. I've been holding my breath and sort of been living in denial/limbo with this pregnancy. I'm hoping this appointment will allow me to accept it all, as long as it goes well of course. PGAL brain though says this will just be the end, which will suck but at least I'll have an answer.
5. Questions: nope
6. GTKY: What is your favorite movie? There's just so many it's impossible to pick one; Joy Luck Club, The Village, Forest Gump, It's a Wonderful Life, Jaws, Avatar, Bridges of Madison County, I could go on forever.
Thanks for always doing this, @waterfall213! GD would be hard this time of year - you're close, though!
@MWoodside - I had not even thought about a hayride being dangerous for a fetus. Maybe if I was worried about going into premature labor? But I probably go over more bumps with potholes around here, honestly! But I'll have to google it! 1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Not new, but I'm pregnant for the 6th time with 2 living children. My most recent loss was at 21 weeks due to placental insufficiency in April.
2. How far along are you? EDD? 11w 1d, April 2nd
3. Rants/Raves/Randoms: I'm still struggling with grief a lot from my baby I lost in April In fact, I wish more I could just get her back than I wish this pregnancy would work out. Which is crazy because it's impossible. The grief is really surprising me and making my fears about this pregnancy even more amplified.
4. Next milestone you are looking forward to: A scan at 16 weeks which will reveal whether or not the same problems with the placenta are present this pregnancy. I think I'll probably live in fear until then. It's not THAT far away but ages away at the same time.
5. Questions: For those who've had later losses, when do you tell people? I have told very very few people so far. I'm just too scared for people to be happy. I live far from my family, but they are coming next week and I'm thinking I should tell them, if the NT scan goes well on Tuesday. What about other people? Is this resistance normal?
6. GTKY: What is your favorite movie? You've Got Mail is probably my all-time favorite. Or Mixed Nuts. So random!
A
2010: son born 9/1
2013: 2 miscarriages + d&cs, both at 10 weeks: April & July
2014: son #2 born 6/29
2016: Baby girl stillborn at 21w6d 4/29 and baby boy stillborn at 20w 3d 11/16
@amwangel I totally understand the wanting the baby you lost back. At the beginning of this pregnancy I was not thrilled to be pregnant. I kept thinking that it wasn't supposed to be this way. My feeling are so mixed even now. We're about 2 weeks away from our angel's birthday and I keep thinking I should be planning her party, not be 33 weeks pregnant. It's definitely a lot of conflicting emotions.
I told my sister before the pee stick was dry, but we're super close and tell each other everything. We told our parents at 6 weeks because we wanted their support. We told DD and everyone else at 12 weeks. I couldn't really hide the bump/bloat anymore. Plus everyone was so supportive after our loss, we would have wanted that support again.
2. How far along are you? EDD? 9 weeks today (which is my loss milestone, though mmc didn't know until 11 weeks). EDD 4/17.
3. Rants/Raves/Randoms: I feel like June was too recent to have lost a baby to now be pregnant again. I am SO grateful we got pregnant again quickly, but I almost wish we'd had a couple more months. I'm stuck between not wanting to have hope for this baby, having hope for this baby anyway, missing my angel baby so much, still grieving, and just trying to navigate all the conflicting emotions.
4. Next milestone you are looking forward to: being far enough along to buy a fetal Doppler and check at home whenever I want.
5. Questions: I'm super pale so my veins are starkly blue under my skin. I knew they'd get darker on the boobs but it looks like they're also getting darker on the hips and lower stomach. Is that a thing or am I imagining it?
6. GTKY: What is your favorite movie? Whenever I feel like just watching a super happy movie I watch either You've Got Mail or Tangled. Or Harry Potter movies.
I'm 1inthehopper and I'm in my mid thirties. Our DD is 4. Just found out yesterday I'm pregnant again after losing baby #2 to an ectopic in April. Two rounds of methotrexate failed and then I had to have surgery but thankfully dr was able to save my tube. Ectopic was attached to my ovary so considerable damage to ovary and tube. This month was our first month TTC and I was shocked to get a BFP yesterday considering the damage from the ectopic and the fact that it took 9 mo to conceive #2... Plus I'm over 35 but it's the new 29 right?!
My rant/rave is that I'm over the moon to be pregnant again but FREAKING out of course until we can find out if the little peanut implanted in my uterus or not. Dr ordered a series of betas and first one at 3 wks +4 was 18.6. Then I turned a digital test this morning. My DH is on a hunting trip out of state until Sunday night. Thankfully I was able to reach him even though his service is horrible in the mountains but at least he knows now- I was busting at the seams to tell him! So I'm home alone with DD who of course woke up with a stomach virus today and now I have it too...its just my luck when DH is gone. So I'm paranoid it's ectopic again and that I'll rupture while home alone with DD. Can't have anyone stay with us since we're sick but did reach out to a friend in town to be "on call" in case I start having ectopic symptoms. Another beta tomorrow morning.
Question: anyone else here after an ectopic?
I look forward to hopefully getting to stick around and getting to know all of you! Happy Friday!
Edited because why does mobile cut out half my post?!
@1inthehopper Welcome and congrats! I'm sorry for your loss. My sister's first pregnancy was ectopic, she lost a tube and ovary. She conceived again right away and my nephew is now 3. Wishing you all the best!
2nd beta today was 81.3 at 3w6d- more than x4 from 48 hours ago when it was only at 18.6! Seems so low still but nurse said more than doubled so good so far. Another draw Monday. I know a lot of ectopics still more than double early on but this was an important first step. Makes me a tiny bit more at ease at least. How's everyone else doing this weekend??
@1inthehopper your betas are even better than mine were - my first (around 9dpo) was 19 and in 48 hours it nearly quadrupled to 74 - I'll be 24 weeks on Monday. I'm rooting for your bean! Grow baby grow!
@1inthehopper My doc was concerned about ectopic too because I had intense pain in the right side. My betas more than doubled after they did blood work for me. They ruled out ectopic after that but I was 4w6d. I've seen the little bean since and he or she is doing great! Rooting for you!
Thanks @ceclarlinetlo and @HGRich! Ill be on edge until I see that first ultrasound but this is a great first step. Thanks for sharing your stories and your encouraging words- helps a lot!
Edited because fat fingers on phone hit reply too soon
So I woke up this morning with what I think is the stomach virus DD had 2 days ago. Long 3 hrs in ER after couldn't keep anything down. All is well they think- couldn't see anything on ultrasound since only 4 weeks. But no bleeding so that's good. Just want the next week to pass quickly and see little nugget in my uterus. Boo for stomach viruses
