Had my 28 week appointment today. GD test came back normal, they were looking for less than 140 and mine was 126. I was quite relieved. BP still normal at 120/70 (which is a bit elevated for me, but not concerning for the doc). He did however mention that the weight gain needs to slow down a bit. I've gained 30 pounds so far this pregnancy. TBH, I've expected this comment, but it still sucks. I obviously don't want to do anything that will jeopardize my health or baby girl's health, but damn! I'm really damn tired at the end of the work day and When I want a treat, I want a treat
Uneventful appointment today. I did the glucose screening last week (and failed), and they did a blood test for iron (it's low). So I was bummed after those results, but I passed the 3 hour GTT and started taking iron supplements, I'm measuring on track and the heartbeat was nice and strong, so I feel much better about things now. I'm switching to a midwife practice for my next appointment, which I'm excited about, and I need to make sure I get my TDAP since no one's mentioned it at all at my current office (I'm 28 weeks today).
I've gained what feels like a lot of weight (23 pounds, I think) - my OB commented on it last time but didn't mention it today. I'm not sure where it's all going, I don't have a lot of bloating or swelling, and my butt and boobs feel a bit bigger but not that much bigger. Dunno. I'm not too worried about it, but it's a mental adjustment to see certain numbers on the scale, for sure.
@DiFazette I'm also not crazy about drinking that much OJ with the iron supplement (I felt my stomach tighten in fear when they mentioned it). Do you think there are any other options?
@mysteryship I've gained about the same amount of weight as you, and yeah, I'm bigger in those areas too, but that number just seems so big compared to how I look/feel. I started off pretty slender though (5'6", 114 lbs), so I knew I'd have to put on more pounds than some. Definitely weird to see the number on the scale increase so much! But I figure that if the doctor doesn't comment on it, and I feel pretty comfortable about how I look and feel (I don't really feel that huge...yet) then it's probably fine. It's probably mostly water/extra blood, that's why it doesn't seem so obvious.
I had my 28 week appointment this morning. Pretty much the same old, same old. I had my glucose test and got a flu shot - TDAP at my next appointment. I also got a prescription for an electric breast pump! The OB said I'd have one last ultrasound at 32 weeks for a growth scan. They haven't been doing fundal height measurements for me since I started out overweight, so she wants to check on the baby.
I also scheduled my next 3 appointments. I'm all booked up until I start weekly appointments! Pretty crazy to think about.
I had a pretty uneventful appointment yesterday afternoon. I'm planning to get by script for my breast pump at my next appointment. And I've got all my appointments scheduled up until the day past my due date!
@karmba: I'm surprised she isn't doing fundal height measurements. I also started pretty overweight so we did a measurement at 24 weeks and use that as a baseline Now, she expects me to always be 3cm ahead, not because baby is big, but because I started with extra tummy. I was exactly 3cm over this time too, so I'm measuring right on track :-)
Well I just got done with my app. They pulled out one of the 2 cerclage stitches as I was funneled well past it. Moved up my # of contrax per hour to worry about - from 6-8 ph to 3-5ph, got the DTaP, and now have app every Mon&Thurs from here out.

@jptrumptone from what I've read, it's not a great measurement if you have a high BMI - which I really, really do. The baby measured exactly on schedule for the anatomy scan so after that I think they decided just to do a growth scan and not bother with fundal height measurements that may be inaccurate and on the high side.
I had an appointment with a cardiologist this morning. They did an ekg and the results didn't come back completely normal. They they whatever is going on is just pregnancy related and nothing serious but I have an appointment for an echo and to be fitted with a holster monitor this afternoon. Hopefully everything will turn out fine.
Had my appointment yesterday and cried while there. The ma I swear is weighing me wrong. I've had her the last two times and have had the biggest gains. There's zero way I've gained 11 pounds in two months. None. She doesn't wait for the scale to stop or adjusts it. It's like she guesses. I was so pissed and I had to wait annhour and anhalf to see the doctor. Super fun with a two year old.
Had my appointment today. Tomorrow is my glucose test and my OB is going to have them do extra testing besides the diabetes to make sure my liver and thyroid are functioning properly. She's worried the nausea could be a sign of a bigger problem. Other than that I just had my Tdap and rhogam shots. Super fun.
@Gizmo1231 good luck at your appt tomorrow - let us know how you make out.
@Kate08Young I'm sorry. Remind me - are you doing progesterone or does that stop being effective when cervix is short enough? I think of you often and hope you can hang in there for a few more weeks!
@kbduke same experience here - I had a 24 hour holter and echocardiogram. All was clear with me! Better to know and treat just in case though.
@ashleaf2018 FX there's no underlying issue. Those shots at the same time are no fun
@DiFazette I am doing tab suppositories. My new OB said to keep it up, as they can't hurt, but there isn't much science behind it helping this late and with it this bad. He also is considering taking me off my modified bedrest as there isn't much science behind it.

I go in the morning for my rhogam shot.
I hadn't gained anything this pregnancy until the last month-and-a-half, when I gained almost 9 pounds :-( and I don't really understand how a person can gain that much that quickly. That's more than 5000 extra calories a week, or 700 calories per day. I don't remember eating that much! I wonder if it's mostly swelling? The baby can't be growing that fast...
@Kate08Young so far, so good - thanks! It's actually quite good at home and in the 135/80 range at the doc, which is perfectly fine. I mean, it's elevated but not dangerous by any means. My goal is to stay under 150/100 (that's based on my history and my 'normal') and I haven't even been close. Here's to hoping it stays good, but know how quickly that can change.
ETA - everything I've read in the past few years have debunked bedrest as a solution for nearly all pregnancy concerns.

Yeah when he said that I could let off a bit on how easy I've been taking it, I became extremely excited. Yet today I over did it. Now I'm paying for thinking I could drag a full laundry basket around.
I'm glad you are getting consistently good reading. That way as soon as something is up, you and your doc know and can work to correct it.

Just a warning, some of us are in for big weight gains third trimester. From my previous pregs, I know I'll be one. I've already gained about 25 lbs. People keep telling me I look great and I don't look like I've gained that much, but it sure feels like it! My body is protesting...
With the morning sickness my weight fluctuates a lot, today I came in right at 2.5 pounds gained from my pre pregnancy weight. My OB said my belly is measuring within range, not sure what it is exactly but that was refreshing to hear since I've been worried about not gaining enough.

Same here I am up only 3 pounds so far. But the Dr didn't seem concerned. I usually put on the pounds in the 3rd trimester.

Even if you don't put in the pounds in 3rd tri, it isn't something to worry about as long as you eat properly. I was ~10 lbs above my starting weight when admitted and delivering L. No one said anything besides 'do you take your prenatal? Eat when hungry?'

Haven't had heard the results of my glucose test yet. I wish I had asked if they will let me know either way, I just asked how long it took and they said 1-3 days. So I should hear today, or no news is good news I'll assume.
Thanks @DiFazette Today went well- cervix is over 4cm which is wonderful and my placenta has moved up. They are going to do a repeat ultrasound on 10/11 to make sure my placenta isn't weirdly attached to my previous c-section scar. We are super happy with the appointment today Next appointment is 30 weeks on 9/30. Hello 3rd trimester! Hope everyone else gets great news as well!

My BP is lowering, so that's a relief! Still have appointments every week, and my GTT is in 2 weeks. No change in meds right now.
I got more information about how my induction will go, and I feel more at ease.
Also the weight of my tummy strained my abs, so restricted movement, rest, and a support belt or garment until birth.
Saturday I go for my 3hr glucose test. I'm so afraid I won't pass.
I go in the morning for my rhogam shot.
