Stupid Question Sunday

Re: Stupid Question Sunday

  • Embarrassingly stupid question here. I've always had boobs on the smaller side. I currently wear a size B. During my previous pregnancy, my boobs didn't get much bigger, just fuller (if that makes sense), so I never bought new bras. This pregnancy, my boobs have already become full (7 weeks) and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to need new bras this time. So here's my embarrassing question that I feel like any woman should know, but I don't: How do I know what size to buy? What size fits? How long should I try to just stay in my current bras?

  • Best way is to go to VS and get measured. Also I wouldn't spend a fortune since you don't know if they will go back down/stay the same etc. I'd wear the ones I have until it's uncomfortable. Then get some of the nursing/pregnancy sports bar type ones. Those are good for going up and down in sizes

  • @KirstinH88 I hate bra shopping! I would start with getting a bra extender (basically gives you 3 more hooks), or looking at sports bras. I've also heard that Target has some nice, cheap bras.
I'm totally trying to stay on my current bras as long as possible and when I finally decide to switch it'll be to something with flexibility in the sizing, like a sports bra. I love sports bras from Victoria's Secret, they have actual cups in them and avoid making it look like you have a uniboob.
  • @KirstinH88 I didn't gain a ton of weight with my first pregnancy, so I just got a couple bras that had the same band size and went up a cup size or 2.

  • @twistsandturnsto2 I didn't gain much weight my first pregnancy either (17 lbs). Maybe that's the reason for my lack of growth in the boobs... Hmm...

  • @KirstinH88 With my first pregnancy, I bought some kind of stretchy type bras, almost like sports bras but less constricting. I think I'll be doing the same thing this time around as well.

I have a question of my own, mom's of twins (or more), is it normal to feel way further along than you are? I'm 8 weeks and feel like I did when I was closer to 30 with my son!
  • I had an A/B cup with some asymmetry with my first two kiddos -absolutely ZERO gain in the boob area, but an immediate loss of breast tissue and firmness when my milk dried up (I didn't breastfeed, just wrapped them up)...

Got implants in 2012 4 years after my second child... and NOW, OF COURSE, with my third child, after implants, I am gaining fullness and breast tissue on top of the implants... 36G is quickly becoming uncomfortable...................
