Re: Broken wisdom tooth!!!!

  • I think that the only one that could give you the answers you want is a dentist. Sorry you're having pain!

  • I have cold sensitivity in one of my molars & my dentist said that if it gets more painful there are options like having it worked on without anesthetics (which sounds worse than it is) or having some local anesthetic done after dentist consists with my OB.  Hopefully you have options, too! Call your dentist!
  • Definitely don't bust your own tooth out. Go to the dentist and let them know you're pregnant. My mom had to get wisdom teeth removed when she was pregnant with me. I think all they were able to do was numb the area, they couldn't put her to sleep or anything, but she got through it and I was fine as well.

  • Consult with your dentist and OB. I had to get a wisdom tooth out a few weeks ok. I was able to have local anesthesia via approval from my dr. I just had to be in second tri. Definitely consult with your Drs though!

  • You are far enough along that it isn't too big of a deal. My boss won't work on anyone in their first trimester, but second is fine. The later the better. They won't be able to put you under, but as long as you have your OB send a medical release to your dentist/oral surgeon they will be able to do it with local anesthetic. Since the tooth has already erupted you shouldn't feel any pain, just pressure.
  • I had my wisdom teeth out with only local anesthetic and while it wasn't exactly pleasant I was fine. I couldn't feel anything but pressure as he pulled the tooth out. It was a lot cheaper too!

  • Call your dentist asap, I had a tooth break a few weeks ago and had to have my tooth extracted I was almost 14 weeks at the time of extraction. My dentist was actually going to do the extraction but referred me to a oral surgeon when she found out I was pregnant. I needed a consent form from my doctor that stated what anesthesia they could give me which was a local and what type of medication I could take, which was Tylenol 3 and amoxcicillean.
