@adirat seriously? Why are men so closed off to information??? H will also not move his phone because he thinks it's crazy hippie medicine or something like that. I also try to explain the effects of alcohol in general (calories etc) but habits just don't change. He is more than willing to have me go through any testing or procedures but doesn't seem to care about changes on his end. Ugh!!!!
Thanks ladies. We had an argument about it. I am pretty pissed because so far he has been supportive and open -- he takes CoQ10 and vitamin D pills I give him, has helped me stop eating soy, and has been very game about hearing about EWCM. But I guess him having to DO something is a bridge too far. Ugh.
All that said -- don't let his stupidity derail this helpful thread!

It's weird because even IF you actually aren't getting pregnant because of an LP problem then wouldn't you be more motivated to give yourself the best chance in all other factors? Like you don't need an LP problem AND shitty sperm quality/quantity.
Guys, I do not understand what it would be like if DH were not involved. He is so much more interested in a baby, it is insane. I just told him about preseed and he's like, ARE YOU ORDERING IT YET? He asks what my temperature has done every day. He tried to get us to stop drinking entirely (nixed that fairly quickly - if I'm not pregnant yet, let me enjoy my GD wine, ok?). He was gung ho about OPKs. Every day he's like, "what's your body doing?" and I'm like I DO NOT KNOW PLS SHHH.
This might be TMI, but I've been drinking some wine, so I figure you'll all roll with me on this. Basically, we haven't been using preseed, and I know saliva can be bad for sperm, so I've been reading... let's call them romance novels... to "get it up." It would take FOREVER otherwise - I cannot get turned on simply by foreplay when I'm stressed at work/pressure is on. DH is easy - ready to roll at a moment's notice, over in less than 5 minutes because he knows I want to sleep. I should give him more gold stars.
(Also, any recos on romance novels because I'm seriously running out of material. I find porn distracting because I feel like 99% of the girls look like their soul is dying...?)
Sorry I hijacked this. I don't have any fun facts to share that haven't been shared other than OMG I knew that not everyone gets pregnant the first time, but emotionally I felt like surely they wouldn't have lied to me all these years about how vital it was to be extra extra careful so as to avoid pregnancy?? Sigh.
@doxiemoxie212 We have the same type of husband. He does all this research too and gives suggestions on things like vitamins. I can't imagine not having him so involved.
@luckywife10 We QUICKLY discovered that less is more with PreSeed on our last go-round
no joke, that stuff gets out of control to the point of being uncomfortable (read: who wants to BD with a Slip-n-Slide?!)
Like salt or spice on your food, you can always add more but cannot take it back once you've gone overboard
On the positive side: it helped things happen quickly because WET which is awesome when BDin ED or EOD forever (at least it feels like it...)
@doxiemoxie212 I'm impressed you are still chasing an orgasms while TTC. I've basically given up on that during the FW. This is werkkk. Lol help a girl out and give me those book recommendations!
@Saralee797 I'm not! I'm chasing lubrication! I'm getting preseed if we didn't get preg this cycle. So much work.
But so far my fav has been "The Hacker Series" (LOTS of sex, sort of a less problematic 50 Shades) and this book called "The Hating Game" which actually didn't have very much sex in it, but I ended up liking the characters (wasn't so successful for helping my own sex life).
Men who carry cell phones in their front pockets are less likely to get their partner pregnant.
Women who are Vitamin D deficient (and many are) are less likely to get pregnant.
It is not necessary or helpful to lay on your back following intercourse, especially not for longer than 3-4 minutes. That's how you get a UTI. Go pee.
Holy crap, really? I've had a deficiency for years. I don't take my vitamins regularly, and went almost the entire time we were TTC without taking them because prenatals have vitamin D and I figured that would be sufficient. Hot damn. Now I'm pissed. Like... if I'd have kept taking them, would we be in a different position now?
Re: Fun Fertility Fact Friday
I had no idea the female body had so much going on that really worked against sperm. Just. Woah.

Also so this is funny
