TTC After a Loss

Temping / Charting After a Loss

I know I may be a little different because I miscarried twins (originally triplets), so my hormones levels may have been higher than with a singleton, but I am trying to make sense of my temps. After my miscarriage, my temps stayed high (around where they were post ovulation and during pregnancy for a week or two, dipping only slightly in the past 2 weeks. Just two days ago, I am suddenly down to my pre-ovulatory temps. I am still getting positive HCGs, so I know I still have hormones in my system.

Did anyone else temp after a MC/MMC who found that their temps didn't just drop right away?

Anyone have any thoughts or input on this?

Re: Temping / Charting After a Loss

  • I'm so sorry for your losses @weareturtles. Between my first bad beta doubling and my D&C, I actually spot checked my temp quite a bit. My temps were always in the mid to high 98's. I actually had an appt to TFMR because of my baby's Triploidy diagnosis, but that morning before surgery the nurse took my temperature and it was in the low 97's- my usual pre-O temps. Turns out that the baby had passed and my progesterone had dropped. I didn't temp religiously right after my loss, but when I did temp I got 97s.

You may still have some progesterone in your system or your hormones may be doing a lot of weird things. I know how frustrating it is to wait for your body to recover post-MC. Fx things get on track soon.
