  • 2. I'm 7w5d. Edd April 20.

    3. My rant is symptoms. They were the first to go when I lost--nausea and tiredness and the bad taste in my mouth. As they vanished, that was the first indication something was wrong. Baby stopped growing 4-7 days after my first ultrasound so I'm freaking out because it's been five days since my first ultrasound this time and my nausea is coming and going and so is the bad taste. Even though it's so unlikely to happen again, and happen the same way, I'm still letting my imagination get the best of me. Ugh! Also: had a dream this week that I lost baby! WTF brain!?

    4. Milestone: my next ultrasound in eight days. They let me have another to check in at the point of my last loss to ease my mind. I'm so grateful. I'm living one day at a time until then.

    5. Questions: I know I'm going to get a fetal Doppler around 11 weeks or so to check on things. How many ultrasounds and Doppler uses are too many? Should I be concerned about harming LO?

    6. I wanted to be a veterinarian.

  • 2. How far along are you? EDD? 10w5d, 3/30/17

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms: I'm so tired and I feel like I'm being a horrible mom to my daughter.  I just struggle with the imagination type play with her, it's totally mind numbing to me. Plus it's too freaking hot to go outside and let her play in the yard, and hello Zika so we are inside most of the day. I keep telling myself it's only temporary and once I feel better and the weather cools down we'll go out more. Of course that hardly helps the guilt I feel.

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to: 9/16 we have an US appointment and will also go over the results from the dna testing. So we'll find out the gender and have a better idea of which path we are headed down. I feel like I'm in limbo until that appointment. If it all goes well, I might accept that I'm pregnant and a baby is happening.

    5. Questions:

    6. GTKY: What did you want to be when you were little? A veterinarian too :)
  • @waterfall213 I totally understand about the heat. I absolutely hate it. I hate even looking out my windows because it looks like it should be nice outside, but when I open the door to let my dog out the heat creeps in and it makes me instantly nauseous. I have all my curtains and blinds shut so I don't even have to look outside!
  • @hgrich I asked my OBGYN about a home Doppler and she said they are fine to use but to be aware that sometimes it's hard to find the heartbeat and could cause ya to get unnecessarily upset. I'm still on the fence about getting one myself.
  • Oh I forgot to say when I asked the OBGYN about the Doppler I asked if once a week was ok, that's what she said "yes that's fine " too.
  • @HGRich I think a home Doppler is fine. I used it about once a week from 12 weeks until I was feeling daily movement. I don't think ultrasounds are really a concern either, it's just sound waves. I've had 7 so far and will have 3 more.

  • Going back tomorrow for a follow up appt to complete the anatomy scan, wifey and I are both nervous.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @HGRich  My symptoms come and go a LOT this pregnancy - it's so scary but I try to tell myself it can be normal! (My last two pregnancies I was super sick all the time.) As far as dopplers & u/s - the FDA recommends limiting, but there aren't a ton of studies. I just saw one today that linked first trimester ultrasounds with autism - which is just what my anxiety needs! I already have had THREE by 10 weeks. Oy.

    2. How far along are you? EDD?
    10w 4d, due April 2nd

    3. Rants/Raves/Randoms:
I just found the heartbeat with my home doppler! WOO. I couldn't find it yesterday, so I was glad to find it right away today - beating away at 180. I'm starting to pretty anxious about this next stretch of time - because from 11 weeks till 19 weeks, I didn't know that my baby was having growth problems due to my placenta not functioning well. I'm so terrified it will happen again. SO terrified. I'm really really hoping my midwives will agree to giving me more ultrasounds during that period to ease my mind. The MFM recommended growth scans AFTER 22 weeks - but since my baby died at 22 weeks, I'm just so nervous.

    4. Next milestone you are looking forward to:
    An ultrasound in 12 days.
