  • @slartybartfast once I hit 25 weeks I did the same. Close enough.

  • I've been describing myself as 6 months pregnant already (only 25 weeks). Hey, close enough and I look it and feel it

  • I know it is probably an insensitive thing to say to people who are *actually* on bedrest, but with the amount of time I spend laying down with my laptop and/or phone applying to jobs, I feel like I might as well be medically confined here. I know I COULD get out and do things but I am just finding it hard to get motivated. I suck.

  • @ea301 I've been really struggling with lack of motivation, too. I keep telling myself this will pass.... It will, right?

I'm looking at a bedrest situation possibly starting in 2 weeks and I had some bedrest at the end of my last pregnancy. To me the hardest part wasn't the laying around...the hardest part is mental and emotional. Especially feeling torn about taking care of current family while keeping healthy enough to keep the baby inside. That's what's the biggest challenge for me...it's scary too thinking if I get up to pee one more time something bad could happen.

But I understand where you are coming from. There are days I wish I could lay in bed all day right now!

  • My kids have eaten BeaverTails and DQ today and I fully plan on ordering pizza tonight.  They've also had veggies and other stuff, but yeah, it's one of those days.
  • I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is lacking motivation! I always chocked it up to pregnancy brain.  Please tell me it passes.
  • @sourlemon right! That is why I feel so useless, I think. I have no job, no family to take care of (besides DH), nothing holding me back from getting stuff done around the house... and yet I can't seem to get anything productive done, even though there is no reason not to. I think a lot of it is mental with me too... just feeling very cruddy lately. I'm sure it'll pass :)

I don't take offense to it. I personally can lay around all day just as long as I have the option to go and do. The not being allowed to is what kills me.

  • @ea301 i went through a slump in mood and motivation around the end of second tri last time and the same thing is happening this time. Luckily for me, my mood and motivation did pick up around 32 weeks last time.

  • I worked all day getting our house clean yesterday, even put the laundry mountain away! But today.... I've fed the children. That's it. I'm feeling really unmotivated and grumpy about nothing.

  • @sourlemon thank you for saying that... I am feeling somewhat useless at the moment. Then I start feeling even worse because I have no excuse. It's a vicious cycle! I think I need to re-read some pregnancy affirmations!

Also, everything is getting on my nerves today. I have literally resisted getting into/starting petty arguments all day on the board and on this facebook blog post I read today that had literally the worst reasoning ever. Which means basically, I should go run my washing machine, put down my computer, and get a life.  :D

  • I'm starting to feel like some sort of pregnancy freak of nature. I'm almost 26 weeks, and just switched to maternity jeans....I was hardly sick..and I mean hardly sick in the sense that I would even go so far as to say I was never sick because it happened only a few times. I unintentionally made a pregnant friend of mine feel bad, because at 6 weeks behind me she's gained more with her singleton than my twins (I didn't know! That wasn't my intention!). I honestly thought I would be like ginormous, twins and all that, but I'm really not that big yet. I love all you ladies, and I can relate on a lot of levels with you guys...but I'm starting to feel like a freak of nature over here! lol. I thought I was supposed to be all miserable and stuff? I mean, I'm starting to get a little uncomfortable...but from friend's past pregnancies, and different things I've seen around the board...what's wrong with me?!

I don't really know if that's a confession...but I figured it'd be safe since it's something you guys could give me a lot of shit for "complaining" about lol.

  • @sourlemon haha yes, I probably needed that said to me ;) My doctor even said that to me at one point. I think my MIL thinks I'm lying or something because every time she asks me how I'm doing and I say great, she kind of looks annoyed lol.

  • @brittnic86 that was me my 1st preg. I lost 50lbs before 24w, and ate what ever I wanted. I never threw up or felt anything but tired. I walked into L&D at 39w4d in my regular pre-preg jeans, and walked out after a CS in the same jeans. It happens, and to quote those saying we dislike - just you wait. I ended up with severe pre-e and a CS, but I have a wonderful, slightly chubby, adorable little boy. He even STTN at birth, but now at 1 he is clingy and having night terrors. Things can change, but you are good.

  • @Kate08Young I guess every pregnancy truly is different! I have 3 pregnant friends, and one friend who just delivered....all of us have/had very different experiences! I blame the media. TV portrays pregnancy in just one way lol.

  • @slartybartfast - I'm 27 weeks and have started telling people I'm in my 7th month.
Guilty, and I'm only 26 weeks today.
  • I've been describing myself as 6 months pregnant already (only 25 weeks). Hey, close enough and I look it and feel it

@slartybartfast Ohhh me too. Also, when I'm getting close to the next week and someone asks how far along I am I just say "26 weeks" instead of "25 weeks 5 days (11 hours, 28 minutes etc)"

However, I have been known to round up. The night I met DH I told him I was 23.. but had three more months of actually being 22. I wanted to somehow make our age gap appear less. Oh, and, alcohol :)

  • @brittnic this pregnancy has been completely opposite of my first. So much so that I was convinced it was a boy (1st was a girl)....but nope, it's a girl too. Strange how much different every one is.

  • Im going off the chart I saved on my phone a couple months ago. 6 months is totally justifiable based on this!
  • I just do basic math because I can find a dozen different ways to calculate. 4x6=24, etc. I don't EVEN care if that's completely accurate or not, I can remember math.

  • @slartybartfast also guilty but I've been saying 6 months since I was 25 weeks.

@brittnic86 I have only put on 12 pounds or so this pregnancy (maybe more now, I don't own a scale so I'm going off my last doc visit 2 weeks ago). Granted I was sick as a dog for 8 weeks the first trimester, I feel great and I look great. Doc says I look tiny for where I'm at, but I'm measuring right on track. I'm just gonna take it and run with it for as long as I can.

Ok here's my FFSuC: I really don't want Squish to be born on my birthday. My due date is the day after my birthday and everyone is telling me it would be nice to share a birthday. No, not so much. That's my day. And that makes me sound so selfish...

  • @phoenix870509 I share a birthday with my mom and I wouldn't have it any other way! If we're in the same hemisphere (which isn't often anymore) we go out for Indian food and get all the stuff we "shouldn't get" for dessert. Sometimes it's with my family. Sometimes it's just the two of us. Having said that, I don't know how she feels about sharing a birthday with her daughter. :)

  • @phoenix870509 My DD's birthday is the day after mine.  I didn't want her to be born on my birthday, only because I wanted her to have her own special day.  I think it will be really fun when she's older to have birthdays so close together.  This little guy is due four days after my birthday and I'm hoping he'll be born in November so he has his own month!  SO is also in December, so it gets busy.  There's nothing wrong with wanting Squish born on a different day!
  • My EDD is Dec. 8 and my scheduled C is on Dec. 1. FI's parents are thoroughly convinced "we'll be in the hospital on Thanksgiving." *eye roll* I want Rhett to have his own birthday and to stay put as long as possible! We're already taking him out early, I'd like for him to stay put til then. Nothing wrong with wanting your own day and wanting squish to have their own day! :)
  • Thanks ladies. I really hate when I seem selfish, but birthdays are important. My parents always did what they could to make mine special since it was so close to the holidays. And I want Squish's birthday to be about them. Hard when December around here is full of birthdays and Squish might very well share a birthday with our niece or nephew, or even one of our friends.

  • @phoenix870509 A is due 4 days after my birthday, but he may come earlier, I don't know. A lot of people have mentioned to me that I should "try" to have him on my birthday, and I just don't see the appeal. I want my own birthday, and I don't think that is selfish. Your birthday only comes once a year...I think everyone deserves a special birthday!
  • @phoenix870509 That is not selfish at all. Everyone needs their own day. If you happen to end up sharing, you could always do a half birthday for Squish. That way everyone has a day, and Squish could have the first summer party/schools out.

  • Sorry for the double post, but mobile spacing is hard. Also, I have an abundance of reasons that I want E to come around Nov. 1, one of which I think it would be awesome to get to make Halloween a party every year.

  • @Kate08Young A Halloween baby would seriously be so badass. Not that I can exactly "time" for a Halloween baby, but that would be so awesome...I love Halloween.
  • @dmontgo it is one thing that is helping against my mom guilt. I need E to get here before 38w for reasons, but if she could get here at 36 we could always have killer Halloween sleep overs and parties and that is helping me be ok needing her here early.
