@jhems776 I agree. It's super quiet here lately. Hoping most are just having babies and we will hear more soon!
I'm a FTM so you can take or leave my advice as I don't know what baby will prefer. But I opted to get the Avent Natural Glass bottles. I like the idea of glass better than plastic. I got a 3 pack of 4oz size with the newborn flow nipples and got 6 of the larger 8oz bottles and got additional nipples for those ones with different flow options. I also got silicone sleeves to put on the bottles to hopefully prevent any breakage. So unfortunately they're untested, but I received them and like them from what I can tell. Hoping baby does too! Again, sorry, not the best advice but you can also read reviews on Amazon? That helped with my decision on several things we got.
@jhems776 With my first I started with the bottles that came with my breast pump, but she had reflux so I kept trying different bottles until we ended up with Dr. Browns. I figure each baby is different. I ended up getting 3 different brands of the small 2 or 3 packs to try with this little one. We'll see what she prefers and then order more as needed.
Spilled coffee on my white shirt and now have a nice brown stain. Now waiting for Ross to open to get a new shirt because I'm not going another 9 hours at work like this.
@jhems776 I'll chime in for both dr brown's (it's all we ever tried, but she did great with them) and also for not stocking up before you know baby will go for whatever brand you try first.
@jhems776 we used Dr. Brown's with DS, but my LC recommended the Medela Calma this time. She said it has been helping with nipple confusion, and so we got a set for this little man.
@jhems776 It's true that you just don't know what baby will like (or even if any will work). My first wouldn't ever take a bottle, but my last one didn't fight it at all. I used the avent ones (I think I got a free one or two from registering, and I started with that and then bought a couple more. I'd just get a few to start, and see how it goes.
Thanks @RG1 I am going to think on it a bit since I don't really want FB. But I do hate missing out on everything! Is there a way I can sign up that no one will know I am on there (i.e. Family and friends etc) Thanks for the invite.
@rock1cherry You can definitely get an account and make yourself unsearchable so no one would ever know you have an account! Then you just join the group and you don't have to add friends from your real life
Cool - I didn't know if it would alert people if I sign up with my email address. Or if I would need to sign up with another fake address or something so it wouldn't show up. Thanks @RG1

Just be sure to carefully read all the options and privacy stuff. There's so many options and it can get confusing but you can definitely "hide" on it
@jhems776 Same boat here. We bought a variety of bottles ranging in size. We got a set Avent, Tommy Tippee, Nuk and Dr. Brown's, all with low flow or step 1 nipples. Altogether I think we have about 10 or 15, and will probably end up buying more down the road when DH is the one staying home with baby girl since he'll be the one giving her bottles. We bought a variety of different kinds because we don't know if she's going to prefer one over another. If we figure out she's picky, we'll just buy more of the kind she likes.
Also I agree it's slowed down a lot on here. Definitely noticing more randoms posting (maybe we scared them off this whole time >.<). The FB group is much more active, it's just easier to keep up with, and access when you're mobile. And I love that it's all our regulars who we've gotten to know so well. I hope you can join soon @rock1cherry!! It's definitely possible to make an anonymous account.
Oh gosh. The FB group started...I was wondering why the board is slow. Sorry that I waited so long to join in! Hopefully in time my name will be more noticed and I can join in there. We did the FB group too with my other two littles and it's been the best thing - those gals are lovely and many times - saved my sanity
@izzetoot and @Sporty1216 too! Not to put you on blast...we just miss you ladies! And I just can't keep up on here anymore!!
Though I was randomly scrolling through randoms during a MOTN feed last night and noticed @RG1 wondered if my OB's baby sex slip up was tell-tale or not... It wasn't! My OB used the pronoun "she" and we had a boy!
Seriously been hard to "keep up" even as a lurker LOL I have some randoms to share:
Can't stand that lady w/the cooking show, barefoot contessa. Annoying AF. I was in waiting for LO to be called back to check her bilirubin level and that show was on, of course I could of ignored it but I just sat there watching it, being irrationally annoyed.
What is up with my sciatic pain in my hip/butt being WORSE than b4 now that LO is here!?
Baby girl is on the tinier side of 7lbs. She swims in NB sizes so I figured I'd grab some premie sleepers for now. Walmart/target had nothing. Went to carters thinking for sure they would have some. They had NOTHING. How and why. It's a store specializing in baby clothes!
Have you tried babies r us or buy buy baby @tiger2010 ? They may have those sizes. But wow I'm surprised the other two didn't...
sorry to hear that your sciatic pain seems worse now than before. I'm not sure what the deal is with that, but I hope you feel better soon. Back pain like that is no joke. My back has been off and on terrible. The chiropractor has helped a lot, but it's not for everyone.
@TNgoldengirl No cut off date as of yet! It's more based off of how well you are recognized, your contributions and support that you've given and how active you are.
@yellowrose314 Gotcha! Well I asked to join, but understand if I need to wait and be more active on here again first. It's just a little harder without many to talk to!
Thanks @rock1cherry! Unfortunately my closest BBB or BRU is 2 hours away I'm afraid by the time I ordered something online she'd have outgrown them anyways.
It's my last day of work today and it's a little bittersweet. I'm in my mid 30's and this is my first child so I've been known as hard working Tiffany for so many years. It feels wierd that I won't be at work for so long. I have never experienced time off like this. I rarely take a sick day or time off so this will be interesting. I guess adjusting to becoming mommy Tiffany will be a little stranger than I expected. Don't get me wrong, I'm very much looking forward to time off and spending time with my babe, but I didn't expect to feel the way I do about being out of work.
@rock1cherry - I feel exactly the same. I have never taken a vacation from work.. at all. Maybe one day here and there but never even a consecutive week off - now I will be gone for a minimum of 6 weeks and am not sure what to do with myself ! I feel like I focus so much on work and have let it define me in some form that going into this un-chartered mom territory is freaking me out a bit.
Hopefully the adjustments will be smooth as I'm sure they will be worth it !
@rock1cherry@ansley0319 you got this ladies! I was totally in your shoes the last time around. Looking back, I regret not taking more time. This babe, I'm SOOOOO excited to be home with her and DS. It's funny how a baby changes everything!
@tiger2010 I went to Carter's and had to ask for help to look for the preemie clothing. There were a few items only...but LO had her one outfit for the first two weeks as she came early. Any local department stores? I know Macy's and Kohl's carry Carter's..
@rock1cherry I'm with you. I've pretty much worked since I was 16 and now I'm freaking out about being at home for 7 more weeks with a little one. The first week wasn't as bad because my husband was home but he goes back today. It will be me and Elliot. It will take you a little bit but you'll get used to it and soon you'll have a tiny squish to snuggle!!
Thanks ladies! I appreciate that you all know and feel what I'm feeling. I know I will be happy to be off once she's here, but work has been so much to me. Maybe too much to be honest. But it will be good. I can't wait to spend this precious time with my LO!!
ps congrats to @RG1 yay mama! Sorry to hear BFing has been so painful - I hope it gets better!
@RG1 Glad everything went seemingly smooth for you ! I know it was a long build up !! I'm sure the breast feeding will get better if you can hang in there for a bit ! Good luck !
