39 weeks is the LONGEST week ever in all of time

Hey ladies.....it's been so long since I've been on here- hope everyone is doing well!!

So here we are at the end point and this week is definitely dragging by.......I imagine next week will be much of the same......I'm trying to not get too excited that DD is 5 days away because most first timers are late- so I'm trying to not focus on the DD too much....

Anybody else??

Hope you are all doing well!!  Glad to see some of the same names around here! hope everyone has had good pregnancies so far!

  • Same here! This last week before dd needs to go faster

  • Everyday feels like forever. Luckily I'm super busy this time around and it also feels like there aren't enough hours in the day. We are so close!!

    Sebastian 3-11-14
    Simon 5-2-15
    Baby #3 Due 9-29-16
  • What's making it really worse- is that we have a temp who is taking my place while I'm out on leave and I feel like she's actually finally starting to get some things down and be ok to work on her own- and so now I really have no desire to work whatsoever at all.....none.....I could stop working completely- but I don't want to go into this thing completely broke.....I do get short term disability- but that is only 60% of my pay and it doesn't start till I go out on leave.....so, here I am, on the bump.....I have work I could and should do......no desire.
  • I'm 37 weeks, but I feel like it's dragging too. I have no interest in doing anything, and that includes playing with my toddler. I just want to lay on the couch, but that's not happening. I hope it happens soon for you @MNturnsVA!
  • Definitely the LONGEst week ever! DD is tomorrow! And yet my luck she will still be in there 2 weeks from now! (technically 1 week cause my OB likes to induce at 1 week over.
  • @SarahNH1- Yes......I am mentally trying to prepare myself for it being another full 2 weeks......I'm ok working all of next week because we have a 3 week pay check coming up and next week is part of it- so I'd honestly like to be here all week if possible next week.  After that- I don't care. But- I'd like to get paid too.....And my mom has her plane tickets booked for 9/20 to arrive out here- so on the other hand- I'd really like to have this baby out by 9/10 to give me and DH some time alone with baby before my mom gets here.  So many things.....and I've really had a good pregnancy over all so I do not see my OB taking me out of work for any reason other than me just not wanting to be here......at least your DD is tomorrow!!
  • I am 37 weeks and have a scheduled repeat c-section at 39 weeks.  I have been having contractions every night for 5 nights, but they go away when I lay down every time.  So frustrating!  Come on baby, mama is ready when you are!!!
  • Thoroughly convinced that this baby is never coming. 4 days til EDD. So done with this pregnancy.
  • 37 plus weeks dr thinks ill go closer to due date first baby but ripe young age of 41 over here... Even took a wonderful unexpected half day at work today which i never do but considering i work at a gym 4 hours of no clients or classes woilda bored me to death
  • Not overdue yet but at 38+3 today I'm officially more pregnant than I was with my daughter. So much for second babies coming earlier.

My son's pediatrician said more women seem to go into labor during strong low pressure systems, so maybe!
  • @PSUBecky23 Supposedly when the barometric pressure drops, like with storms, there is an increase in the number of women who go into labor.

With my first, I was induced. That night there was a snowstorm and the hospital was insane. They had women laboring in triage and the hallway because they were out of rooms. I had to wait over 2 hrs for an epidural because they were so busy.

  • 40 weeks is the longest week ever! 2 days past my due date, and I'm still not feeling any contractions.  :(
  • Yes, I've probably cursed myself by saying that 39 weeks was the longest week ever.  Super thankful for 3 day weekend before returning to work and that I will be leaving early every day this week from work.  At least that is something to look forward too.....I'm not feeling any contractions either.....

In all honesty- I don't mind the being pregnant still part- it's more some of the people around me- like one of the head dr's I work for has said every day this week that she has seen me at work- which was every day, M-F last week- "you're still here??"  Yep, sure am.....unless you are paying me to sit at home and eat bon bon's....still here.....which I have PTO- but not trying to use it just yet.....That's more annoying than anything and my boredom and just overall lack of motivation to do anything.....

And I do NOT want to be induced.....and I want to be home for a week before my mother gets here on 9/20- so there's a lot going on over here....

Here's to hoping maybe the weather will spark something for some of us!!!

  • Baby is due tomorrow, but I have a feeling it's going to be a bit longer. DH and I used this labor day weekend to celebrate being just the two of us, and it was wonderful. I am ready for baby to come now though, as I tell her "You could come out today..." since I am officially on maternity leave. (I start a new job 12/5, so my 12 weeks starts now.)
  • The 3 day weekend was awesome and both DH and I were bummed and not wanting to go to work today.....but here we are.....most everyone is saying- you're still here to me.....yep....what am I going to do- sit at home and eat bon bon's?? nope.....there is cleaning I could do, but, I have no motivation for anything.....and there is some work that I should do here at work to get the temp set up for while I'm out.....so there is that....I'm on the fence about how I feel about being ready for baby.....I've been up and down with a lot of other emotions and overall pregnancy has been good- so I'm kind of ok if he hangs out for a while longer, but.....on the other hand- there are other things too that would make me want to have the baby sooner.
  • At 40+2 currently and having gone to 40+10 last time I might agree 39 is the longest. Once the due date comes and goes the pressure seems to be off. It's still long, but I get into a whatever mood and know the time is limited past 40.

I was just thinking the same thing!  40+2 here, also, and while I still feel like a crazy person I do seem to feel a little less anxious about it all.  Like a "whatever, it's out of my hands" sort of deal.
