Sign language

just wondering where other kiddos are at with signing. My daughter signs milk, all done, more. The only one she consistently signs is milk.

We are signing help now. I also sign danger when she's by the heater. Always trying to put those little hands in there. She laughs when I sign that. Oh boy.

What are you singing now? So glad I did this with her. I feel like it's saved us from crying fits at some points!

Re: Sign language

  • We've been signing with baby since day one. He definitely understands the signs. We work a lot on milk, eat, thank you, please, more, and all done. We also occasionally do mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, dog, I love you, diaper, eat, and walk (he loves to go for walks). Milk is, of course, his favorite sign. That's the only one that he's ever repeated, and he only did that very recently.

  • I've signed with all 6, he's signing "milk" and "all done" and that's just happened over the last 2 weeks. He isn't signing others we've used, but that's ok.
  • We only practice a couple signs but he can do more, milk and done.
  • My little guy signs more and all done, and we are practicing milk, water, and eat.
  • He has never signed back, but he knows what so many of them mean. I also add 'thank you' 'sorry' 'please'. I hope someday he starts doing them back! I kinda slacked off because he wasn't doing it back, but picked it back up again. I'm not sure if he signs more but it looks a lot more like a clap. Lol
  • Milk, more and all done! Baby girl has started signing all done in contexts other than eating too which is the cutest! Oh, you're "all done" on your walk? Ok! (Bring her inside). You're "all done" with Grandma? (Didn't go over so well :) and when I am putting her down for a nap and she's fighting sometimes she'll sign "all done". So so funny.
  • The only one I think he's done back is "more" but we do a bunch, mostly at meal time. I am going to add stuff like "hurt" "danger" because, I mean, every day now he seems to be in mortal peril at some point, lol.

my LO signs all done (when hes done with food or activities like diaper changes, or when he's riding in the wagon and wants out ha), he also does the sign for milk. We have been working on more please but he hasn't quite mastered that yet...however after reading a couple of these posts I may be mistaking the clapping when he actually may mean more! Time to pay attention more to that!
  • My girl loves sign time. She signs more, all done, thank you, doggy, birdie, airplane, please, hungry, water, want.. I think that's it. I'm so glad I started with her
