Hi there! Thinking of switching to this insurance in case we have to do another IVF cycle. It's a PPO plan, if that helps. Does anyone here have this insurance? If so, what is the fertility coverage like? Or, do you think it's possible to call them and ask even if I'm not on their plan yet?
Thank you!

I'm not on that plan (or in IL) but you should be able to call them and ask or they can send you information. If it's through your employer, you can also ask HR for information, they should have brochures of each plan they provide with the information - at least mine does.
@LeFemmeViolette. I have BCBSIL. I have a PPO plan with $2600 deductible. So after we met the deductible, we just pay 20% out of pocket for all IF stuff. I think it's a law in IL that if the insurance company covers maternity care, they have to cover IF. I haven't done IVF but I have a friend who also had BCBSIL and it was covered with just whatever your percentage is to pay.

I have BCBSIL. I'm covered at 90%, 100% once I reached the deductible of $1000. Also no copays and just completed my 3rd FET. IL does have a state law mandating IVF coverage. The only thing they won't cover is cryo, so expect to have some out of pocket if you freeze anything. Best of luck!

BUT my company has BCBS of IL PPO, and ITS GREAT and covered everything for my boss who went through IVF!
What you might want to check is whether or not they ask for pre-authorization before procedures. BCBS of MA does.
BCBS doesnt have an IUI minimum either which is nice + they cover ICSI if needed.
For meds we only paid 160 out of pocket. Only downside is the minivelle patches, my Dr requested 36 and they only give 8 at a time so thats a pain bc they are 20+ per patch and I wear 2 at a time
