How to get an ultrasound before 8 weeks?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know of an ob/gyn that will see you for an ultrasound before 8 weeks? I am going to be out of state from 7w5d to 9w and really want to know that everything is okay before I travel. I had a missed miscarriage in April, so I really don't want to wait any longer than I have to to be seen. My current OB office is trying to tell me they can't see anyhting on a ultrasound before 8 weeks, which upsets me because when I went in for my 8 week appointment the first pregnancy, I was only measuring 6 weeks and we could see the baby....tiny, but still visible and it was enough to show us there was something wrong. Any suggestions on how to be seen in the 7th week?

Thanks Leslie, seems like a toss up as far as what people see and opinions on waiting vs going in early. I'm only looking to be seen 3 days early!

I will be honest with your doctor or hospital about your feelings and concerns. You have to be a little pushy sometimes. They you should definitely be able to se the baby that early. I had a scan at 5w 2D and we saw a sack and pole. Then at 6W 3D we saw a strong heart beat. As I type this I'm waiting on the office to call me back so they can see me today at 8 weeks. I had minor bleeding and cramps and also had a missed miscarriage in March so I'm super paranoid. I'm going on vacation this Wednesday and also want to make sure things are ok.

I agree Dex! After I talked with the receptionist, I left a voicemail for the doctor explaining my concerns. Hopefully she will call back today and let me know if she is willing to let me come 3 days early. Otherwise, I might look for another doctor who will. If I wasn't traveling, I would wait the few extra days to get to 8 weeks. I hope everything comes out okay with your pregnancy!

Update: found a doctor who said "OF COURSE we will see you before your trip! Dates are approximate, anyway". Problem solved!

Nice! Peace of mind is priceless. Unfortunately I'm going to have to wait till my already schedule ultrasound for next week. Was in the phone over an hour to try and get seen today. They were really nice about it and tried to accommodate me. Since I'm not having an emergency. Things seem to have improved on my end, will just have to be patient and hopeful.
