We bought a convertible crib for DD, but were annoyed to find that the rails that allow it to be converted to a toddler bed were not included, and cost an extra $80. We decided to wait, but when we tried to purchase them, they were no longer being made. I filed a complaint with Graco, and ultimately got a full refund on the crib. A new toddler bed only cost us about $50.
Also, can I throw out there that the rock n' play was what DS slept in for the first 2 or 3 months, and it was a God-send. We plan on using it again. It fits nicely next to our bed but can be moved around too. I know this is a crib discussion, but I thought this would fit here.

We have found a brand new crib on Craigslist for $350 that comes with the toddler and full size conversions so we are going to purchase it! It's a Munire crib that's over $800 retail. I knew there was no way I could justify $800 on a crib no matter what it transformed into haha. @datalover13 that's a good point. I figure the baby will be in our room for a few months before moving to the crib in their own room. I bought a pack n' play that has a bassinet portion to it so that's most likely what we will use for those first few months.
