Hi girls! I am on the second week of the two week wait. Woohoo! I'm trying to find stuff to occupy my mind instead of symptom checking. I broke my cardinal rule and bought something for my hypothetical baby. I guess I was feeling really positive. Now I'm starting to worry that AF is coming. Since I don't have regular periods, I don't really know what that feels like. Weird, I know.
Advice for my 18 year old self: do not come home to visit your high school boyfriend. It ends terribly. Stay on campus and enjoy your new friendships and have fun!!

Current Treatment: Metformin, Provera, Letrozole, Trigger, IUI Past Treatment: Clomid + Metformin x 3 BFN Letrozole 5 mg + Trigger shot + IUI = BFP! Beta confirmed 8/22 EDD 5/1/17
I'm in TWW limbo right now... AF is supposed to arrive today, no signs at all that she is coming (no cramping, no spotting) but all tests are BFN uggg!! I've ordered my meds for our first treatment cycle, just waiting for AF before I buy them. I hope she isn't much later in coming, because it will push back our possible IUI date, and it might overlap with my parents visit (I don't know WHAT excuse I will find if DH and I have to leave together to have the IUI done)
QOTW - Go to school for art... I wish I would have went to school for graphic design instead of veterinary medicine. It would have given me so much more flexibility career wise, and it would be much less stressful.
@GoldenKeys How are you doing? I never see an update from you? Should we clear out some of the members at the top of the list? Some of them haven't been on TB for almost a year, and a few got their BFPs without telling us and moved on. ALSO can you switch my treatment from Supplements & TI to Letrozole + trigger & IUI
I hope you're doing ok

Hi Ladies! I took a little bit of a break from this board after getting my nonpregnant bellied rubbed on two occasions and told how "cute" it was. But my mind feels clearer and I think I'm ready to jump back in.
1) DH and I have just reached the one year mark of trying post MC. And are coming up on three years in Oct since we stopped using any preventative measures.
2) We were diagnosed as anovulatory but after a couple cycles charting that is NOT the case. So @GoldenKeys it looks like you can change us to Unexplained. I think we've probably only had good timing on three of the last seven cycles since I thought I wasn't ovulating and was depressed and not BDing by the time I did O. and then this cycle I O'd btwn cd 17-19 after Oing at cd33 last month and it just so happens that we were in the midst of a week long break, treating a YI.
3)Finally made an appointment with an RE for 11/7, so we have two cycles before that appt. and then I think I'll ask about a trigger and TI. I don't need the meds to ovulate but I apparently cannot seem to time up the BDing currectly.
GTKY - Dont cheat on workouts. Push yourself to your limit. I was a good bball player in college but could've been so much better if I had hit the weights hard.
DH - 34, Me - 32 Married 7/13 TTC #1 since 10/13 BFP 2/4/15, MC twin boys at 18w3d 5/15 IUI #1 2/25/16
@clt2pwm11 Once in a while, I think it is alright to break a rule...even a cardinal one!
@ReesaAnne16 your cycle schedule sounds frustrating! I hope if AF does arrive that it is sooner than later! It would be rather awkward telling your mom that DH has to go get off in a cup, be back in a jiff mom!
@soontobemamahowe People are rude. I have a good male friend (not good enough to know our situation) that keeps insinuating that I am pregnant. Thankfully he hasn't tried to rub my belly. I can't imagine the feelings that you had in those moments! Good luck with your first appointment with the RE. Lots of time to think of all your questions and maybe get a surprise BFP!
CD19, 1 DP IUI. On Monday I went in and had a 17mm, 15mm and 13mm follicle. Got a phone call later that day that said my body was getting ready to ovulate but still wanted me to do the trigger shot. they caught me at a bad time at work and I didn't ask too many questions, just sent my DH in to pick up the trigger shot. They gave him zero instructions and by the time I got home from work they were closed. I took it right after work as we were doing the IUI the next day. My temp did go up yesterday though and I had *tmi "fertile CM" so I feel like we did well with the timing.
And we booked a cruise this morning. We are driving to Florida on Friday and hoping on a ship on Saturday. We'll see how the 20 + hours in the car go...
Here is too a week of relaxing and no work!
QOTW: Don't hesitate in your decisions. Don't stay behind in fear of missing out on the usual...go out in hopes of participating in the unusual.
@GoldenKeys - I did an IUI cycle with Navy Medical Clinic San Diego last month - failed. But I responded well and stimulated great, which is all I really wanted out of the attempt. Now I am scheduled for IVF next cycle in September. They have a waiting list, which I have been on for many months. I am thankful I responded well to stimulation - a good sign! I want to try with my eggs first before we consider egg donation.
Me: 37 / Hubs: 42 TTC: April 2013 DOR: AMH .3 - 1.31 (it varies); FSH: 5.1 Clinic NMCSD IUI #1 July/Aug 2016 IVF #1 Sep/Oct Microdose Lupron Protocol - IVF cancelled only 1 follicle IVF #2 Feb/Mar Antagonist protocol w/estrogen priming - 0 eggs retrieved (empty follicle syndrome) Donor Egg Cycle as soon as we find a match
On the 15th I tested because I have had some crazy symptoms-non stop headaches, excessive fatigue, and spotting-which Ibe never had before. I got a really really light positive. I quickly wrote it off to a defective test since my labs came back that I hadn't ovulated. I was really nauseous all night and finally took a ginger pill that helped some. The next day I was at work and was very nauseous. It got better when I had a granola bar though. I ended up leaving work early to buy a pregnacy test. I came back to work, tested, and it instantly showed a BFP! I cried and cried! It's super early on, as my last period was July 25. But 3 test later (one digital with weeks estimator) I'm convinced there's a light at the end of this tunnel!
I'm scared to get my hopes up in case it doesn't last. I don't want to leave this group because yall are so wonderful and supportive. I lurked here for many months before I even posted to introduce myself and was overwhelmed by the support I felt even as a lurker. I've lurked some on the 1 trimester board and they are nowhere near as supportive and kind. So my bump time may be over.
Hopefully I won't need to come back here. Thank you all for such a wonderful community.
Hugs and love to every one.
Qotw: don't allow yourself to be used and abused. You don't deserve that. You are beautiful. Anyone who doesn't see how valuable you are has no business being in your life.

My FET has been officially scheduled for September 16th, and we've decided to transfer one PGS normal girl embaby! I'm so beyond thrilled. I will know on 9/26 if I am pregnant, and the clinic has assured me that the odds are ever in my favor! They are so optimistic, in fact, that they even had me schedule my first OB scan in mid October. It is going to be an exciting couple of months!
QOTW: The only advice I would give myself is that it DOES get better, and you deserve so much more than that scumbag you are currently dating.
Edited to add QOTW.

@Plainjanie Have fun on your cruise! I've always wanted to go on one. @mrswifeytoad Congrats on your BFP!! @wifeinraleigh28 Hurray for good news! I will keep my fx the transfer goes well!!
As for me, had my first round of clomid this cycle. I think the second day was the worst, symptom wise. After a horrible day it sort of leveled out a bit which was nice. I felt a bit weird though, taking a medication and not knowing if it was actually helping anything. I have noticed that I seem to have a lot more cervical fluid this time around. Our fertility window starts Friday and I am feeling cautiously optimistic. I think it helps that our upcoming fertility window also falls on my week off of work (hallelujah, no stress for one whole week!!!).
Advice I would give my 18 year old self: I know a photography major sounds like a good idea....but don't do it. You won't make a living out of it and in the end it will not be fulfilling enough. I know it seems really hard but at least give nursing school a try.
Congrats @mrswifeytoad!!! You just ovulated after the blood draw!! That's awesome! I wish OBs would just do away with the "cd 21" blood work...women's bodies are not "normal"!

@clt2pwm11 Breaking your cardinal rule just means you're feeling super positive, which is a good feeling to have. FX for your BFP!
@ReesaAnne16 Sorry AF is being a punk! I hope it arrives soon. If you have to do your IUI with your parents around, maybe you can do it early in the morning, send DH off on a "bagel run," and then wander after him because he "got lost." ;-)
@SoonToBeMommaHowe I'm so sorry people have been rubbing your belly--I really don't understand people like that at all. Is it supposed to make anyone feel good? And it's doubly hard for those of us dealing with IF. I'm also really sorry about the anniversaries. Glad you're O'ing on your own, though. Lots of hugs your way!
@Megzb510 I'd never heard of the pineapple core until people discussed it on the IF board. I hope your IUI was successful, and the pineapple core helps!
CD12 here, had a follow-up u/s this morning. My follicles responded to the Clomid perhaps too enthusiastically, so I have a 13, a 17, and 3 20+s. The RE doing the u/s wanted to cancel the IUI, but my primary RE uses five mature follicles as the cut-off so he still wants to try. I'm triggering tomorrow if I don't get a positive OPK. Saturday we'll do another u/s to see how many follicles I ended up with, and then maybe the IUI. DH and I are a bit stressed about the possibility of higher-order multiples so we need to discuss this further. Plus that 13 will probably grow anyway and we'll be out. SO I'm a little depressed that this cycle is likely a bust. We're switching to letrozole next cycle.
QOTW: You'll get to college and want to quit rowing. Don't. Stop being lazy, suck it up, and get out of bed at 5am. You'll regret it forever if you quit. Also, tell your probably-should-be-a-boyfriend-but-isn't that you want to date him. This will save you years of heartache.
Hi ladies- congrats @mrswifeytoad that is such great news!! I'm still benched. Taking my supplements & meds and waiting to redo labs next week. Since I was told about the MTHFR I've been really strict on my diet (no folic acid!!) which I've basically been doing by being gluten free. I feel great! I've always had stomach aches - my entire life- and dr is saying that eating anything with folic acid will cause those sx. I've gone GF in the past but I always cheated b/c I wasn't even sure it was helping me. I'm not sure if it's just psychosomatic but my stomach has been great since I truly stopped the gluten.
Qotw- don't cut and run as soon as any of your relationships get hard...working through the hard times brings you closer and is so much more satisfying

CD10 here. My SO is out of town for work till tomorrow, then it's on! Other than that I've been fighting with Moda over my HSG and OB bills from back in May. Ugh.
I did start seeing an acupuncturist who says she can help lessen my pre-AF spotting and make my cramps less painful. She put me on the free and easy wanderer plus pills for 3 weeks, then I switch to something else during AF. Apparently I have stagnant blood. Im still not sure how this will all help with actually getting pregnant, but the few legit research studies on acupuncture for unexplained infertility do show an increase in live birth rate, so here's to hoping!
I would tell my 18 year old self to relax and enjoy my body! I was so uptight and unaware of how beautiful and strong I was.

CD 2 here. Waiting to hear from RE about what to do for this next cycle. Feeling frustrated that no one seems concerned with my consistently short LP. If they'd gotten results, it would be one thing, but so far no dice. May be doc shopping soon.
Twofold advice for myself: don't go on the pill (!) and bail on college jobs when the time is no longer worth the money.
ReesaAnne16 Thanks for asking... I'm doing fine! :-) I don't get to post as much as I would like but I love reading the comments and seeing the group grow.
Our list gets pruned with a 'Housekeeping' post each quarter, so we should see a change in September. I often keep people on longer than other boards because it's pretty common for people to PM me about needing to 'take a break' from the stress of dealing with IF, promising to return after a couple of months... so there are probably several ppl who should be removed after all in that category.
But yeah, the list is long so I'll get that process going sooner rather than later.
1. How long have you been TTC?- Just under 2 years- this is only my 3rd Clomid IUI cycle with RE though
2. What is your diagnosis? Former diagnosis of PCOS- new RE doesn't think this is accurate though anymore- Unexplained infertility- Left ovary=behind uterus, low Progesterone

**Pity party below. Don't feel obligated to read it.**
I am having a really bad TTTC week. School started back and I am at a new school, so I have had several "Do you have kids? No? Oh. Do you even want kids?" questions. I also had a special education meeting where I saw my old internship supervisor and she just had a grandbaby so after talking about that, of course, her next question was if I was going to have kids soon. I know they mean well and of course kids are kinda the focal point of school life but it still just makes me feel so abnormal. It was so bad that I cried when I saw one of my high school friends announce her first pregnancy. I don't normally have a problem with other people's pregnancies but it was too much. On the upside I went to lunch with another speech therapist I've been friends with since grad school and I actually told her about dealing with infertility and she was really great about it. Her husband is a nurse and she's really a down-to-earth, no-nonsense kind of person so she just said, "I'm so sorry you're going through that." and asked me some questions about it without trying to give me a ton of advice. It felt good to tell an IRL friend about it, even though you ladies are really supportive!
**End pity party**

I'm on CD 12 of cycle 11 (month 13...I have long cycles). I'm pretty much just biding my time until my appt with my OBGYN on the 30th. He's more than likely going to order an HSG and refer me to an RE.

@MandyBeeSLP I'm sorry you were having a rough week I get so frustrated too when people's only topic of conversation is to ask about kids.
I was shopping at a cloth diaper boutique for a friend last week, and I asked the employee to pull up her registry. I've done a ton of cloth diaper research, so I told her which brands I wanted to buy for my friend, and she asks me "What ones did you use on your kids?" WHAT? I had to swallow all my tears to tell her. "I don't have kids" Why would she assume that? It was hard enough to be in that store, and then to be reminded that I don't have kids was so painful.
Anyway, I'm glad you found a friend IRL who was understanding, those friends are priceless
Update for me: AF finally arrived yesterday, I picked up my meds, and start letrozole tomorrow. Unfortunately, this will likely put my IUI during the time my parents are visiting I'm going to have to come up with some excuse for us both to leave for a few hours.

@clt2pwm11 I'm such a bad liar! We used to play this card game in college where you had to try to figure out who was the "assassin" (the person with the joker card) and you had to defend yourself against the town's folks accusations. I have such a guilty looking face, that I would always get caught, or even accused when I wasn't the assassin. It was not my favorite game, but a favorite with all my friends.

Blood tests confirmed that I am pregnant but they want me back in Wednesday to test my levels again, they said my progesterone levels were a little low, even though they are within the normal range...idk, she said it is probably bc it's still just so early! FX for a sticky bean!!!!!!!

I went for my blood test after my internship. I didn't think the office would get back to me today because it was so late, but she contacted me like 20 minutes later. My hcg was 380. She said that was really good. I also go back Wednesday for a second test.
My husband is cautiously optimistic, but I'm feeling really confident, although shocked. I think if the test Wednesday looks good, DH will be more excited.

Hi everyone- good news all around for us so far! We are on our third IVF w/ICSI this month. For the first two ICSIs we had only 3 eggs each and zero fertilization. It was very depressing. With a change in clinic and change in protocol, things are looking super positive for this cycle! My FSH was down from 16.9 to 4.1 using fertinatal DHEA 75mg/day and I had the Egg Retrieval 7 days ago on Aug 18, and we had 13 eggs!! Of those, 11 were mature and we got news the next day that 8 had fertilized. I was crying in a restaurant over breakfast when we got the news. Amazing difference! Eight!
On our transfer day, Sunday Aug 21, we were told that we still had 7 beautiful high grade embryos. I couldn't believe it. The doctor asked three times if we were sure that we wanted to transfer two because "your embryo quality is beautiful and everything looks really good. I think you have a really good shot here! You're sure you're ready for the possibility of twins?" I said "yes! We've never even had an embryo before, we are so excited to maybe have TWO babies!"
So now I'm 3dp3dt of two 8-cell perfect embies and we have 5 on ice. I can't believe it. For the first time in 27 months, I'm allowing myself to have hope, since we finally are getting good news. And honestly, the best part is that if for some reason, none of the 7 embryos 'take' we have decided that we are done with the IVFs. Enough is enough. We are crossing every finger and toe, but at least we have clarity and hope now, something that in the past was the worst thing for me.
Congrats to the ladies with bfps this month! And for those of us still waiting for ours, I wanted to share that even when something seems so hopeless, it can turn around. And even though it's not a bfp yet for us, and I wanted to call it off so many times, it was worth the effort of finding a new clinic and trying a different protocol, as hard as it was to be optimistic. Keep positive! Xoxo
Yay! @iloverocksalot I'm so glad your retrieval was so successful! It is inspiring to see the perseverance you've had

Thank you so much ladies! Still waiting here at 7dp3dt, and with my impatience I've POAS every morning to test out the trigger and hopefully see some little teeny tiny hint of a line. Nothing yet, all BFNs, but I know it's still early. The first two weeks of IVF is physical torture and the last two are mental torture!

Good Afternoon Ladies,
@clt2pwm11 Once in a while, I think it is alright to break a rule...even a cardinal one!

@Plainjanie Enjoy your vacation and a relaxing TWW!

Advice I would give my 18 year old self:
I know a photography major sounds like a good idea....but don't do it. You won't make a living out of it and in the end it will not be fulfilling enough. I know it seems really hard but at least give nursing school a try.

@Plainjanie Enjoy the cruise!
@mrswifeytoad CONGRATULATIONS!! What wonderful news!
@wifeinraleigh28 Yay! FX for a successful transfer!
Qotw- don't cut and run as soon as any of your relationships get hard...working through the hard times brings you closer and is so much more satisfying
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion

Twofold advice for myself: don't go on the pill (!) and bail on college jobs when the time is no longer worth the money.

Carbs are your enemy. I wish I would have known then about Keto, and how great my body responds to it. Then by now I might be slim. Back then I was tired all the time but I could move around, I was lighter and more in shape. When I was 20 I started starving myself. If only I had known about keto!

@wifeinraleigh28 That's excellent news! I'll confess that I had been stalking this board for a while before joining, and yours was one of the names I really recognized and followed your story (totally not creepy, I promise!). Good luck to you!
@MandyBeeSLP Sorry you've had a rough week. But isn't it great to talk with someone IRL who listens and sympathizes? I hope your weekend turns around for you!
I'm on CD 12 of cycle 11 (month 13...I have long cycles). I'm pretty much just biding my time until my appt with my OBGYN on the 30th. He's more than likely going to order an HSG and refer me to an RE.

I've been feeling kinda weird the past couple of days, so fingers crossed!!! I was going to wait until the blood test to share on here, but since you asked, I had to tell!

My husband is cautiously optimistic, but I'm feeling really confident, although shocked. I think if the test Wednesday looks good, DH will be more excited.

Xoxo
fingers crossed for you @iloverocksalot!!
