Fetal movement constantly fluctuating?

I'm sorry if this is a silly question, first time mom here!

I'm 23 weeks pregnant. There have been days over the past few weeks during which the baby is very active (consistently spinning, kicking, punching during a few hours every day), and then other days when I feel the baby move only once or twice. Is this normal? I become worried when I don't feel him move much for a few days.

Do you know where your placenta is? I had anterior, and would have quiet days often, even right up to the end, because i couldnt feel it. Especially at 23 weeks, it is normal to feel movement sporadically.
